I looked back over your posts in this Thread and you've made several REALLY dumb statements concerning your extreme dislike for Glocks...Why do you keep coming back? It's incredibly annoying...

It's akin to those guys who go out of their way to make sure you know they aren't gay. Arc. ______________________________ "Like a bitter weed, I'm a bad seed"- Johnny Cash "I'm a loner, Dottie. That's not "one twist." That is how it goes. Shakespeare wrote about it. Arc. ______________________________ "Like a bitter weed, I'm a bad seed"- Johnny Cash "I'm a loner, Dottie. A rebel." - Pee Wee Herman Rode hard, put away wet. RIP JHM "You're a junkyard dog." - Lupe Flores. RIP

True story from about 1998 when I hated Glocks. Buddy of mine still lived with folks. He and dad huge into guns, mostly high powered bolt action Ruger rifles. His dad liked Ruger because they overbuilt everything. This guy built a tool shed in his back yard that would've survived ground zero at Hiroshima. So we're at the range one day. My friend pulls out a Chinese Type 56 AK knock off. His first words, don't tell my dad. A few months later we're at the range again. My buddy pulls out a Glock 23. My first words to him were, "Does your dad know about this?!?!?!" Buddy who really isn't a pistol shooter sets up a silhouette target at 7 yards, and puts 10 rounds into the head, 9 are in a ragged hole, and one was just south of it by a half inch. I proceeded to shoot the G23. Felt it kicked more than my P220. But I can tell you from that Spring day in 1998 I was bit by the bug. Started looking at Glocks much more than I should've in the local LGS. It took about a year and a half, and a move to Texas when I bought my own G23 in August of 1999. My Glocks are now all 9mm, but I haven't looked back in nearly 13 years. So to all of you resisting, go ahead, everyone does, but eventually everyone comes around. Everyone! It's official, CROW, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.I picked up a new gen3 34, Hopefully this gun will help me get over my fear of plastics, I've seen a few of these at our plate shoots and one in particular that has a Burris FastFire and Burris mount in place of the rear sight, we will see this might be the route I take. In the mean time I will give it an honest attempt to make it one of my target guns.[IMG:left] [/IMG][IMG:right] [/IMG]

Acquired my 1st yesterday - gen 3 glock 23. We'll see how it fares against my 226 at the range this weekend.

I had a G22 back when I lived in Indiana. Loved it - sold it when I moved (dumbass) - great shooter and good value. I wish you could buy new in MA, but nope. I will buy another at some point - might have to move though. ---------------------------- Tony Guns in my collection: Awaiting next purchase

I have tried for years to avoid buying a Glock, though I never professed any hatred for them. It was more an aesthetics-based aversion as opposed to a dislike of Glock functionality. But when my wife was shopping for a CC gun for herself, she rented a G19 (as well as an FNP, M&P, and a 1911) from my LGS. I put a couple boxes of ammo through that G19 while she was testing the others...and even as a range rental it performed flawlessly. I am now trying to find a Gen 3 G17 or G19 to purchase. Indeed, I will buy a Glock.

with all SF's Glock aficionados on this thread, I figured this may be a good place to ask a Glock-related question from a total Glock Newbie. A friend of mine (coworker) is in the police academy and just purchased a Glock 19. His class on Monday will go over disassembly and cleaning, but he wanted a run-down on the gun since it is his first gun ever. It was the first time I had ever taken a Glock apart, and it was factory-new. But on to my question - I was curious as to what the gold lube-like stuff was on the rails. It almost had the consistency of a dry graphite lube? I am also saving up for a G26, which only fed my curiosity. ____________________________ While you may be able to get away with bottom shelf whiskey, stay the hell away from bottom shelf tequila. - FishOn

It's an anti-seize agent. Glock applies it to their pistols because it's tolerant of high temperatures and stays put. If a pistol is stored in, say, the trunk of a car, where temperatures may reach 150 degrees or more, this stuff will not run off. It lasts a long time. http://www.newmantools.com/felpro/c5a.htm

I've got a G19 like that. It doesn't look as good as yours, though.

I never put much stock in that "one consistent trigger pull" thing - but at the range today, I finally understand. My 40-cal 226 is still the accuracy king - I hit nickel-size dots with it at 7 yards all day long, but the glock 23 smacks double taps from a dead start far, far better than the SIG DA/SA. 3 more days this weekend at the range, and I'm thinking the sig moves from nightstand to safe-queen. Amazacrazy as it seems...
