I normally wouldn’t watch a trial, but I watched all 8 hours of yesterday’s testimony. That was all kinds of brutal for the prosecution. If there were ever a trial where you’d see a sua sponte directed verdict, this would be the one.

The prosecution was well aware they have a purjurous witness and chose to use him regardless? When crossed, every last one of their "witnesses" will be exposed as absolute liars.

Is this not prosecutorial misconduct?

Had he been armed with a double barrel shotgun as Dementia Joe says is all you need, he would be dead. Pump shotgun, maybe, but I doubt he could have operated it fast enough, especially while on the ground with two attackers in succession. Semi-auto shotgun would be better than a pump, but he would have to be reloading shells on the fly or he would have been empty.

Smile Not to be argumentative or derail the thread, but to be argumentative at the risk of derailing the thread, if he had a semi-auto shotgun, (say, a Beretta 1301 with mag tube extension) he would only have needed 3 shots and would still have 5 more ready to administer. Smile

If he had a Benelli he'd have 5 more rounds and a sore shoulder. Big Grin

^^^But, he actually had an AR-15 w/ a 30-Round Mag...He's reported to have fired eight rounds, thus leaving twenty-two more 'ready to administer'! Wink

Sadly I have seen many politically motivated prosecutions in recent years that I would call prosecutorial misconduct. There is a fine line between prosecutor "discretion" and unethical behavior. I wish the Bar would take a hard line on these prosecutors. Ethically, they should never bring a charge where they do not believe from the outset that they can get a conviction at trial.

Yes the judge has to be thinking "what a miserable waste of our time here". This will taint the Judge's opinion of the prosecutors for years to come.

That's the point. The anti's always say "no one needs 30 rounds". When defending yourself against multiple attackers in a mob, 10 is barely enough.

As for the semi-auto 12 gauge argument, yes one round of 00 buck would have been enough for each attacker, assuming good shot placement. But a Beretta or Benelli is probably 2x-3x more expensive then he had in that AR, and the gun you can afford is better than one you can't...

And that's my point: he didn't need 30 or 60 or 100. Its seems he was very disciplined about not running up the head count. Cool

I have a conspiracy theory about the prosecution's performance in this trial:

Maybe they DA 's office and these prosecutors are good guys, on the side of the God & Country and the Second Amendment. Maybe the judge and the defending attorneys and they are of like mind.

Maybe its a show trial and these lawyers are unselfishly sacrificing their own reputations/careers to set precedent for AR 15's and legitimate defense of life and property, as LeftySig was saying.

Seems plausible ...

I haven’t seen them myself, but anyone who believes that the 223/5.56 cartridge isn’t capable of causing massive wounds should find some photos to look at. Just the damage the one shot did to the surviving criminal’s biceps muscle should make that clear.

It has been a while since I studies at the Goethe Institute, I can't remember if Grosskreutz means nasty looking arm or big effing hole in German. Smile Maybe it means leftie wanker.

I re-watched the footage last night of the end confrontation in the street and had to replay it a number of times because I couldn't quit catch where he took a round. Then I realized it was a really muffled shot and thought "that's gotta be a contact shot."

Good. Fuck him. I hope it hurt.

Also, I agree with Lefty Sig's post on the last page. There's an awful lot to take away from that few minutes of footage, not the least of which is that it shows quite clearly that the left's arguments about the AR are horseshit. In living color for all to see is a teenager successfully fending off an attacking mob with what appears to be a bone-stock simple M4 config rifle. Two dead, one is going to have to forever wipe his ass with his offhand, and the crowd that was converging on him scattered like dried leaves in the wind. The AR, ladies and gentlemen, is here to stay.

I know you're being facetious, but for those wondering, it means roughly "Grand Cross" or "Large Cross".

Groß = Grand/Large (Same word is used to denote either big/tall/stout in size or high/great in importance or status.)

Kreuz = Cross
