Got an email last night:

I’m thinking it’s a little early, since he hasn’t been accepted yet.

He got an acceptance email this morning.

It’s his back up school, but I’m still breathing a sigh of relief. He bumped his GPA and SATs up this semester and has yet to update those, so I’m taking this as a good sign.

If the world didn’t suck, we’d all fall off of it. That thought helps to keep me positive on a bad day.

The wife found a new simple marinade for beef. 1/3 soy sauce, 1/3 balsamic vinegar, 1/3 olive oil + any spices you like.

I made deviled eggs for the first time in many, many years. Came out pretty good. Think I’ll try pickle relish in them next time.

Finally, at age 65 I get a Daisy Red Ryder Carbine. Probably by now I've learned how not to shoot my eye out.

The cat puked again.

Julie Newmar is 90 now, and they just can't make TV shows like "Batman" of the 1960s anymore.

My son has been getting junk email from universities he won’t be going to.

However, I got a little excited to see one from Weber International University. Then I looked and it’s not the Weber Grill people.

I had a half order of huevos rancheros and a biscuit for breakfast at Magoos. I have happy guts.

The nice thing about it being frickin-freezin' here this weekend is that the neighbor's dogs haven't been outside raising Cain quite so much.

I've been a bit under the weather since New Years Eve and today I felt well enough to have my first cup of coffee of the new year. Damn this is delicious!

They seem to run Jardiance commercials non stop here. I'm glad they finally got a new lady to sing the "Jardiance is really swell" song. I was getting tired of the listening to the other lady.

Never heard of it, so I looked it up and found that it is "a sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT-2) inhibitor."

Plus Worcestershire sauce, I use this marinade for grilled chicken. I served it for my wife's nephew, and since his mom wasn't much of a cook, he said "you made this chicken?" We call it YMT chicken now. Sometimes I finish the chicken off the grill with a blue cheese schmear.
