I just wish our Lt Gov.'s suit against Cooper would get to a court but I'm afraid even when it does, it will be put in front of one of the many liberal ones infesting the court system. The few that have been ruled on in favor of plaintiffs against his illegal orders have then been appealed and overturned by a higher liberal appeals court.

The mask crap has finally spread over here. There are new mandates in most or all of the counties making up the Tri-Cities area. Walmart and Target are supposed to start requiring them to enter the store. Roll Eyes Nevertheless, I'm going to see if I can find one for "just in case." It's not as if I'm going to fight with the grocery store clerk or Grandma the Walmart greeter. The mandates don't say you actually have to wear the abortion on your face. Razz If the things worked - actually worked - they should have done this five months ago.

Michigan Governor Whitmer has declared that although a medical condition does exempt you from having to wear a mask, business owners are no longer allowed to assume that. They must approach you and ask you about your condition and evaluate whether or not you can proceed.

Unbelievable....

In related news two people have been stabbed and one shot by police related to the new mask mandate in the last week. This is going very well. Whitmer commented that she can't understand why anyone would get so upset by a simple cloth over their face. Roll Eyes

Exactly. For March and April, we didn't stay at home by choice, but rather nothing was open so there wasn't anywhere to go.

Our county in Florida voted down a mask ordinance, but it won't matter as all the chain corp businesses are requiring them including Publix.

I was just telling the fellas........

If someone had a legitimate medical condition, they could make a fine living going to businesses and being turned away in violation to ADA, and then suing each and every business for such.

ADA is pretty clear that this “no mask, no service” laws won’t pass muster as they violate ADA.

“Just following orders” is not a legitimate legal excuse.

As much as I dislike frivolous lawsuits, I would love to see this happen.

I wish those who want to hide in their basements, would just go ahead & do it. If someone thinks wearing a mask protects them, fine, they're free to go ahead & wear one for the rest of their lives if they want. I don't care, but it's about time they STFU, and let the rest of us go on with the rest of our lives. This is way out of hand.

I have met some. There are attorneys that actively seek these clients. These folks often have had a rewarding career as slip and fall artists as well. They show up in court with a hard neck brace, bandages and in a wheelchair. They cry a lot.

It is not a HIPPA violation, just a violation of privacy. This edict reminds me of a Chevy Chase film, where he makes a wrong turn and ends up in a bad neighborhood. He rolls his window down and asks for directions while the gang is removing his hubcaps.

Just like good cops have to make a stand against tyrannical bosses, business owners have to start making the same choice. It is illegal to do what is being done. We’ve flaunted the whole “just following orders” things for years as it comes to LE and gun confiscation. Now, we have a sure enough crisis, and we all have to do our part to fight tyranny. “Just following orders” is no longer an excuse.

I’m sorry, but actions have consequences. Violating the law because one man (the governor) thinks its a good idea to throw laws and the Constitution into the wind doesn’t make it legal. He is trying to put Kentuckian against Kentuckian. People have to pick a side. His rules, not mine.

If people don’t like those rules, they need to choose wiser at the ballot box the next time. It’s only going to get worse. Counsel for the governor said in court the other day that his power is “absolute and unlimited”. There’s no riding the fence and waiting it out.

Pick a side.

Kentucky couple slapped with ankle monitors after wife tests positive for coronavirus

https://www.washingtonexaminer...tive-for-coronavirus

A couple in Kentucky is threatening to sue the local government after health department officials visited their home with sheriff's deputies and placed ankle monitors on them after the wife tested positive for the coronavirus.

Elizabeth Linscott tested positive for COVID-19 last week. The Hardin County Health Department contacted her a few days later and requested she sign papers limiting her traveling anywhere unless she calls the health department first, WKYT reported.

Linscott declined to sign the documents.

“My part was if I have to go to the ER, if I have to go to the hospital, I’m not going to wait to get the approval to go,” she told the station.

A few days later, Linscott said officials with the Hardin County Sheriff’s Department arrived at her home.

“I open up the door and there’s like eight different people,” Linscott's husband Isaiah said. “Five different cars and I’m like what the heck’s going on? This guy’s in a suit with a mask, it’s the health department guy and he has three different papers for us. For me, her and my daughter.”

Elizabeth Linscott, who is asymptomatic, said just because she did not sign the Self-isolation and Controlled Movement Agreed Order does not mean she is not willing to quarantine until she recovers.

“That’s exactly what the director of the public health department told the judge, that I was refusing to self-quarantine because of this and that was not the case at all,” Linscott said. “I never said that.”

The ankle monitors will alert authorities if they travel more than 200 feet from their home. The couple told the station they are seeking legal counsel regarding the situation.

Replace "ankle bracelet" with "railway cars" and it's not too hard to see and how fast this overreaching shit could go...

I thought Kentucky was way too conservative and freedom-loving for something like that to happen there. Roll Eyes

I think of incidents like this whenever someone gets all puffed up about where he lives being such a defender of freedom and how anyone who lives in a place that isn’t like that (and might, for example, elect a Democrat governor) should simply pull up stakes and move and find new friends and a new home and a new job and new things to keep them occupied and perhaps even new relatives.
