The gym is in BELLMAWR. NOT BELMAR.

Or more likely The Office. Cause team guys showing up at a gym is a Dwight Schrute move.

Big difference there.

Have to wonder about the news media. In one story detailing this, they show a hospital in NYC???? Nothing to do with the story but I guess they have to interject a measure of fear.

Seems to me they were taking the precautions suggested by the medical experts. A lot more than done on the NYC subway or any food market.

Ha! That’s what I meant.

Btw, this is NJ...everything is an overreaction. There were lots of police officers around, all friendly. No roads were blocked. Lotsa news vans. And SWAT hanging out in case us meat heads got out of hand and started spotting each other.

Add Lori Lightfoot to the list of people who’s gonna have a hard time when the revolution comes.

She’s towing all the cars on the block that a Church is on. The Church (predominantly Romanian) was holding service yesterday and defying Lightfoots jackbooted orders!

Announcement by the MI Gov at 1:30 Eastern today. She’s supposed to announce a relaxation of the stay at home order.

Meaning the case in front of the MI Supreme Court moves forward.

Not happening. First there are too many ways in and out. They aren't going to keep in all those wealthy homeowners. Second, the state PD rarely gets involved in local matters involving a ordinance.

Unless they bought a lot of people in on overtime, those barracks aren't staffed by a large number of people.

SWAT team??? Every time someone sees a truck, it's a SWAT team.

A)There are NOT a lot of ways in and out of that town.

B) This is a blue Collar area not wealthy

C) If they would send 30 SWAT team members fully geared up in armored trucks to pick up an old guy in his bathrobe (Roger Stone), I wouldn't be at all surprised that a gym owner would be subject to red dots from sniper scopes dancing on his chest.

Can't let the rest of the prawns get the wrong idea. Put your mask back on!!

I spend half my life in that town. Back in the 60's and 70's the older homes were demolished and high priced McMansions went up. Everything a block or two from the beach is a million and a half and up.

Belmar has a ton of side streets into and out of the town. There are roughly 18 street heading towards the beach from Rt. 35.

Now if you are referring to the other town, then thast might not be the case.

Stone was picked up by the FBI team, not a state unit.

BELMAWR (Camden Co) not Belmar (Monmouth Co)

She has little choice. Despite the weekly protests in Lansing (Michigan's capital), cops publicly announcing they won't enforce her edicts, businesses opening in violation of her orders, and people increasingly returning to some semblance of living: The infection and death rates continue to decline.

There there's...

I don't think it's in front of the State Supreme Court quite yet. The judge in the court before it was, last I knew, clearly expressed skepticism that she was allowed to do what she's been doing.

So, just as with the vape ban nonsense a few months back, she's about to get shot down by the courts. Again.

The problem is that there is no punishment for getting shot down by the courts. It might be politically embarrassing for those who have some shame and/or are covered by a honest media (LOL). But no politician is out one dime of personal money or faces a minute of jail time for trashing laws in an official capacity.

As is typical for Chicago politics, I'll bet Lightfoot has a relative or friend with a city towing contract...keeping the populace oppressed and making some dinero at the same time...

Yep, ole fatman just made it a law!

I predict they will be pushing for the “fine” option rather than “arrest”.

The majority of law enforcement IS NOT taking any action.
But that’s not saying the political animals in the health department won’t be turned into the Brown Shirts...

'Have A Good Day,' South Jersey Police Tell Gym-Goers As Members Defy COVID-19 Shutdown A gym in South Jersey reopened for business Monday, defying a state order that shut down nonessential businesses to slow the spread of coronavirus, according to multiple news reports.

This v ideo posted on Facebook shows police warning patrons of Atilis Gym in Camden County that "Formally, you are all in violation of the executive order. On that note, have a good day. Everybody be safe."

Gym members erupted into cheers, chanting "USA, USA."

Gov. Phil Murphy, during an afternoon news briefing, said the isolated breach in Bellmawr did not concern him.

"I'm not overly concerned right now,'' Murphy said. "Indoor sedentary is hard. You're inside with no ventilation."

State Police Superintendent Pat Callahan said the gym's owner was issued a summons.

I also don't want to start World War III," the governor added. "People have continued to do the right thing, because they are. smart."

On a related note, this Facebook group is calling for June 1 openings of all private gyms and fitness centers statewide:

People began gathering outside the Atilis Gym in Bellmawr before sunrise on Monday. The owners have said the decision to resume operations at the members-only facility was not about profits, but a question of Constitutional rights.

Shortly before the 8 a.m. opening a police officer told those crowded on the sidewalk in front of the gym, "We planned for the worst and hoped for the best, and it seems like that's what we have out here today."

Ian Smith, co-owner of Atilis Gym, unlocked the doors to allow a limited number of members to use the facility as police cars circled the strip mall parking lot and set up traffic cones. Members were checked for temperatures as they entered. Smith said they will limit capacity to 20% or about 44 people at a time.

"We truly believe that if we don't do this, in the end, we will have zero rights and no say in what happens," co-owner Frank Trumbetti said in a video posted on the gym's Facebook page.

The crowd sang the National Anthem multiple times and yelled “reopen New Jersey now,” “all business is essential,” "USA, USA," and “Trump 2020." A handful of those gathered, including law enforcement officers, wore face coverings, but the vast majority had no masks and were tightly clustered together on the parking area in front of the gym.

Smith said he rearranged the gym equipment to provide more social distancing and the staff would be stepping up cleaning efforts.

Gov. Phil Murphy ordered fitness centers, movie theaters and casinos closed on March 16 to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

The gym posted a warning from the Camden County Prosecutor's Office that anyone who patronizes a business in violation of the executive order could face a disorderly persons charge.

Example is Tucson City Council drafting an anti gun city ordinance a few years ago, while the state AG sent them a nasty gram warning them it's was not legal to do so.

Issue went to court which Tucson lost and was ordered to pay court costs, nearly 1 mil...which taxpayers had to fork out.

If there was a mechanism in place to make the individuals like a mayor or governor, or groups like the city councils have to pay out the court costs and fines rather than taxpayers, lots of this crap would cease quickly. Until that happens, these asses will continue their nonsense.

I’ve been saying it for a couple of months. The health department is the gestapo. They have themselves a dose of power. They are acting just like it.

It’s not everyday you get told you may be arrested for exercising at a gym where I’m a member.

After they took my temp, they told me the rules and said, “Just to warn you, you may get arrested if you come inside. I gladly strutted in!

Had to sign two waivers. The owners had their lawyer hanging out all day.

Close.
Lori has no family/friends with city contracts yet... She's new, and an outsider.

But everything else you're 100% on!
She's keeping the populace oppressed, then taxing the hell out of them for it.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say 90% of those cars on that block had nothing to do with that church outside of living by it.
Lori, because of "da Rona" and peoples is gonna die! She decided to punish innocent people by, if you break it down, stealing their cars, and leveling a tax on them to get their property back.

Now I'm not a history expert, but I passed a few classes in my day, and remember a few things...
I have a vague memory of bullshit shenanigans happening like that somewhere out east, back in the 1770's...

Murphy seems to be threatening arrests today if the gym owners open again, and his threat apparently extends to gym members as well who choose to use the gym. These governors need a huge smackdown. They are literally acting like kings. Murphy says he won't tolerate the gym opening again. "These are rules!" he says. POS. When did the legislature pass a law saying the gym can't open? When did the governor sign that legislation? Unamerican douchebag

Good luck today if you hit the iron again.
