Sorry about the crappy iPhone picts, but I'm a cop and a watch enthusiast not a photographer... I'm sure you guys (and gals) appreciate the watch more than the pict!

I have a Speedmaster just like that one. My favorite watch by far and yes, I do wear it on duty fairly often. Best part is one day recently I was called to a scene and while we were waiting for the investigators to investigate another officer walks up to me and goes "is that a Moonwatch?" He holds up his wrist and is also wearing a Speedmaster. What are the odds of two cops on the same scene both with exquisite taste in watches and the madness to wear them on duty? We had a wonderful conversation about watches that couldn't have interested most of the folks around us less.

The Speedy is a beautiful watch, but it was built to be a tool and meant to be worn. That said, I will admit I keep a somewhat more expendable watch in my desk safe in my office for when I know I might be going somewhere...dynamic.

I found out about a year ago that one of my Lt's is into watches. Seamaster, Grand Seiko, A few Seiko turtles, Tudor Black Bay Rolex GMT, a few other nice pieces...

He's the one I turned on to the Helms.
We can sit in the office and talk about watches for a long time...

A few day's ago, I have on the Helm with the Ti bracelet, he's about > < this close to getting another Seamaster (Pro-Diver 300, black ceramic & sedna) we're in the office geeking out about watches; this movement, these type of hands, this type of lume, etc, etc,

Our Captain walks in- "Hey, about the shooting the other night..." (gang-banger vs gang-banger)

We both look at him in disgust, and point at the computer. We have on someone's YouTube channel about watches. "Yeah, whatever Capt. Watches!" and we're both pointing at the computer.

Our Captain: "Hey, I'm serious! This is important!"
Lt: "Look Boss, we can't UN-SHOOT the bad guy, but we can get another watch!"

The Skipper is just standing there with this quizzical "WTF just happened" look on his face and a day old case report in his hand. Thankfully we've all known each other for around 30 years.

LOL!!! Nice to see you guys have your priorities straight and someplace to go when you finally get to retirement!!! But seriously! What's your usual EDC for an on-duty watch? Anything in particular or just a few that are rotated?

Nice options! I bought a Marathon 46mm GSAR "Jumbo" (white dial) and found that even with my hefty wrist, it was just too big. I'm thinking maybe the smaller 41mm might be a good choice for an end of probation present for my LEO grandson.

I have the CSAR and tossed the SS bracelet on it.
Yeah, you know you’re wearing a watch!
The 41mm’s are about the perfect size, and as you know, those Marathons are tough, durable watches!

I mentioned to my wife of 43 years that I was tired of my 2015 Seamaster Diver 300M and wanted to upgrade to a current model:

She said I should talk to her divorce attorney first.

Has anyone had to send a watch back to Jomashop for warranty work? If so what was your experience?

I'm asking because the Marathon I bought from Long Island Watch came in not working and had to send it back. They were quick to ship another. Long Island Watch was great to deal with, but I'm a little gun-shy with my next purchase.

Rick, that’s one damn fine Rolex. I really like the color combo, and it just looks great.

Your wife’s is nice too, but I definitely prefer yours.

That is such a beautiful Rolex! Aesthetically speaking I consider it to be one of the most perfect wrist watches in existence. In my eyes it is pretty damn close to perfection.

Congratulations!!! That watch is an absolute work of art! A masterpiece really.

New watch day!!! I have been interested in a DLC MOP Ocean One for a long time. When I recently came across one for well under half what they cost new I figured why not.

First impression is very positive. The dial looks gray/black until the light hits the dial just right and then it looks like an oil slick of brilliant green, orange, red and purple. Big Grin

Thought my fellow strapmonster appreciators might like to consider these offerings from Erik's Original MN straps. I just received a couple for my Tudor MN21 and though these are more expensive than your typical nylon offerings, they are far more comfortable and secure! Very easy to adjust for tightness and made with cloth enclosed (I think) elastic material and stainless steel hardware, these are definitely worth the additional cost. My Tudor FXD MN has solid lugs, but these can be purchased for watches using removable lugs too.

I have the same Pelagos FXD MN24 that I brought home back in the spring. It did not take long for the Velcro strap that is comes with to be replaced by an Ericas strap. The combo is perfection for me.

From time to time I consider a new watch, but I haven't pulled the trigger as of yet. Two have caught my eye. Tissot Seastar 1000 green or blue dial. And a Hamilton Khaki Scuba white dial. There is a place in Denver I check on occasionally where I happened upon a green dial Doxa 600 that if I can get it on a black silicone band it just might be game over.

They don't show up in this thread very often. So, what is the opinion of the membership on Doxa?
