A vintage no-date Sub would be one that could tempt me. I'd probably resist, but . . .

Coloradohunter44, THAT is a perfect Rolex! I love it!

I will eventually own one similar to that one (maybe an older version).

For the time being this will have to keep me occupied. Behold my summer watch. Because lord knows due to the blacked out dial and hands it’s only going to be visible by a pool side or out on the lake. Big Grin

Steinhart Green Phantom limited edition.

Woah!!!
THAT is nice!

I see just a small part of your ring, the Steinhert looks like it matches.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Geophysic 1958 Limited Edition. I would put this watch up against any in my collection for the amount of interest and complexity of the design. The case just has it all. The angles and cut of the lugs, the finishing, and its polishing and brushing reminding me of much more expensive watches from A. Lange & Söhne.

The dial has a lot of complexity for a watch that is without the complications of so much as a date. The long, precisely cut, second hand cruises the second indices and meets them exactly. The cross hair print on the paper matte dial reminds me of the scientists blueprints. But my favorite aspect of the dial is the depth and structure of the applied indices and the lume dots. At differing heights due to the lume dots printing on the inner rehaut ring, and the raised applied indices structured on the dial. Examining my photos, you might also pick up on the spherical nature of the lume dots. Very noticeable with the naked eye up close, but hard to photograph well.

Jaeger is an underappreciated brand, I think. Their designs are clean and refined. They make an ultra thin moon phase that I really like.

r0gue,
As I've said here before, your Geophysic is an absolutely gorgeous timepiece. This from a tool watch guy. Big Grin

I took advantage of a Memorial day sale and picked these two up. A Seiko Sport 5 and a Brooklyn Wyckoff Automatic.

Thanks! I actually do totally consider this a tool watch. Antimagnetic scientists watch in the era of electrification and exploration of the mid-20th century.

My wife surprised the hell out of me today. She and my daughter were proudly sporting some watches that matched their outfits brilliantly. A few days ago I had mentioned I was considering buying her a white mother of Pearl dive watch for mother’s day that would match my white Steinie and she seemed surprisingly open to the idea. I think her sporting a watch and wanting me to notice it is her way of saying do it (our daughter can’t keep a secret) the surprise was spoiled by my exited daughter saying “look at my watch!! Mommy is wearing one too!!!”.

I pulled the trigger on one of these for my wife. Now we will have matching divers. Cool

Now I need to get my scuba certification so I can join my wife on a dive when the world returns to normal and we can go on a MUCH needed Caribbean vacation.

OK, so I look into these and I see they use an ETA 2824-2 or an SW-200, then I see they have ceramic bezel and sapphire crystal. Blue lume - excellent!

Further, they are German and a small company that assembles them in house by three watchmakers.

Not sure where the case is made, figure it might be local. Germany makes nice cases.

The bracelets are real nice. Screws, solid end links.

I sent a link to my hard working daughter, she liked the white MOP diver in 39mm.

I bought it with an extra strap in white and the jubilee bracelet, which is what she wears it on.

She set up her wedding in Ireland in Sept, but covid and 2 week quarantine in Ireland makes this impossible now. She's crushed.

Like I said, she works hard and needs a lift, so I got this for her.

She was wearing a fashion Spidel (UGGHHH!) even though I bought her a Rolex ladies Date with FET bezel in '03. She's self conscious about it.

I see Steinhart Divers as what Sinn was 20 years back, ultimate value for the money, well made and durable.

That said, I still have my 206 on the wrist, loving it. Smile

Kudos Snapping Twig! Sorry to hear about your daughters wedding. For sure there are a lot of people having their big events jacked up this year. That'll be a nice bright spot in the memory.

Next up, a quick impulse buy of the Timex Q. I got sucked into the buzz, hype and fun of a new throwback release sized in a very appropriate (for me) 38mm. The Timex Q. Very original vintage feel. Plexi, vintage looking lume without looking fauxtina. The bracelet was very interesting. I'm surprised they still had the machinery to make this old style bracelet. Or is it band?

I owned it a few weeks, snapped out of the delusion that I would ever wear this thing, and having never worn it, I gave it to my son.

I might wear the watch, but not the stretchy bracelet.

It's actually not stretchy. I would have guessed the same. No stretch at all. Still. Somewhere between meh and yech.

The thought that this came back-to-back with the Timex Q amuses me. My long discontinued 38mm variant of the Chronomètre Souverain.

I’m enjoying this thread very much. I’m typically more of a sport watch enthusiast but the FP and JL above are very elegant timepieces.

Anyone here snag one of Elshan Tang’s latest works of art? I got #45 out of 100. The new Zelos Horizons version 2 in Frost White (full lume) Cool

Loving the full lume and 40mm case size!

Fairly thin case thick crystal.

Can’t wait to see how this ETA 2893 stacks up against my new Steinhart and it’s Sellita SW330 movement.
