You can always put your name in for the Rare High Demand Products Lottery Drawing. I got a bottle of Weller Single Barrel that way a couple of years ago.

I actually did get a bottle this year from that back in April. That really focused my interest in bourbon. Although, I have to admit i haven’t opened the bottle I won since i know its near impossible to get again and i feel like i need more experience to appreciate it.

What bottle did you get through the Utah lottery last year PorterN?

Idaho will be your best bet for variety in-store, not sure if you can buy online and have it shipped to UT or not.

Can’t ship any here, unfortunately. Between Idaho, Colorado, Arizona, and Nevada, Idahos’ closest. But still don’t get there often.

I got the Weller Full Proof draw, tho.

Latest finds. The Bookers is aged 7 years, 1 month and 2 days and is 125.5 proof. Should be interesting Smile

I've had the Michter's and like it, this is my second bottle.

Haven't tried the Henry McKenna 10 year yet but looking forward to it. It was barreled Oct 17 2012.

great finds.
The 23-01 Charlie’s Batch was great. People tend to be not liking the Apprentice Batch 23-02. Ive not opened mine yet.

Michter’s Small Batch is a good solid one for me. i quite enjoy it and Michter’s Rye.

I am underwhelmed by the McKenna 10 myself. It isn't bad by any stretch, just....I dunno....uninteresting. The Old Forester Whisky Row offerings, esp. 1910 & 1920, any of the Makers private selection, Four Roses small batch, Michter's bourbon, etc. are better to my palate, and cheaper (at least in Alaska).

Different strokes for different palates. I can't handle any of the Maker's Mark products, or Four Roses......I have not tried the Old Forester products. We all like what tastes good to us........that is what makes the World go around.

A friend of mine asked for beginner bourbon recommendations so i figured I’d buy him a bottle of Buffalo Trace. I showed up to the liquor store this morning about 10 minutes before they opened and there were four people out front. Apparently online inventory showed two bottles of Stagg. One lady who got there same time as i did waited in line but then cut everyone and ran into the store when the doors opened. The guy who was first in line said “you’re not going to cut, are you?” And she muttered something and kinda shoulder bumped him. But i thought they were about to brawl. There ended up being no stagg, since the UDABS’ website doesn’t update for shit, apparently.

I know it’s probably fairly common to get heated when the ol’ tater bottle-flippers are chomping at the bit, but that’s the first I’ve seen it. Took me back to my days working LP at Walmart on Black Fridays. Big Grin

According to the Cincinnati Bourbon Society FB page, Stagg has hit the Cincy area Kroger stores.

Cincy Bourbon drinkers, be on the lookout.

I have a question

I have a bottle of Stagg JR I picked up a couple years ago, I also picked up what I thought was a bottle of the same a couple weeks ago. Same labeling except the tiny "JR" that is placed in the logo a couple times on the older bottle, no "JR" at all on the new bottle. What do I have with the new bottle?

You still have Stagg Jr., which is an excellent pour from what I have had. The labeling was changed dropping the "Jr." in 2021 I think. It may not have hit the shelves until 2022. There also wasn't an antique collection Stagg release in 2021 either. Have you had a chance to try yours?

Got some info from SAF today, they partnered with a KY distillery to create 2A Bourbon, you can get it in a cool case with stopper for $114, or buy it without the case, and a portion goes to SAF to fight 2A cases...

CONSTITUTIONAL SPIRITS LAUNCHES

‘2A BOURBON’ TO SUPPORT SAF

BELLEVUE, WA – The Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) is delighted to receive support from Constitutional Spirits, with its launch of “2A Bourbon,” from which the foundation will get a portion of the proceeds from each bottle sold.

“We are thrilled to partner with the Second Amendment Foundation and support their mission,” said Tim Oates, owner of Constitutional Spirits LLC. “We believe that the Second Amendment is a crucial component of our Constitution and a fundamental right of all Americans. We will positively impact the defense of these rights.”

“It is exciting that a corporate partner from a non-firearms related domain has chosen to support the Foundation,” said SAF Executive Director Adam Kraut, “2A Bourbon will donate a portion of its proceeds to organizations like SAF. We’re grateful for this opportunity and we welcome the involvement of Tim Oates and his team, supporting our efforts to defend, restore, and expand the right to keep and bear arms.”

2A Bourbon is available for sale in 44 states through mail order, with plans to add more states through its ABC Boards, including North Carolina. The unique pistol case packaging with the letter "A" and the number 2 is a fitting symbol of the Second Amendment and the cause for which we stand, Oates noted. Consumers may learn more by visiting 2ABourbon.com.

“We’re delighted at this special method of providing corporate support for our activities,” said SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb.

For more information on how to support Second Amendment Foundation please contact Lauren Hill, vice president of Development at Lhill@SAF.org

Their was a local liquor store who's manager would post on a Facebook group if they were getting anything good in the day before it would show up.
People would show up hours before the store would open to get on line. At some point, I had heard that one day while people were waiting on line someone from the store picked someone out of the line ahead of other people and was give the opportunity to purchase an allocated bottle.

That did not sit well with one of those people and they went off on the manager on line. Needless to say from what I understand he no longer post on line what is coming in ahead of time, you just have to be at the store early in the mornings and hope for the best.

A few weeks ago I lucked out when I walked into my local Bjs and picked up a bottle of Blantons.

Stagg, ER, BT, and EHT all use the same mash bill.

Can any of you Ohio guys recommend some liquor stores to pick up Weller Special reserve or 107?

I will be coming through there on the way from Branson to WV so the the closer to Cinci or the southern part of the state would be ideal.

Thanks!

When are you coming through?

You can visit the OHLQ website, which is not 100% accurate, but generally pretty good.
https://www.ohlq.com/

However, I will be happy to hook you up. How many bottles of SR and 107 are you looking for?

I just ran out of bar soap for my showers... I had a case of that wokie Dr. Squach stuff but used it up.... was at the grocery store looking and just about every bar soap they had was either anti bacterial or had some kind of 'doushie' smell to it... why can't they just make soap? I finally did buy a bar and that is why this is in this thread and it does have a smell....
