Glocks have been around so long now they're a classic in their own right. Love 'em or hate 'em, they're here to stay, and manufacturers are jumping all over poly guns because they're cheaper to make. I've had a G36, G17, G21-C, and now have a G17-L. My 17-L is as accurate as anything I've got. Unfortunately, the grip does exert some pressure on my hand which a Hogue Handall doesn't quite eliminate. It almost makes my hand numb after a few mags. I might try a glove. I also owned and sold an XD pistol. While I preferred it's grip angle and appreciated the grip safety, I like the classic, uncomplicated function of the Glock. Didn't care for my buddy's XDm at all (trigger). In general I prefer metal guns, but Glocks will do in a pinch, and if you've got to own a poly pistol you can do much worse. -- Sam

Para is right, while I haven't named them yet here's what two trips to the range today brought home. I picked up the G23 first, went home and realized I really needed that G19 laying in the case as well. I'd been trying to steer clear of poly but this thread made me rethink my decision. I had a G19 about a year ago and sold it, in retrospect it was a great shooter and it really fit my hand. Still have the Sig's and HK's but these are hard to beat for the money. Thanks for the wake up call Para.

It's more like this. At some point, you buy a glock and secretly fall in love with it. Then you buy an HK and forget about every other pistol you've ever owned.

I don't collect. I prepare for the future. I don't have OD green. All are identical... black, Heine Slant Pro rear (black) Heine/Trijicon tritium front, otherwise bone stock. I have a bucketload of rebuilt pre-ban 15 round mags here in CA, and fifty bucketloads new in the wrapper in a safe somewhere in Las Vegas. I'm not sure how many G19 mags I have but it's triple digits for sure. It's the perfect fighting/HD/CCW gun. Anything else is just for variety or, in the case of my custom 1911's and Colt Pythons, the art/craftsmanship/uniqueness. I have two GrayGuns custom Sigs, matching two-tone P226R and P220R with Nills. Nice guns. I have two USP's, USP45 and USP9. I have a 92FS as well. They are all nice guns, but the G19 just works perfectly for me, right out of the box. Durable, reliable, accurate, lightweight, the right size, easy to strip and clean, high capacity, affordable to practice with, and a short trigger reset which is essential in a fighting gun. This is the major flaw in the box-stock Sig P-Series and HK USP pistols for me, which I never realized until I started training with Suarez International and trained on my own using drills from those courses. I'm used to Glocks and often short-stroke the double tap with other pistols (never 1911's though). All my G19's are new Gen 3's, the oldest being a few years old. I bought and sold two other G19's before the 4 I own now, because prior to doing real training I just punched paper and felt the Glock was inferior. Now I realize that it's king for all types of shooting that really matter, and that's the only type of shooting I do anymore. If I can find a NIB or nearly new 2nd gen G19, I will have a total of 5 G19's. The G21SF is also a great gun, that fits me much better than the standard G21 - which was my first pistol, I bought one NIB on my 21st birthday. I've got one with the same Heine sight setup and a SureFire X300 weapon light next to me as I type this. -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- Guns, cars, Cuban cigars

Just remember: prices increase when demand exceeds supply. Your demand is limiting supply and when the prices go up we're coming after you. But you can buy us off by selling guns at the original prices. This message has been edited. Last edited by: jeremiahjj, SIGnature: Jere

I currently do not like the trigger or mechanics of the glock. So at present there are no glocks in my future. Who knows a re-design might bring a glock into the fold. ---------------------- StagArms AR15 16.5 Plenty of goodies

I just don't see it happening. I've looked at a G20 simply because it's an affordable 10mm available to Californians. I've shot a few different Glocks and I just don't shoot them as well as I shoot other firearms. I think their great for people who shoot well with them, but other than that, I just don't buy as gun simply becasue they are cheap or all the rage. I recall my first Sig. I took a load of crap from the old school guys with their 1911s. My guns was allegedly a Euro Trash Peashooter. _____________ Cry 'Havoc,' and let slip the dogs of war

Good spirit, innovative thinking, Bucbrew, but would it be a Glock? Glocks have two main attributes: polymer frames and the trigger mechanism. Take away either and you'd have a Glig or a Slock. Gligs and Slocks. I'm getting iller by the minute. Maybe this thread has gone far enough. SIGnature: Jere

Yeah, that's why I've carried a Glock since the early 1990s - economy and fashion.

The glock may be a fine sidearm, but they do not fit my hands. Not something I see me buying.

Maybe I could buy a few Glocks to hand out to neighbors for fighting the zombie apocalypse. But HiPoints would be cheaper and revolvers simpler and rifles more effective. So maybe not after all.
