I've owned and been issued several. I love to shoot my Sig, but I love to carry my Glock since I'm smaller in stature. I shoot expert with both, but I hate the GLock trigger. All in all, if my life depends on it, I'm very comfortable reaching for my Glock.

Iwas watching "Full Metal Jacket" and I fell asleep on thc couch. I had a horrible nightmare.
R. Lee Ermy was trotting a platoon of eagles (yes, with feathers) past my house. they were chanting,

"If I can't use a rock,
just give me a good ole' Glock

I don't want no teenage queen,
just give me my G19

(Sound off...)

I don't want to own a gun,
I just want some Glockin' fun

I don't need a thumb safety,
on the trigger's fine with me

(Sound off...)

I don't need no stainless steel
I just love that plastic feel

It don't need no special care
it's my gun we make a pair

(Sound off...)

Bury it in sand and mud,
cover it with toe jam crud

Dust it off and hose it out,
that's what shootin's all about."

Oh the humanity!

(just kidding big guy)

Braaaains... BRAAAAAAAAINS... Oh shit, wrong infection! Razz Yep, I'm infected, and yes they multiply like fucking rabbits. My first pistol was a G26 for CCW... now it has little/big brothers G21SF & G20SF... trying to keep them separated so they don't breed into a G17/34/17L... it's tough, they're wily little bastages! Big Grin

One of my dear friends HATES THEM. Yet he will, when prodded, sheepishly admit that Glocks are the pistols with which he is most accurate and that their reliability is almost unquestionable. He will one day step out of the darkness and shame into the light! Big Grin

When I watch a great Glock shooter - pros like Dave Sevigny for example - I really want to like Glocks, because they seem to have so much potential. Unfortunately, reality sets in everytime I pick one up and/or fire one on the range. Sure I could forcibly adjust my natural wrist position to accommodate the odd grip angle, and I could tell myself the vague, mushy trigger pull isn't that bad, but fortunately I have options which don't require me to accept such unnecessary compromise. Nonetheless, I still keep an unfired Glock 19 in my safe. During my most recent attempt to like Glocks I bought two Glock 19's. I took one to the range a few times, but it was just as I'd remembered (as if it would have changed), odd grip angle and mushy trigger pull, and nothing about it made living with those attributes worthwhile. I sold the one I had fired, but I kept the second, even though I don't intend to ever shoot it. I keep this gun in the safe so I won't be tempted to buy another one. Whenever I get the itch to buy a gun, and Glock drifts into my list of options, I go to the safe and pull out the safe queen so I can remind myself why I don't like shooting Glocks. I can then pull my CZ75BSA out and remind myself how it is the best $400 I ever spent on any gun...

I don't know how it happened, but I ended up buying a G19 this past weekend. Thinking of adding a G20 10mm to the fold now...I'm gonna need a bigger safe.

I have made many serious attempts to like Glocks, last night being the most recent. Unfortunately, they just do not fit me well at all. I shoot reasonably accurately with them and I believe training would iron out the slightly awkward pointing of the weapon for me, but there are two downsides that are the deal breakers for me. First, I can't seem to hit the mag release with my thumb for the life of me. I mean I really have to twist the weapon to get it. This is mainly due to my short fingers but it makes it pretty hard. I could try an extended mag release, but issue #2 makes me not care so much. Second, with both the G19 and G26, I seem to often pinch my palm between the mag plate and frame on reloads. This simply doesn't happen to me with the 226.

Maybe I'm being picky, but I don't feel like I should have to try so hard to like the weapon. Don't get me wrong, Glocks are great weapons and if they work for you, more power to you. They're just probably not for me.

I found my self in need of a plain and simple good bug for my ankle, did'nt want to carry the S&W 36 anymore and i was looking for a Walther P99 compact in 40S&W it was a six month search and never found it in SA format mind you then i thought I would settle for 9mm and still couldnt find it so a friend at a gun shop told my to try the Baby Glock and with the right rig (galco ankle glove) the Glock 27 has served me well, i have ten 40.S&W rounds as BUG in my ankle and i know when i pull that trigger it gets the job done. having said all that i dont over all like it and much less compared to my Sig 228 or even the new 229SAS GenII models but if you look at the Glock as a simple tool then i feel the Glock has a place in the gun world.

I bought a G22C because it was a reasonably priced .40 with decent magazine capacity. I really like the way that they break down, pretty simple. True it's a little light, and after thirty or forty rounds of .40 the web on my right hand is rather upset with me, but it's nice to have a weapon I can load, lock in the gunvault under the bed, and know that it will be there when I need it.

With that said, I love my P232 as well, very nice overall. But, my all time favorite gun is my Goldcup .45 in SS. I truly love shooting this weapon.

Next on the radar is a good 9mm probably going to come down to glock or sig though.

AS much as I would like to like Glocks, I can't. I just sold my G19. It was my wife's until I bought her a 9mm XD. After that, she no longer wanted to shoot the Glock. I found, that in my hands, throwing the G19 at someone was more dangerous than if I shot at them. The only plus was that I saved money on targets. The Glocks are great guns, easy to clean and durable but, if I can't hit the target with it, it is useless to me.

Sorry Para, no more Glocks for me.

This Tread made me go take a serious look at a glock 19, after I picked it up I knew I would never own one. Sorry but I will stick to my recent purchase of a w german 228, and my all ss 229 dak . The Glocks and there poor fitting plastic frames just don't do it for me.

This time last year, I was saying the exact same thing as an XD owner. Now the XD is gone, I have a G21SF and have my sights set on a G19 next!

Never say never.
