I was looking for information on the Sealed Mindset Commanders...and ran into a real surprise. Ernest made a batch of very special Commanders, I've read he only made 40 or so, for Sealed Mindset. The surprise for me is that they are right here in New Hope, Minnesota...Just to the NW of Minneapolis in the Metro Area. Ernest Emerson comes up here and conducts specialized training classes for Sealed Mindset periodically.

I do want to point out that Lt. Lawence J. Yatch II is a real American Hero. The path he chose could not have been more difficult, and he was badly injured while serving his Country. He spent two months in a military hospital relearning how to walk as a result of the wounds he sustained in the Iraq War. His resilience is amazing, and it's wonderful that he came home to his wife and is helping others to learn some of his surival skills.

Founders

The desire to help individuals and families learn the defensive skills to live a safe life began when Larry was in the hospital after being injured in Iraq. Larry had wanted to be a SEAL since he was 7 years old, so when the surgeon told him that he could no longer be a SEAL, he began to search for a new way to protect those around him.

Sealed Mindset was founded by Lt. (ret.) Lawrence J. Yatch II who is a U.S. Naval Academy Graduate and ten-year veteran of the
U.S. Navy SEALs. Mr. Yatch planned and led his SEAL platoons in the assault on the world’s largest oil platform in the most
extensive Special Operations mission in history during the opening night of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In the commercial
sector, Mr. Yatch has provided security and operational management guidance to international architecture firms, high net-worth
individuals, the Motion Picture Association of America, Walt Disney, SONY, FOX and Warner Brothers Studios.

Anne Yatch received her B.S. in Foreign Service and her Masters in International Security from Georgetown University in
Washington, D.C. During her career, Ms. Yatch worked as a consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton and as a curriculum developer and
logistics coordinator to combat movie piracy internationally and nationally. With her knowledge of the security industry and
unique perspective on the security needs of women, Ms. Yatch brings a trusted female perspective to the Sealed Mindset Team.

Mission
The mission of Sealed Mindset’s Firearms Studio is to provide everyday individuals with access to the knowledge, facilities and experiences necessary to confidently defend yourself and your family.

Anne believed Larry’s mindset, awareness skills, and training experience were essential pieces of knowledge that needed to be translated for the normal person. Together, Anne and Larry believed that these skills could do more inside the United States to keep families safe than anything they could do overseas. Thus began the journey to create The Firearms Studio, the most realistic and secure way for individual and families to defend themselves and those they love.

Television interview with Lt. Lawrence J. Yatch II about what it was like to be a SEAL for 10 years. This is actually a terrific, engaging interview and Larry tells some great stories. Excellent information gained by hard experience...Ernest hangs out with some good people...

In the interview with Armed America Radio, Mr. Emerson pointed out that the Knife Lottery turns into a big party and has to be held in a separate Ballroom. Winners come up to get their knives and have a shot of the good stuff with Ernie...

The Emerson FB page says that they will soon reenact the "Golden Ace" event as described on Page 10 of this Thread and reposted here. I don't know what the prizes will be, but the previous giveaway was the CQC-45 Prototype below (And I WILL be ordering some cards)... Smile:

quote:
And we have one deck, a very special deck that contains a very special card, “The Golden Ace”. This card is a Titanium Ace of Spades that is polished and anodized to a very special Gold color. In the spirit of Willie Wonka, the lucky person who buys the deck that has the Golden Ace wins an Emerson Grand Prize. The grand prize will be a hand-ground prototype full checkered CQC-45 Knife and a whole bunch of Emerson Swag and goodies that we'll be adding to as we go along. The prototype knife alone is worth $1,000.00.

Someone out there is going to be a very lucky card player and is going to take home a very sweet pot. If you are the one to get the deck with the Golden Ace, just get us a picture of you, the ace and the special code on the back of the card and all the prizes will be yours. Who will get the golden Ace? Who will it be?
Good Luck,
Ernest R. Emerson

If you want to 'dress up' your Emerson Knife, Ernest has partnered with Steel Flame Jewelry to offer some pretty sick upgrades. Some of it is Silver and Gold, some is steel. Then there are bracelets, rings, and I want the .45 Federal Thumb Studs:

So in the above post, you just buy a deck of cards off the website any time now and that might be the deck?

Hey Sam...I mean Chuck...I called them today about the Golden Ace, Ernie will announce the details at Blade 2013, so it'll be soon after that. I'll buy after he announces, but it'll be a fast sellout...

This is "The Conjurer", designed by Lucas Emerson in 2011. This is the sons first design, and I think it looks pretty darn good...He's only like 11 years old...
