President Donald Trump raised more than $4 million toward his presidential run in the 24 hours since he was indicted by a Manhattan grand jury

This would not surprise me at all. They have always wanted to silence the President.

A gag order for Donald Trump is 'extremely likely' once he's before a judge, legal expert says

Jimmy Dore on Mr. Trumps new ad.
Yeah, I don't think this phony indictment is gonna go the way they thought.
That's pretty powerful message.

Just saw a TV ad from the Make America Great Again PAC. First I have heard of them. It was an attack AD against Ron DeSantis saying he is not ready to be President.

I saw that last night. Pissed me off.

I wondered if it was a lefty group posing as a DT support group, but a cursory internet search suggests it is related to DT. I still have doubts this group is connected to DT. It seems more like an ad that opposition would run to stir up division among Republicans.

Like it or not, Trump has always run a scorched earth campaign against his primary opponents. For example Trump accused Senator Cruz's father of somehow being involved with the Kennedy assassination. He also insulted Heidi Cruz's looks. (Heidi is the Senator's wife.) And it wasn't a one off. He insulted her several times. So I have no doubt that President Trump has no problem with any attacks on Gov. DeSantis.

It remains my hope President Trump will learn something from the results of his last election. There is no doubt that he lost the support of some suburban voters and women voters, largely due to things that have nothing to do with policy. Like it or not, plenty of people vote on things not related to policy.

Do you even realize that Trump received almost 12 million more votes in 2020 over his 2016 victory? 12 million more voters joined the Trump Train. And did you know that his total in 2020 was more than any POTUS in U.S. history?

He didn't lose voters, he gained voters, a whole fucking bunch of them. Obama lost votes between 2008 and 2012. And the thing Trump learned in 2020 was that Democrats have taken election fraud out in the open and can get away with it. Just like this insane indictment, they are attempting to imprison political opponents.

Correct. No disagreement with that. But the anti-Trump voters came out in even greater numbers. All of the post election analysis that I saw noted a drop off in suburban voters and women as a percentage of the total vote.(Not referring to raw numbers.) The anti-Trump voters were very motivated to turn out. To be clear, I am not suggesting that Trump can't win. I think he can. But it's not going to be a cake walk. He is going to need every vote he can get. The base will turn out for him. But we will need to add voters to win. Things like insulting the looks of a candidate's wife will gain him zero votes. I'll also note that Trump endorsed candidates did not do well in the last congressional election.

Ballotpedia states that Trump endorsed 257 candidates in 2022 and 216 won, an 84% percentage.

Any more bullshit to tell us?

Here are the facts:

Here’s a recap of some key statistics from Mr. Trump’s endorsement campaign this year:

82 percent: Mr. Trump endorsed more than 250 candidates, and his 82 percent success rate is, on the surface, impressive. But the vast majority of those endorsements were of incumbents and heavy favorites to win.

8-2, 6-2: The former president set out to replace the 10 House Republicans who supported his impeachment. During the primary season, eight either lost challenges or retired before facing voters, while two survived. Among the eight Trump-endorsed challengers, six won general election contests and two lost to Democrats.

0-5: In the 36 most competitive House races, as determined by Cook Political Report, Mr. Trump endorsed candidates in five contests. All five lost.

1-5: Mr. Trump spent heavily on behalf of other candidates for the first time, and the results weren’t good. In the seven races across six states where Mr. Trump’s super PAC spent money, last month he won one (Ohio Senate) and lost five (Arizona governor and Senate, Michigan governor, Nevada Senate, Pennsylvania Senate). Tuesday night he lost the sixth in Georgia.

So yeah, if you count his endorsement of candidates that were heavily favored to win anyway, you're right. But if you take out the easy wins, as you can see, the picture is much different. Again to be clear, if Trump is the nominee, I badly want him to win. But if you think there is nothing he can do perhaps a little better this time, I respectfully disagree. Thank you.

This could really open up a great big can of worms that the Dems definitely don't want.

What if Republican DAs across the country threaten to go on political witch hunts for Dem Congress critters. You know, maybe have a grand jury investigate Nancy for insider trading? Or the ones found to have misused campaign money, or those funnelling money to family members. Maybe they can even even check out a few of Joe's shady dealings so he can be indicted when he leaves office.

Just a thought! It ain't ever going to happen.

Ummm, no. Definitely not.

And I'm saying that as a 2024 Trump supporter.

The GOP is a corporation. Some would call it a club. Corporations have no balls at all.
The corporation is chaired by a woman. She has no balls at all either.

The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

About the only thing I've come to expect from the GOP is that when the Dems have a majority in Congress, the GOP will bitch & moan about how they're destroying the country.

Then when the GOP gets the majority, and have a chance to do something about it, all they do is bicker among themselves & get nothing done.

Rinse & repeat.
