DeSantis Office: Over Half of Those Seeking Lifesaving COVID-19 Treatment in South Florida Fully Vaccinated

https://www.theepochtimes.com/...cinated_4003089.html

A spokesperson for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’s office said that more than half of those who are seeking monoclonal antibody treatment in the south of Florida are “fully vaccinated” individuals amid supply issues.

“More than half the patients getting the monoclonal antibody treatment in south Florida are fully vaccinated,” DeSantis spokeswoman Christina Pushaw wrote in response to a comment on Twitter that suggested that only unvaccinated people are the reason why there is a significant demand for monoclonal antibodies.

Florida, she wrote hours earlier, “is above average in vaccination rate” and that “more than half of the patients in south Florida getting monoclonal antibody treatment are vaccinated and have breakthrough infections. Vaccinated or unvaccinated -Denying treatment to Covid patients is wrong.”

Monoclonal antibodies are engineered immune system proteins that boost an immune response against an infection.

Earlier this week, the White House and Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced plans to control the U.S. monoclonal antibody supply due to distribution issues. According to HHS’s website in a Sept. 13 update, the agency “will determine the weekly amount of mAb products each state and territory receives based on COVID-19 case burden and [monoclonal antibody treatment] utilization.”

A spokesperson for HHS told CNN that Florida, Texas, Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, and Louisiana are using 70 percent of the supply of the drug.

“Given this reality, we must work to ensure our supply of these life-saving therapies remains available for all states and territories, not just some,” the HHS spokesperson said, adding that a new system “will help maintain equitable distribution, both geographically and temporally, across the country … providing states and territories with consistent, fairly-distributed supply over the coming weeks.”

Before the change, states and hospitals could purchase the antibodies on their own without going through the federal government.

“More than 50 percent of the monoclonal antibodies that had been used in Florida were going to be reduced,” DeSantis said on Thursday, adding that “there’s going to be a huge disruption, and patients are going to suffer as a result of this.”

On Thursday, DeSantis’s office said the state would deal directly with GlaxoSmithKline, a maker of monoclonal antibody infusion treatments.

“The Biden administration and their allies in media have claimed that Florida is using too much monoclonal treatment because of a low vaccination rate,” Pushaw told The Epoch Times on Thursday, “and Biden has lashed out at Governor DeSantis for opposing the tyrannical federal vaccine mandate.”

It's been 10 months since I've had it. My taste & smell still aren't right. Coffee smells like toothpaste. Tooth paste smells like butt hole.

Citrus flavors and loads of garlic or spice are the only thing that saves food for me. Somethings taste fine. Other things just don't taste the same. Like they are muted.

There was one on the west coast docked in Los Angeles, CA as well. And that one went highly under utilized too...

Apparently both ships, USNS Comfort and USNS Mercy, are currently at their home port in Virginia.

Here's some info from USNI News on those ships and their mission:

https://news.usni.org/2020/05/...e-of-medicine-at-sea

And a few snippets from the article...

quote:
Public excitement and relief greeted the "March arrival of the Navy’s hospital ships in Los Angeles and New York City for their COVID-19 relief mission. But the excitement faded as the ships treated fewer than expected COVID-19 patients and left for their homeports with muted fanfare.

USNS Mercy (T-AH-19) left the port of Los Angeles on May 15 after treating only 77 non-infected patients. The Norfolk, Va.-based USNS Comfort (T-AH-20) had returned to Virginia two weeks earlier after treating 182 patients in its month in New York City

[SNIP]

The white-hulled, 894-foot-long ships were designed with expansive surgical, laboratory and intensive-care facilities and 12 operating rooms. When deployed, about 70 civilian mariners operate each ship, and the embarked MTF’s size is dictated by the mission and beds planned, usually for 250 to 500 patients. Each ship can support a 1,000-bed capacity by double-bunking beds if needed.

It was those large accommodations that raised expectations the ships would relieve hospitals’ patient burdens in New York and Los Angeles. When Comfort was sent to New York City, dire estimates predicted hospitalizations at double the city’s 50,000-bed capacity. Comfort was part of the military’s support that included a federal medical station in the Jacob Javits Convention Center.

But neither ship came close to reaching capacity, prompting scathing headlines and social media criticism that the deployments were unnecessary and politically driven. Both New York’s and California’s governors had requested the hospital ships, and officials praised the ships’ early medical support. Stay-at-home orders resulted in fewer trauma cases and infected patients sent to the ships. “Mercy and its highly-trained medical personnel… was critical to our ability to respond in the first stages of the pandemic,” Mark Ghilarducci, director of California’s office of emergency services, said in a statement.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo was blunt in defending the mission to the nation’s virus hot spot. “Was it worth it to have the Comfort here to help 172 people? If you were one of those 172 people, and that ship may have saved your life, they’d say, you’re darn right it was worth it,” Cuomo said last month. That number “is nothing to be trifled with.” (The ship left after treating 182.) “I believe the Comfort not only brought comfort but saved lives,” he added.

Grandson got sent home from school because he "may" have been exposed to COVID.

Can't go back until he has a negative test.

His education next week will be checking fence line, shooting .22s, etc and so on.

That is some serious horse shit. Everyone in the damned country “may” have been exposed to Covid. Now these assholes are just making shit up because they feel safe doing it.

I'm still fighting our local school board over this nonsense, and spoke at a board meeting the other day.

Between last year and so far this year our district has "quarantined" 1,400 students. I don't believe this is lawful, and there are currently lawsuits addressing it in other parts of the state.

I asked both the county health department as well as the school district to provide me with the number of quarantined students who later tested positive, and were contact traced back to school exposure. They could not provide a single example.

Isn't that the goal? Keep the sick kids home, so it doesn't spread in the school?

The quarantined kids are those “exposed”. The isolated kids are those who are sick. The point being that sending the “exposed” kids home in the event they caught it isn’t doing a thing.

Maybe the desired people aren't getting rich from the use of monoclonal antibody treatment?

If the media were worth a damn at anything other than lying, they might ask...

Ginger Bimbo: We have to ration Regeneron treatments.
Media: Why? If the demand is high, why have you not taken steps to supplement the supply if the goal is to keep people out of the hospital?
Ginger Bimbo: Because we're complete and total morons and have no clue what we're doing. Next question...

On the contrary, when it comes to the snake oil vaccines, I believe they know exactly what they are trying to do- or at least whoever is really controlling this administration does. Obviously, that jackass Biden isn't making decisions; they are being made for him. If he doesn't have a clear script in front of him, he rambles off onto a side track that has no bearing whatsoever as to the actual conversation.

From the very start, this has been about two things. Money and control.

So my employer put a policy in place that either give them a copy of your vaccination card and you don’t need to wear a mask or wear a mask. They won’t force anyone to get the vaccine.

I had COVID back in March/April, confirmed with a PCR test. It was like having a cold and bronchitis at the same time. Today I went to CVS and did the rapid antibody test, showed up positive for IgG antibodies. The lady said that’s good as it means long term immunity…then she asked me if I wanted to get the vaccine. I politely declined.

I did ask about the Pfizer vaccine and which one they had available, she didn’t know that there was a difference in between the BioNtech and Comirnaty with regards to EUA and full approval.

White House: 'We Must Continue Admitting Unvaccinated Immigrants To Replace All The Workers Who Got Fired For Being Unvaccinated'

https://babylonbee.com/news/wh...r-being-unvaccinated

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Speaking on behalf of President Biden, Jen Psaki claimed today that we should keep letting unvaccinated immigrants into the country, since we need to fill all the roles of unvaccinated workers who got fired.

Psaki said it's the position of the White House that the flood of unvaccinated immigrants is a good thing.

"We must continue admitting unvaccinated immigrants into the country," Psaki said. "We must use them to replace all the workers who got fired for not being vaccinated."

"Our workforce is suffering -- all these businesses need more workers, and we just told them to fire everyone who hasn't gotten the vaccine," she went on. "Mexico is sending us thousands of workers every day to replace those crazy right-wing conspiracy theorists who won't get the vaccine. And yes, these new workers aren't vaccinated, either. But most of them aren't wearing MAGA hats, so it's an upgrade."

One reporter then asked if Joe Biden is aware of the border crisis, the pandemic, or the fact that he's president. Psaki OWNED the reporter like a QUEEN though, replying, "We'll circle back to that."

Some may be concerned that allowing waves and waves of immigrants to come in unchecked could be bad for the pandemic. According to Psaki, Dr. Fauci has informed her that immigrants can't spread the virus because they're on the "right side of history," in a similar way to how the virus can't spread at BLM rallies, Antifa riots, or Obama birthday parties.
