Trump just needs to get someone in there who will just say 10,000 deaths in U.S., maximum, end of story.

Whatever the truth is, however a moving target, however unsettling, is the only responsible answer.

No, Trump needs to hire someone who will tell the goddamn truth for a change and jettison the elitist "We know exactly what we're talking about" horse shit. There is inadequate information and data at this point to make 'any' predictions whatsoever. Focus specifically on what needs to be done and stop with the bullshit predictions that send people into hysterics. Both Fauci and Birx have developed inflated egos and a sense of self importance given how much time they've spent in front of the camera.

Australian statistics, as of 1100 3/31/2020

Aussie current situation and case numbers

Total # confirmed cases: 4625
National # deaths: 19

All States have schools open, exception VIC.
QLD, WA, SA and Tasmania have closed borders.

Overseas travelers entering Australia, are being quarantined for 14 days.

The majority of these confirmed cases were acquired overseas, associated with recent travel to Europe, the Americas or at sea (cruises).

Interestingly, the greater # of confirmed cases were for the 20-29 age demographic, female ratio being higher.

The MSM are in a frenzy to out do each other with the rubbish content.

I'm with Para as to the ending of this apparent Never Ending story.

Fauci and Birx are Deep State operatives. Unelected elites who are self anointed experts whose words are touted as golden. If memory serves Fauci was a full bore Hillary supporter too.

They are wielding far too much influence and power in this virus fight. Can 'em both!

Well, it's official. I tested positive for coronavirus. Today marks the first day I haven't required any fever reducer, so I'm at the end of it already. The worst was a week ago when I was miserable and immobile.

The good news is that once I'm done with this, I'll be immune. My symptoms only got better every day.

Tony.

**********************************************

Dang it man! Glad to hear you kicked its ass.
You know the saying " can't keep a good man down".
Did all of your family get tested?

No, just me. I was actually denied testing on Friday morning at the stadium where they were open to testing. I didn't meet the requirements, meaning I wasn't sick enough and I didn't work in the healthcare field and I'm not a first responder.

I actually had to get an appointment with Legacy GoHealth to walk into a clinic to be seen for cough and possible pneumonia. Once I got there I had a 101 fever and they did chest X-rays. They also tested me for the regular flu. The chest X-rays indicated two spots of pneumonia in my right lung and I tested clear for the regular flu. After that, they determined that I needed to go to the OHSU Emergency Department to be tested for COVID-19.

Only after a referral from a PA was I allowed to take the brain-tickler test. And they really didn't want to test me because I was not in bad shape. However, since my wife is an OR nurse there, they tested me to determine if she was still qualified to come to work.

And the fact that I'm married to a health care worker prioritized my test processing, so I got my results today.

The rest of the family has not been tested, but as of today, my wife is not allowed to go to work for two weeks and must remain symptom free.

Ever since I got sick and even before that, we kept our distance within the house and have been performing rigorous hand washing and disinfecting of surfaces. We cover our coughs and use hand sanitizer frequently.

Tony.

I'd be impressed if we ever got it back to $24T let alone paid it off. We are looking to increase it 20-30% just in the next six months. Plus the looming SS issues. We better hope Modern Money Theory is even partially correct.

Sorry but monetizing debt always leads to monetary collapse.

These are scientific dictators effectively trying to run our country. It's shameful. Even the reporters (well of course; they're hacks) try to defer to these experts over the President when questioning about policy and action. Sorry, no. Screw Fauci, screw Birx. They aren't in charge here. They need to sit down and shut up on matters of policy, these tyrannical experts.

Funny how experts with these worst case opinions are the only ones the media care to listen to.

Florida has details by county and city that is updated daily: Link.
You have to scroll down to and click the orange box that says see the report amd it will bring up a lengthy .pdf file. I'm disappoimted it doesn't list those that have recovered. Our county's first case has been reported as recovered several times, yet that information doesn't show up in the report.

Plus there's graphs in the report:

Assuming those numbers are accurate (which I'm not sure I'm inclined to believe) 87% of deaths and 52% of hospitalizations in Florida so far come from the 65 and up age groups. So the approach by the rocket science 'experts' and politicians is to put everybody in their homes and destroy private industry and the Florida economy. Jesus Christ! Why not put all the focus/effort/money on protecting those over 65 and suffering from immune deficiencies and co-morbidities and let the rest of the state get back to work. Roll Eyes

Wouldn’t you rather your govt tell you the truth and best guess estimates that they have with the info they have at this time??!! I don’t want some Obama era shit telling me there will be 10,000 deaths when even an infant knows that’s fake news propaganda.

200,000 deaths is a very reasonable best case guess. 2 million is a very reasonable worst case guess.

Do you think they just pull numbers out of thin air? Or is there a hundred years of epidemiology knowledge that they use to make best guestimations.

There's no difference in the two. Both are total BS. I personally want neither. Stick to only those things that are proven and known and stop with the BS projections based on nothing. And these elitist experts are some of the biggest BSer's out there right now.

Wait... what?

Many pages back, near the beginning of this thing, Dr. Fauci was being hailed as a voice of reason. Then he came up with some numbers some of y'all didn't like, so he had to go. Dr. Birx became the New Voice Of Reason.

Now Dr. Birx is coming up with numbers some of y'all don't like, so she has to go, too?

Trump should hire somebody that'll pull some numbers out of their ass y'all like?

Srsly?

Nicely stated Bisley. Ive been thinking here this evening about how to avoid buying products made by the chinese. I never purchase from Amazon. Only basics from WalMart. Here on in, if it takes a month to find a simple item, made anywhere but china, so be it. Ive had it with their global mess making. GHW Bush I believe was the one who stated china was going to be number 1 manufacturer on the globe. Building a adversary for future young Americans to die fighting against. At this point, I hope the corona goo eats their entire government.
