I read post on this thread and folks complain about another month of this shit. A month! A measly month! No analytical skills whatsoever folks. A month!? You’ll be wishing for a month.

I hate to say it but this shit drags out for months folks. Months. Into next year, possible. And perhaps likely.

Use your brain. Look what’s happening. A single month will hardly flatten the curve if at all. I can’t fathom a scenario where shit is back to normal in a month. Folks back to work. Shopping as usual. Malls, sporting events open, movies open. Not happening. This is a 12 to 18 month event.

A month! I almost laughed out loud and spit soda on the computer monitor.

Get it in your head that this drags out much longer than a month folks. This isn’t sky is falling panic talk. This is the actual effin reality on the ground.

Eventually they might come to the realization that sometimes you just got to rip the band aid off and get on with the show. Let the hospitals get overwhelmed, let the bodies stack up in freezer trucks and ice rings until they all can be buried or incinerated. You need to 70% or more of the population to get it to work towards herd immunity. It’s endemic, it’s now seasonal flu, and it ain’t going away. It’s part of our life now, like cousin Eddy. Shitters full Clark.

Feel better? What did you accomplish with that? Telling everyone that this may last into next year- just what exactly is the point of saying something like that?

Oh, yeah, this nonsense can last a long time. All that's necessary for that to happen is for some of the unattractive qualities of the human race to shine through, but the virus won't be causing it. We'll be causing it.

Having said that, I don't agree with your prediction. I think you're way off. People are simply not going to sit in their homes for months while their lives fall apart. Forgive me, but it's preposterous. Dramatic predictions don't impress me. I would feel foolish saying such things.

Everyone's an expert now.

That you have put up with this thread this long leads me to believe you'll find the humor in that!

And out of the sunset rides Dr Zelenko on a big WHITE HORSE just in time to save the Maiden! Big Grin

Dr. Vladimir Zelenko has now treated 699 coronavirus patients with 100% success using Hydroxychloroquine Sulfate, Zinc and Z-Pak [UPDATES]
TechStartups Team Posted On March 28, 2020

Last Wednesday, we published the success story from Dr. Vladimir Zelenko, a board-certified family practitioner in New York, after he successfully treated 350 coronavirus patients with 100 percent success using a cocktail of drugs: hydroxychloroquine, in combination with azithromycin (Z-Pak), an antibiotic to treat secondary infections, and zinc sulfate. Dr. Zelenko said he saw the symptom of shortness of breath resolved within four to six hours after treatment.

Now, Dr. Zelenko provides updates on the treatment after he successfully treated 699 COVID-19 patients in New York. In an exclusive interview with former New York Mayor, Rudy Giuliani, Dr. Vladmir Zelenko shares the results of his latest study, which showed that out of his 699 patients treated, zero patients died, zero patients intubated, and four hospitalizations.

Dr. Zelenko said the whole treatment costs only $20 over a period of 5 days with 100% success. He defines success as “Not to die.” Dr. Zelenko first posted his Facebook video message last week calling on President Trump to “advise the country that they should be taking this medication.”

A study by the National Institute of Health (NIH) also confirmed some of Dr. Dr. Zelenko’s findings. The study by NIH showed that Zinc supplementation decreases the morbidity of lower respiratory tract infection in pediatric patients in the developing world. A second study also conducted by NIH titled: “In Vitro Antiviral Activity and Projection of Optimized Dosing Design of Hydroxychloroquine for the Treatment of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2),” also showed hydroxychloroquine to be more potent in killing the virus off in vitro (in the test tube and not in the body).

Below is a video of his latest interview explaining the success of the treatment.

Yup, and just like that, I just saw another news headline asking the question if $2 trillion will be enough.

You know it's coming.
Continue this shit for another month...
...how many people can can pay the bills with the $1200, now add another month?
Not to mention, this shit isn't going to simply go directly back to normal overnight.

We are fucked, if not by the virus, the economy itself.

Stopped at the store earlier today and happened to notice the Easter candy aisle. Damn Cadbury Mini Eggs are like crack to a fat kid! You know what's great with Cadbury Mini Eggs, an ice cold Diet Coke!.... Wink

Had church services with my family in Utah this morning over Facetime. Thankful for the technology that allows us to do so. Truly amazing times we live in.

Sister-in-law commented how thankful she's been to have a break from running kids to soccer, baseball, dance practices over the past couple of weeks. Great time to slow the pace and get back to basics.

getting this word out is key to flattening the infection curve and stopping this thing.

key takeaways:

. disease lasts from 5 to 7 to 14 days
. how do you get it?
1) sustained contact with someone who has this disease - people with fever & aches
2) or someone who is about to get the disease - in the next 1-2 days will develop symptoms
. transmission of the virus almost exclusively from your hands to your face - eyes, nose, mouth
. air transmission - have to have very long sustained contact, 15-30 minutes in the same room
. unless you are a doctor / first responder, you don't need a medical mask... but
. if you wear a mask you protect yourself as you cannot touch your nose or mouth with your hands. and if you wear eyepro you have your whole face covered

https://www.politico.com/news/...-malaria-drug-155095

The Food and Drug Administration on Sunday issued an emergency use authorization for hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine, decades-old malaria drugs championed by President Donald Trump for coronavirus treatment despite scant evidence.

The agency allowed for the drugs to be "donated to the Strategic National Stockpile to be distributed and prescribed by doctors to hospitalized teen and adult patients with COVID-19, as appropriate, when a clinical trial is not available or feasible," HHS said in a statement, announcing that Sandoz donated 30 million doses of hydroxychloroquine to the stockpile and Bayer donated 1 million doses of chloroquine.

The move was supported by the White House, part of a larger Trump-backed effort to speed the use of anti-malaria drugs as a potential therapy for a virus that has no proven treatment or cure. FDA already has allowed New York state to test administering the medication to seriously ill patients, and some hospitals have added it to their treatment protocols.

"Let's see how it works," Trump said at a press briefing on Sunday, referencing New York state's efforts. "It may. It may not."

Trump has pushed to experiment with new therapies and not wait on the usual clinical protocols, given the unprecedented nature of the coronavirus pandemic. Asked by a POLITICO reporter whether his agencies should wait for more evidence on anti-malaria drugs, the president on Friday stressed the need for speed, alluding to disagreements with infectious-disease specialist Anthony Fauci — one of several officials who has privately counseled the president not to rush on unproven medicines.

“I think Tony would disagree with me … [but] we have a pandemic, we have people dying now,” Trump said, adding that he’d recently spoken with FDA and been frustrated by the agency's pace.

“They indicated that we'll start working on it right away. It could take a year,” the president said. “I said what do you mean a year? We have to have it tonight.”

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I am hoping this drug is effective, but it may be more effective early in the disease sequence and less so in the latter stages.

(see 41's post above re Zelenko) If NY only used the treatment in the most serious and advanced stages, the result may not be very helpful. Because then there is significant damage to the lungs.

Lots of other drugs are being looked at also.

Fouci likes to talk.

Trump should ban him from speaking publicly or giving any interviews until the testing fuckup is 100% resolved. 100%. And that doesn't mean absurdly restrictive criteria to get a test or a 7 year wait to get a result.

We (the world, this country especially) desperately needed a large nationwode push to let more people work from home. Of all the crap associated with this virus mess, hopefully this part will have lasting positive effects.

Damn shame it's coming this way, and may only be temporary, but it's a good thing just the same.

At least for those who can and want to.

Yeah. In an interview Lushy Nancy said the bills passed so far are a "small down payment". Wonder how much of that $2 Trillion went to her bar tab?

525 deaths in the US on March 28. Half that yesterday.

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/

And I saw on CBS just a minute ago that there are no new cases reported yesterday in Great Britain, and significant reduction in the number of deaths.

I wish the reports would contain information about pre-existing conditions like age, diabetes, obesity, previously compromised immunity, stuff like that. My reading leads me to believe that the majority of these people are already in poor health and they can't fight off the addition of COVID-19.
