Ohio class are boomers...a ballistic missile submarine (SSBN). Strategic deterrence. The USN will never say what they carry but the class was designed with the intent to always carry nukes. It would be rare for one to deploy without it's primary purpose.

The Navy no longer needed all 18 Ohio-class submarines, so it converted four of the boats—Ohio, Michigan, Florida, and Georgia—into guided-missile submarines (SSGNs).

The Trident missiles were removed, and 22 silos were converted to each carry seven Tomahawk land-attack cruise missiles. Each sub could carry a whopping 154 cruise missiles

The problem with the two state solution is the Palestinians. Their idea of a two state solution is the Jews give them Israel and go find somewhere else to live, but not in the middle east.

I don't see that happening...

IMO, the only solution for Israel is a one state solution where they maintain full and complete control of their territory. Palestinians have proven they will not accept any peaceful solutions except for the complete removal of Israel.

Correct me if I'm wrong, the Oslo Accords laid out the two-state plan, Israel would remove settlements, Palestinians would stop their terror attacks, borders would be recognized and deadline benchmarks were laid-out. Instead, Arafat refused to sign as the rise of Hamas and other extremists were undermining his support, and Rabin was assassinated by an Israeli extremist.

You are not incorrect, Camp David Accords, OSLO I, and OSLO II Accords have all been failed attempts at peace. The only solution a majority of Muslims in the region will support is the extermination of the Jewish state of Israel. They opened this can of whoop ass, now they’re crying for it to get back in the can. Too bad, don’t care other than Israel has every right to carry on.

No, they want them all to die

They've never been shy about that fact

They (most of Islam) want us, as Jews, to die.

An insider's opinion or perspective:

Why do Jews vote Democrat: Since WWII, close to 3/4 of Jews have voted for the Dems. 70 - 80 years ago, right after the war & Holocaust, it was the party seen as the more conservative and friendly towards the Jews.

Sometime around the 1950's/1960's, some voted out of misguided duty (maybe respect) to their parents. Most however, vote to appease, assimilate, and to try and fit in, fearful that the world would realize they were Jews and would turn on them again - as it has over the last 2,000 years.

Over the last few decades, it was/is mostly out of fear and cowardice. although, some Jews really believe in socialism, which was done when the Kibbutz movement in Israel pretty much died - or moved on to capitalism (again, decades ago). So, ignorance plays a role.

Under Obama, who spent his early years learning in an Islamic Madrassah, it was mostly out of fear, kissing up to several minorities that many Jews fear.

Most Orthodox, observant, or street-smart Jews, especially here, vote conservative, Republican or libertarian. Those who are not afraid of their identity. We've been hated forever. Chosen people: Chosen to get our asses kicked unless we form our own military.

Hopefully, most of those ~75% now understand and will vote differently. Many more are buying weapons and trying to learn to use them, maybe a bit too late.

Exactly.

The majority of Jewish people played the away game, for 2000 years, with a few hanging back home to keep the light on.

Yet, all they got for that were pogroms and very fragile times of the cold shoulder and nothing good, until the Holocaust.

There has been Hebrew people in that land since Abraham, the 400 years they were in exile in Egypt, their return(Exodus).
Then after the Hebrew 12 tribes separated, 10 to the north and 2 to the south, Assyria took the northern ten tribes captive and they were assimilated and "lost".
Next Babylon overpowered them in basically three waves and took them captive for 70 years, then there were three waves of return.

After the Hebrews first wave of return, King Cyrus invaded from the east concurred the capital, of Babylon and (basically the Persians under Cyrus took over Babylon and together with their near relatives concurring Assyria and this was Medo-Persia) then they expanded their control and Israel without a King, was controlled by them, then the Greeks, then Rome, who finally waged war on the Jewish people, destroyed the Temple and razed Jerusalem and the Jewish people were scattered.

But, in all of this, there was always some of the people, that identified themselves, followed their traditions and worship of God, as did those in captivity.

There were always some very few trickling back to the land for nearly 200 years, until the "birth" of Zionism and a "return", first kindled by Eliezer Ben-Yehuda when he revived the Hebrew language as a "common" language of communication and spoken language in the late 1800s, after this, the influx of Jewish people to the land increased, then in early 1900s Chaim Weizmann, who emigrated from Russia to England, was a chemist, and also a leader in the Zionist movement. England at war with Germany, used "smokeless powder" and their only supply up to the time of the war of acetone used in the powder formulation, was Germany. Chaim Weizmann was approached by Prime Minister Lloyd George and Winston Churchill and asked to help. He synthesized acetone from ethyl alcohol, as a "reward" England issued the Balfour Declaration of 1917.

This increased influx even more, and then after the Holocaust, the greatest return resulted, and the declaration of statehood 15 May 1948, with Chaim Weizmann as the first President.

Most people have understanding since then how we arrived to this point in history.

I did my best to be brief and not to derail the thread. So, consider this point of the valid claim the Jews have to our Homeland, as to the "Palestinian" claim. That's another "brief".

My data point sample size of 1 was a young Jewish coworker about 4 years ago, who was about 27 yrs old at the time. He was really proud of the prosperity of his parents' Kibbutz. But he went into detail about how they expelled lazy people who would not contribute, and how the Kibbutz exported products to the outside world for profit. The elderly and infirm were provided for by the community.

While he extolled the virtue of socialism's communal spirit and sharing the wealth within a closed system, in reality it was an open system of capitalism and compassionate conservatism which were responsible for the success.

He was an avowed Democrat, believing Team Blue was the true path to a beautiful world.

I think ignorance, or perhaps brain washing, is a big factor in his generation believing D means goodness and R means evil. That goes for all religions not just Judaism.

Barry's State Dept.

Trump needs to fire most of the State Dept. if he wins. The gall of these people saying we need to criticize Israel's actions.

There is no other military in the world that goes to such lengths to protect innocent civilians. 6 million leaflets dropped in Gaza to warn civilians to move, hundreds of thousands of texts and calls to civilians to move, knock bombs, medical help to injured civilians.

Israel mourns every single life lost, holds every victim dear, and grieves over the losses - sometimes even the other sides. War sucks, but the left seems to forget who started this one.

Hamas sets up launchers inside children's Boy Scout rooms, inside playgrounds, inside hospitals, and shoots dead anyone on the spot caught trying to leave. Not hearsay, i've physically have seen it, witnessed it.

There is no corroboration on the number of deaths from the hamas side either: I remember one funeral where the corpse fell off the stretcher, got up, and climbed back on.
The UN is the one backing up the numbers, or at least helping to push that agenda.

The Hate is overt, masks are off.

Naturally, the Israeli government knows that it's Obama behind this "ceasefire, two-state solution" horse shit, and they are not going to heed it.

Obama was openly contemptuous of the state of Israel when he was in office and there's no way the Israelis are going to listen to this shit.

I hope they pound the fuck out of Hammas non-stop.

Also, the now very public calls by Axelrod and the like, for Biden to step aside, is being fueled I'm certain by the Biden administration's initial stance on the conflict. President Grandpa has to be gotten the Hell out of the way so that the Dems can hold on to their precious Hamas-supporting Muslim votes. We can't be upsetting the baby-killers, can we?

Another One Bites The Bust (linked from The Jerusalem Post). . .

IDF takes out Hamas commander, Hamas claims destroyed Israeli tank

"Wail Asfa was one of the commanders who ordered the invasion of Hamas terrorists into southern Israel on October 7.

The commander of Hamas's Deir al-Balah Battalion of the Central Camps Brigade, Wael Asefa, was killed overnight on Sunday by an Israeli airstrike, the IDF and Shin Bet said on Monday.

The strike, which was conducted by an IAF fighter jet, operated on intelligence provided by the Shin Bet and Military Intelligence Directorate in carrying out the operation.

The Israeli security apparatus said that Asefa was one of the commanders of the Central Camps Brigade who ordered the invasion of Hamas terrorists from the Gaza Strip into southern Israel on October 7.

The Hamas leader planned subsequent attacks on Israel in the wake of the historic massacre."

A short video of Wail'n No More's elimination with a special air delivery of a high explosive is linked in the article.

7,000 pro-Palestinian protesters take over Brooklyn Bridge, call for elimination of Jewish state: ‘By any means’

video at link what a bunch of losers

At least 7,000 pro-Palestinian protesters shut down the Brooklyn Bridge during a march through the borough Saturday, openly cheering Hamas terrorists’ barbaric attacks on Israel — and justifying the murders of innocent mothers and babies.

“Freedom by any means, land back by any means,” declared Dorian, a 24-year-old protester from Queens, during the three-mile Flood Brooklyn for Gaza march, which began at 3 p.m. in front of the Brooklyn Museum in Crown Heights, not far from the Hasidic Lubavitcher headquarters on Eastern Parkway, where a Sabbath festival was being held.

“I believe the settler state of Israel must be taken down,” he said.

The demonstrators — holding signs with antisemitic slogans such as “From the River to the Sea, Palestine Will be Free,” and “F—k Israel, Justice Palestine” — headed north along Flatbush Avenue to the Barclays Center, and then converged on the Brooklyn Bridge, stopping traffic on the Manhattan-bound side around 6 p.m. as some scaled metal barriers and triumphantly waved Palestinian flags.

Cops shut down traffic on the Brooklyn-bound side as a precautionary measure.

Jason B., a Puerto Rico native living in the Big Apple, reiterated Edward’s sentiment, saying Israel was using the hostages as an excuse to wipe out the Palestinian people in Gaza.

“I’m in support of the solidarity of the Palestinian people because the genocide of now, I mean, there’s been so many times I can push you before you push back right?” said Jason, who was decked out in Palestinian accessories.

He chastised Israel for targeting civilians in its war against Hamas and asserted that Israel is committing the humanitarian atrocities it has accused the terrorist group of carrying out.

On the beheading of Israeli babies and children, Jason said: “Where’s the proof? Yeah, that’s the narrative that they put so they can put a bad name on the Palestinians.”

Two 24-year-old women from Crown Heights marched while holding signs depicting Israeli flags inside of hearts while claiming they support the movement to defund Israel and for the US to shred its alliance with the Middle Eastern country,

“I don’t think anyone could expect Palestinians to peacefully try to reclaim their freedom. I don’t think it’s very idealist and unrealistic…what do you expect? They have no way other way of freeing themselves,” said one of the women, who asked to remain anonymous.

One of the protesters was just 15 years old and bore a sign reading, “F–k Israel all my homies hate Israel” — a mockery of the Middle Eastern country made in the format of an internet meme.

If you ever wondered what it was like being Jewish in Germany in 1933. We are witnessing it here, in our universities, our cities, and in Washington DC.

Good. We need more of this.

Let those have eyes to see and ears to hear, realize the reality that is the driving force of this evil.
