The White House on Tuesday said the US believes Iran is preparing an imminent ballistic missile attack against Israel.

“The United States has indications that Iran is preparing to imminently launch a ballistic missile attack against Israel. We are actively supporting defensive preparations to defend Israel against this attack. A direct military attack from Iran against Israel will carry severe consequences for Iran,” a senior White House official said in a statement.

The US is prepared to do whatever it can to help Israel intercept anything Iran directs its way, similar to how the US offered its assistance in April, when Iran launched a wave of drones and missiles towards Israel — the vast majority of which were successfully intercepted, a US official said.

The scale of the anticipated Iranian attack this time was not immediately clear.

Tensions between Israel and Iran have ratcheted up significantly in recent weeks as Israel has stepped up its efforts against Hezbollah in Lebanon, an Iran-backed militant group. Israel on Monday launched a ground operation in southern Lebanon targeting Hezbollah.

Iran launches attack on Israel

A short while ago, missiles were launched from Iran towards the State of Israel.

The IDF stated in a message to Israeli citizens, "You are instructed to remain alert and precisely follow the Home Front Command's instructions."

"In the last few minutes, the Home Front Command has distributed life-saving instructions in various areas across the country. The public is asked to adhere to the Home Front Command's guidelines. Upon hearing a siren, you must enter a protected space and remain there until further notice.

"The IDF is doing and will do everything necessary to protect the civilians of the State of Israel."

The iron dome is on but there's been a question as to whether it's been adequately replinished.

Interestingly, I learned they have at least two other systems, something Arrow and David's Sling. I somehow like those names. I wonder if they have Gideon's Sword on standby.

This hinges on Iran as to how far they want to take it. If it's for show, that's one thing but if they are serious about this, things could get ugly very fast for them.

One thing to remember about Iron Dome is that it's not going to shoot down every missile or rocket.

Any that are calculated to strike empty targets (evacuated building or empty field) they'll ignore.

Also, no defense system is 100% effective.

That’s would be really bad. Israel launching a nuclear attack would cause a lot of issues globally.

I would guess, and hope, that they bomb the ever living shit out of Tehran , but I pray that this doesn’t turn nuclear. That changes so many things in such a way that cannot be undone.

There are many agreements to not use nuclear powers, and in using them, would cause many countries that support, or don’t object against Israel, to denounce them and stop all support, if not turn against them.

Let’s just hope that the IDF has some more pager style tricks they have planted, and wipe out the leading politicians and religious leaders in Tehran.
