Two Israeli Embassy Staff Members Gunned Down Outside Jewish Museum In D.C.

Late Wednesday evening there is currently a massive ongoing police response in northwest Washington DC outside the Capital Jewish Museum, after gunfire erupted just outside which killed two staff members of the Israeli Embassy.

"Two Israeli Embassy staff were senselessly killed tonight near the Jewish Museum in Washington DC," Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem confirmed in a post on X. "We are actively investigating and working to get more information to share."

The shooting occurred across the street from the FBI’s Washington Field Office, which is located very near to the museum, and Israeli embassy officials are working with local law enforcement and the FBI.

It has further been confirmed that the Israeli ambassador is safe, and was not involved in the incident, and was not present at the time of the shooting.

Underscoring the seriousness of the killings, which appear to have targeted an event which took place at the Jewish Museum, US Attorney General Pam Bondi amd acting US Attorney for DC Jeanine Pirro are currently on the scene in the aftermath.

Ted Deutch, the CEO of the American Jewish Committee, has described that his organization was hosting an event at the museum and has issued an initial statement:

"We are devastated that an unspeakable act of violence took place outside the venue."

"At this moment, as we await more information from the police about exactly what transpired, our attention and our hearts are solely with those who were harmed and their families."

Israel's ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, has also issued a statement calling it a "depraved act of anti-Semitic terrorism":

The suspect in the shooting has been identified as a 30-year-old man from Chicago, Washington, D.C. Police Chief Pam Smith said.

Tensions have been running high following Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's declaration that a new phase of the Gaza War has begun, dubbed 'Operation Gideon's Chariots' - which aims to fully eradicate Hamas and end in a full Israeli military takeover of the Gaza Strip.

When the vast majority of the population supports Hamas, they are collaborators, not innocent civilians. Like the Viet Cong.

Report: Hamas and Israel agree to 60-day ceasefire, Trump to announce details

Sources cited by Al Arabiya and Al Hadath on Thursday reported that Hamas and Israel have agreed to a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza. The report added that President Donald Trump is expected to announce the details of the agreement within hours.

According to the sources, US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff was informed of both parties’ acceptance of the ceasefire proposal.

An Israeli diplomatic official has denied the report, saying that Israel is unaware of Hamas's agreement to Witkoff's proposal. In addition, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that while Israel accepted Witkoff's deal, she has not heard that Hamas has accepted it. Hamas's Al-Aqsa TV also denied the report, stating that the terror organization is still inspecting the offer.

At the same time, senior Hamas official Khalil al-Hayya announced that he will hold a press conference at 9:30 p.m.

Earlier, Al Arabiya and Al Hadath obtained a draft of the “potential” agreement between Hamas and Israel. Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu informed families of Israeli hostages that Israel had accepted the new ceasefire proposal presented by Witkoff.

However, Netanyahu clarified that Israel’s agreement to the “Witkoff proposal” did not signify an end to the war in Gaza.

Hamas had earlier confirmed that it received the new proposal through mediators and was studying it.

Sources also indicated that Netanyahu was expected to meet with several ministers on Thursday evening to discuss the Witkoff plan. The meeting was set to include ministers of Foreign Affairs, Finance, and National Security.

The Witkoff document reportedly affirms President Trump’s commitment to the agreement and states that he will announce it personally at a press conference. The United States, Egypt, and Qatar are listed as guarantors for maintaining the ceasefire over the 60-day period and any potential extension. Witkoff is expected to oversee the negotiations and finalize agreement details.

According to the document, the agreement includes a 60-day ceasefire, with President Trump guaranteeing Israel’s compliance. Hamas is to release 10 living hostages and the remains of 18 individuals—half on the first day and half on the seventh day of the ceasefire. Humanitarian aid is to be delivered to Gaza immediately upon Hamas’ acceptance of the deal.

The document also stipulates that all Israeli military activities will be documented from the start of the ceasefire, with negotiations for a permanent truce to begin on the first day. On the tenth day, Hamas is expected to provide full information regarding all remaining captives.

I agree to your terms sir.

It seems Trump is taking some time off on the Israeli situation, I'm guessing in order to get other stuff done at home, and maybe wait until it's as clear as it could possibly be, if and when he pulls the trigger, that he waited plenty of time for Iran to rescind its nuclear program. But it ain't gonna happen. The Iranians are not the type of culture and politics that cares about their nuclear ambitions getting temporarily destroyed, they will just pick up the pieces and continue on until then become nuclear armed. It's what they do.

So that's my guess. The inevitable destruction of Iran's nuclear facilities is coming, it's just a matter of when.

That's my guess anyway.
