How much did they spend? Just curious.

I think this is interesting. You could call this “talking out of both sides of their mouth.”

The title of the press release is:
The Salvation Army's Response to False Claims on the Topic of Racism

quote:
But although we remain committed to serving everyone in need—regardless of their beliefs, backgrounds, or lifestyle—some individuals and groups have recently attempted to mislabel our organization to serve their own agendas. They have claimed that we believe our donors should apologize for their skin color, that The Salvation Army believes America is an inherently racist society, and that we have abandoned our Christian faith for one ideology or another.

Those claims are simply false, and they distort the very goal of our work.

After saying that, here’s what they write near the end of the PR.

quote:
In this case, the guide “Let’s Talk About Racism,” was issued as a voluntary resource, but it has since become a focus of controversy. We have done our best to provide accurate information, but unfortunately, some have chosen to ignore those efforts. At the same time, International Headquarters realized that certain aspects of the guide may need to be clarified.

Consequently, for both reasons, the International Social Justice Commission has now withdrawn the guide for appropriate review.

If the claims were “false,” then why did the Roll Eyes International Social Justice Commission withdraw it?

Indeed. Plus, they didn't outright withdraw it. They withdrew it for "appropriate review."

This is exactly like Apple and their plans to install spyware on customers' devices. After they got a metric crap-ton of backlash they first tried to explain the thing as being other than what it was, then finally "suspended deployment for review." Note: Didn't cancel it, outright, but suspended it.

We pulled way out of the Apple ecosystem when they announced their plans. We have not, and we will not, be going back.

Same with the Salvation Army.

Same with Facebook and all the other social media. Same with Amazon and Google. Same with GoDaddy. Same with our lame excuse for an "education" system and the joke that calls itself "news" media. Would be the same with major pro sports--if I'd ever followed them in the first place.

I'm fed up with having my freedoms infringed-upon and my morals impugned by SJW's and corporate panderers. I'm fed up with being force-fed lies.

The major organisation I worked for in Japan for almost eight years prohibited the presence of ANY Apple products on their premises. Arrivals were asked politely to place any Apple products in a Faraday cage box situated in the foyer security set-up.

Refusal to comply meant being escorted out of the building in front of everybody else - NOT the sort of thing a Japanese person would care for.

I will take a box or two of ACTUAL food to the Houston Food Bank. Not going to give them the opportunity to misappropriate funds I may give.

Has anyone reviewed their Annual Financials? According to them, they have 25K employees in the US at an average annual income of 28K each.
That's 700M annually. Now add in benefits, insurances, real estate, facilities maintenance, fuel, trucks, etc.

Their last annual stated revenue was 4B in the US.

How much of each $ do you really think makes it to shelters and the needy? .90 cents on the dollar is a pipe dream. More like .35-.40 cents on the dollar.

As long as the Salvation Army has an international social (in)justice commission, any backpedaling they are doing is just for show. The cancer has been identified.

I was saddened to hear this. The Salvation Army is a great charity as most of it's money went toward programs to help others, 75%, from what I have found through many watchdog groups who watch what charities do and rank them from good to bad.

The problem I have with some in the organization, is they are allowing certain things that are not correct and against biblical teachings, to be allowed to spread. Admonishing the 2 "authors", DiAngelo and Rogers, for research and their principles were wrong. Those two are known Marxists and are heavily against Christian teaching. For the S.A. to recommend those two "authors" is very wrong and they need to clean house,so to speak. The 2 "authors" history can be searched and they are not good. They are anti-family,at least having a mother and father in the house-which is actually biblical long before it was a "nuclear or white" issue. They want to cause issues amongst the classes/races in order to destroy our country/freedoms/way of life from the inside out and these are only a couple things I found out about them.

There is dissension in the ranks at S.A., as many who read what was going on and what the higher ups were doing, proclaimed it was a wrong idea and those that allowed it need to be accountable. In this day and age, it is not hard to research things and make a sound judgement from there. It is sad to see a good organization make a wrong turn and not apologize for it but try to hide it instead and try to change the way it was meant to be understood.

Redstone, please don't think that I'm singling you out, or picking on you! But your post isn't the only one like that. Yours just happened to be the shortest.

It also illustrates a mentality.

Me and my feelings? Fuck the Salvation Army. They want money? They can suck it out of a dead dogs ass, and see how much they get!

"Oh, but the money is going for a good cause, and it's a well run charity because $.95...."

Well, the Salvation Army should have thought about that before they shot off their now "woke" pie-hole. It's THEIR RESPONSIBILITY to look out for the people in need, and THEY fucked up. Well, now THEY get to explain to all of the people, the families that sincerely need them, how THEY fucked up and let them down.

And as stated, they ain't the only game in town.

Case in point-
I have a family. A mortgage, bills to pay, food I have to buy. I have responsibility for other people. I have a job that pays me for what I do.

I decided to talk shit about my employer, put them on "blast" all in the public. Clearly alienate and insult my employer. And it's able to be proven. But I deny it.

The people that give me money get extremely offended (rightfully so) and don't give me anymore money (fire me).

Who's responsible: Me or the people that give me money?

My kids & wife don't eat because IM A DUMBASS
The lights don't go on because IM A DUMBASS
The repo man is knocking at my door because IM A DUMBASS.

Not the people that give me money...
IM A DUMBASS! This one falls in my lap, and my lap only.

My only hope is that another reputable charity can really step up and take the Salvation Army's place.

Go "woke", go broke! And I'm absolutely fine with that!

I do charitable stuff every day. I never liked those bells and thank god with the closure of the Kmart I don't have to hear them everytime I open the door of the office Locally the important people ring the bell for several hours. I am not that important so I have not been asked.

CPD SIG, completely agree with all points.

Thank you for clearly stating that.

Am not looking forward to restraining myself with the poor soul ringing the bell outside of the Kroger... used to enjoy to stuff all the cash in my pocket into that kettle, however, he will hear from me, as politely as i can muster.

^^^^^^^^^^^^ this and it is a shame for those that it helped.

I am pretty sure by now the SA's coffers have really been affected. I do not get any joy from that. But they caused it. So now they have to accept the reality. Problem is these people never do and won't.
But everyone know's the reason.

Ok, I get it (sort of) but I just want to point out that the enemy here is not the Salvation Army (again, I agree they f'd this up).

The enemy is the SJW and the woke mob. Sure SA should not have caved even this little bit. But they are the ones that are losing, and those that they help.

The BLM are rolling around in their righteous millions that are still piling in, and no one gives a shit.

The SA being out a pile of donations? The cold the hungry, the in need. Yeah. I am still pissed. Dont give to SA, give somewhere, just dont celebrate it as some sort of victory or paint them as a bunch of overpaid, top heavy fatcats. That is what the Red Cross is for.

Thanks for not making this personal, I appreciate that. But like I said, I have benefitted from them in a personal way. They get a free pass from me.

When an entity adopts and promotes SJW false principles, it joins the SJW cause making it effectively and SJW. I benefited directly from the Boy Scouts. They made an SJW change. My principles are of superior value so I have abandoned the Boy Scouts.
