Draining the NFL swamp does not have to = no NFL

America vs NFL is an easy choice for me though.

Didn't the NFL deny the Dallas Cowboys' request to wear some kind of insignia on their helmets to support local LEO's after the Dallas cops were assassinated during the BLM march a couple of years ago?

So much for "free speech", huh?

Yes they did, and for reference that was just last year.

Other things prohibited by the NFL:

-Wearing purple cleats to bring awareness to domestic violence
-Wearing cleats that said "Never Forget" to honor 9/11 victims
-Writing "Find a cure" on a player's face with eye black to support breast cancer research.

Seems the NFL only allows freedom of speech for leftist narratives.

This is a good time for me to let you guys know that those members who continue to support the NFL are welcome to continue have discussions about the game without any interference from members who oppose the NFL.

If you have any questions about this, please ask now. We're not going to eat our own over this. We will agree to disagree and all will be well.

Thank you.

I will be watching my Skins still. I have already wrote them once. I will call/write PR director, owner, sales, and GM as well and let them know why I will not be attending games or buying any merchandise this year, and for the foreseeable future if they don't make their players show respect to the flag/Anthem.

I don't want the NFL to go away, I want them to right the ship. My efforts are going to be to that end. My fondest childhood memories are from going to RFK with my dad. Football is part of my life.

I encourage any members here that don't want to permanently give up football to do the same and write sales, executives, and PR of their respective teams. Getting mad and boycotting doesn't do anything to fix the problem, actively trying to get them to realize they fucked up might. If you do choose to boycott couple it with contacting teams and sponsors to tell them why you are not using their products any longer, otherwise your efforts are in vain.

If we don't say something, this madness will never end. Take a stand, make it known.

The "free expression" excuse is a damn lie. A total, complete lie. I posted this earlier, but a few examples of "free expression", and mind you, not all of these are uniform related, that were frowned upon by the NFL and levied fines by the same "tolerant" organization.

NFL Threatens Fines Against Players Who Wanted to Commemorate 9/11
In September 2016, three NFL players planned to wear cleats in honor of the 15th anniversary of the September 11 attacks on America. The NFL put a stop to it with threats of fines.

NFL Fines Player over Headband
In 1986, an NFL player was fined $5,000 for wearing a headband with a company logo on it.

NFL Fines Player over Breast Cancer Advocacy
In 2015, the NFL fined a player $5,757 for wearing eye black that read “Find the Cure” in support of breast cancer awareness.

NFL Orders Players Not to Honor Fallen Police Officers
In July 2016, in honor of five police officer murdered in cold blood by a Black Lives Matter activist, the Dallas Cowboys wanted to honor the slain officers with a small helmet decal. The NFL put a stop to it.

NFL Fines Player for “Thrusting”
Just last year, NFL player Antonio Brown was fined $23,309 for expressing himself on the field by “thrusting.”

NFL Fines Player for “Hopping”
Just last year, NFL player Trai Turner was fined $9,115 for expressing himself on the field by hopping.

NFL Players Fined for Mimicking the Taking of a Photograph
Just last year, NFL players Victor Cruz and Odell Beckham were each fined $12,145 for expressing themselves on the field by mimicking the taking of a photograph.

NFL Fines Player for Marching in Place
Just last year, NFL player Terrelle Pryor was fined $9,115 for expressing himself on the field by marching in place.

NFL Fines Player Over Raising Awareness for Domestic Violence
In 2015, NFL player William Gay was fined for wearing purple cleats meant to raise awareness for domestic abuse.

A DUI will keep you out of the military. A DUI while serving derails your career. Likely get the door shown to you, no retirement. There are plenty of folks that want to serve and abide by societies rules.

The same is not true for NFL millionaires.
Winning is more important than felonies even.
Felons are more important than America.

Even giving their middle finger to the flag and national anthem, by kneeling, is okay just win for me.

They still target President Trump, but miss the fact that most Americans don't take kindly to grossly disrespecting the anthem and the flag.

Thanks, Ackks! The article is an excellent summary of the common man's attitude and position regarding what's going on with the NFL protests.

And the comments posted with the article are generally just outstanding! Here's an example:

quote:
The NFL, like my country, has changed so radically I don't recognize it anymore. My love for the game is now relegated to long-ago childhood memories.

Interest in other celebrity-oriented entertainment is also escaping me. The idea of watching a movie in which the lead actor calls for the death of everyone who voted for Mr.Trump repulses me. They literally wish me dead. Or watching a program where the lead calls for Trump's assassination, or wants to punch him in the face, or claims Trump-won states deserve the death and destruction visited upon them by recent hurricanes (BTW, Houston is overwhelmingly liberal & voted bigly for HC, but many of these Hollywoodenheads are completely ignorant about the very country that enriched them).

Comedians who I once thought funny, are now anything but. Entertainers I once admired, I now find disgusting. They piss & moan like spoiled children who didn't get their way. They live secluded from ordinary people, forgetting that they are actually businesspeople, needing to appeal to All Americans to buy tickets for their movies, purchase their CD's, and go to their concerts and stadiums.

Whether they like it or not they are businesspeople, they just don't know how to behave like businesspeople. If they took the time to think, perhaps look at the red-soaked 2016 electoral college map, they might realize how many of their customers they insult everytime somebody sticks a mic near their mouth.

63 million people voted Trump. Out of 3,142 US counties. 489 went to HC. 2,623 to MrT. That's TWO THOUSAND, ONE HUNDRED, AND THIRTY FOUR MORE THAN HC. I know, I know, H had more total votes (2.9 mil), & that might even be a more compelling argument if she had actually won that many more votes, but the fact is, voter fraud was rampant, with illegals openly admitting to voting.

Officials have uncovered many other forms of voter fraud as well. Even at that, H won the uber-left People's Republic of California (the greatest illegal voting, BTW) by 4.2 million -a state that has slid so far left, it has run into Hawaii. They can't get any lefter, nor can they get any further from the politics of the rest of the country.

There is a reign of terror going on now from media-empowered lefties seeking to impose upon us their most intrusive policies. So many live in fear, concealing their conservatism, lest they lose their jobs or suffer the wrath of lefty. This explains the wildly inaccurate presidential polling last year - people were uncomfortable telling pollsters their intentions for fear of the intolerant & often times violent Soros-funded thugs, right up to the moment they pulled the curtain and cast their votes in private.

The issue with the NFL has nothing to do with freedom of speech, because that is between the Government & the Governed, not between employers/employees, nor between citizens. Private industries CAN regulate speech spoken on Company time, by those wearing Company uniforms, on Company property (re NFL, I should say OUR property since it's tax dollars that fund the arenas in which these millionaires play).

-Starbucks’ CEO repeatedly shoveled his politics on customers over and over again. After Trump’s travel ban, he announced the hiring of immigrants only. Americans voted with their wallets, & Starbucks has lost 24% of its brand value, & that CEO was put on waivers.

-Target squandered 30% of its stockholders’ wealth, or $15 Billion, adopting far-left, pro-transgender policies. Now, they're begging for people to come back.

-Twitter went full-on SJW, and immediately lost tens of millions in ad revenue. -YouTube, fond of censoring conservatives, now has advertisers pulling out, and losing millions in ad revenue.

-Liberals are so out of it, it's unimagineable that others don't agree with them or -they don't care.

Can you imagine Sears, GM, or IBM disrespecting the National Anthem? Saying "screw you" to half the nation, but still expecting everybody to continue buying their products? When MLB went on strike in 1994, it took all the way until 9-11, 2001 for fans to come back in numbers not seen since the early 90's - and that was just a strike.

The NFL is dissing the POTUS, everyone who voted for him, all the veterans who've ever shed blood, lost limbs, or died for this country, all soldiers still overseas on far-away battlefields, ALL people in law enforcement, all firemen, and many others who put their lives in jeopardy, so that these players, averaging $2 million a year, can commit career suicide, depriving Americans of a brief moment of escapism every week from stressing out over Rocket-Man, or all the nuclear-tipped ICBM's currently pointed at every major city in America.

Thanks,

Sap

Do you see what they are doing? Trying to build a case of Trump being a racist that they say he is. Trouble is, he didn't "attack black athletes" he said PLAYERS.

And no one is correcting this which isn't unexpected...

Thank you Para. I’ll also say that whoever posted about the NFL denying the Cowboys permission to put a small decal on the back of their helmets honoring the Dallas police officers killed at the BLM march has a great point I hadn’t previously considered. When taking that into account the NFL is taking sides, and the wrong one at that. The NFL in essence isn’t promoting open discourse but rather promoting one side over another. I can deal with protesting but not if the NFL is going to allow it while at the same time ruling against honoring police/military/firefighters etc. I’ve got some serious re-evaluation to do.

They're building a narrative for themselves. That's it. It's an insular world surrounded by a one-way mirror and all they see is each other. For example, they (in their bubble) talked up Trump's craziness and bigoted views until the election, convincing one another that the idea of President Trump was a fantasy that no one believed in. Well no one they knew anyway.

Go back and watch the election night videos and you see authentic, real dumbfounded people. How can this be, they asked. This is impossible! No one I know would even dream of voting for Trump.

They're going to be surprised at the shocking revelation of sliding ratings and eroding viewership. "No one I know thinks these players are doing anything wrong!"

It's the same thing as "No woman I know would ever dream of voting for that pig!" Except they did. In droves.

The difference is we aren't the ones virtue signalling. We vote with our wallets and in the booth. They vote with twitter and facebook where a few hundred or thousand of the loudest cry babies catch their or MSM eyes.

Silently we go about our business and get shit done. Eventually they will wake up one day and realize that Madonna and Ashley Judd don't reflect the people of this country outside of a dozen major cities.

I agree. As soon as I saw Joe Schmoe burning his Steelers gear in his back yard, I knew the NFL was in big trouble.

Not a big NFL fan so my boycott doesn't mean much
as far as financial support or lack of support,
however have been an NBA fan, and with the Golden
State Billionaires Steph Curry and Co, Lebron, and now
the head coach taking shots at Trump, add in Spurs Coach
Poppovich.

Their true colors are coming out, twisting and turning
the whole thing into a Trump Issue and racism to advance the
cause.

And now another NBA superstar Coach of the Spurs

Received the below in an email. I struck through the conjecture about motives as it detracts from
the question. Who is Joe Lockhart?
=============
"So the attention is the NFL Players taking a knee.

Is it something they all just suddenly felt was needed?
Are they against America?
Are they against Veterans?
Are they against the Flag?
Is it police abuse that has struck a nerve?
Is it abuse on Blacks in General?

What I honestly believe is, it's the Democrats again, grinding the organs to get people to act in ways they don't even understand.

The NFL got a new executive vice president of communications and top public relations official. Joe Lockhart.

Who is Joe Lockhart?

He is the one grinding the organ at the NFL....for the Democrat party....but deeply for the Clinton's. Hillary needs a platform to sell her book and get on TV. I think it was safe to say, majority of America wished she would just go away. So how can the grinders get her some attention? Send out a tune famous people will dance towards...and get a reaction from the President. Now she is on TV and doing the one thing she has always done...collect money.

Joe Lockhart sold his home to the Obama's this past May.
Joe Lockhart was Bill Clinton's spokesperson during his time as President.
Joe Lockhart was John Kerry's senior advisor.
Joe Lockhart was the one who started the rumors on President Bush. The lies about calling CBS to run stories ect.

Joe Lockhart is very connected into the Democrat Party....willing to do anything to help the agenda. He is one of the believers of the ends justify the means for political points.

I know this might not be of interest to some but there was a time when Facebook was considered not political and open for anything...that is until Joe Lockhart joined as their company spokesperson....then the censorship went into force.

Was it just timing...I doubt it."
==================
I do not know if Mr. Lockhart is a central player in these events. Seems worthy of some scrutiny.
The owners will have to actively participate in draining the swamp, to remain viable organizations.
