Jerry Jones's announcement posted on FB is getting comments so quickly that you cannot keep up. Check it in AM if you do FB.

Even the singer of the Anthem took a knee!

http://abcnews.go.com/US/singe...ee/story?id=50065070

Meghan Linsey, the singer performing “The Star-Spangled Banner" at Sunday’s Seattle Seahawks and Tennessee Titans game in Nashville, took a knee on a field with no players present after finishing her rendition of the national anthem.

As did the singer in Detroit at the Atlanta Lions game

I look forward to hearing what happens to attendance and ratings.

The Left has politicized everything. You can't escape it going to movies, watching TV, going to a concert, going to a football game.

My wife's cousin tells me that people in the stands were booing the players in multiple games across the country, even for the Patriots. I think we are a microcosm of normal America and yes, people are sick of this shit in movies (box office is down double digits compared to last year), TV, music, and now professional sports.

The left is desperately trying to make kneeling, transgenderism, anti-police rhetoric, etc. all seem normal for America and the citizens ain't buying it. And Trump knows this.

I was really (REALLY) disappointed with the Seahawks today. Hiding in the locker room while the National Anthem was played? Cowards, each and every one of them.

Their team statement (above) makes no sense to me.

If they're really too daft to understand what it means to be an American, if they don't understand how lucky they are to be here...wow.
I hope the stadium is empty for their next home game.

I don't know how the NFL fixes this mess.
People are seriously pissed at these morons.

Thankfully, there's college football to watch.
That hasn't been ruined yet.

OK, Seahawks, I'm in but give me a little help on the start up so I can carefully articulate your position to those benighted souls who think you are just lolling in the life-long bubble of entitlement that comes to those that can catch a football and don't have a clue as to what you are bitching about.

So, who are those that would deny you your most basic freedoms, a few names, thank you very much. Oh yeah, before I forget, along with each name, kindly give me a true bill, so to speak. Specify exactly what that individual has done to you to deny you of your rights. And if as I suspect most of you don't know what I'm talking about just never mind.
If you have somehow been overlooked in this maelstrom of injustice then give me a team mate's name, the one upon whom injustice has been heaped and again specifics please, oppression and oppressor. Don't bore me with 'injustice' or the like; just by the numbers, who are you bitching about and what did he do.

I noted in the letter signed by your team mate Bennet, that he was complaining about how the po-lice shot Treyvon Martin. Please don't waste my time with this kind of foolishness. Spend a minute and impress me with how tough you have it.

And a note: If it is the IRS that is oppressing you, I take back all of my skepticism. You are probably right, just say so and take comfort in your Gulfstream 4 and I'm with you guys.

This weekend here in UK, twenty-two members of two American football teams knelt down with their backs to the podium as YOUR national anthem was played here at Wembley.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/american-football/41380275

Said to be a protest by BLM against the 'violent treatment of black people' in your country, these overpaid primadonnas need a good ass-whoopin' for sure.

My buddy Rick and his two sons, who had paid out over $800 to watch the game, walked out of the door, and left these sorry MOFOs to it.

The Jerry Jones stuff isn't true. I've seen at least two versions of his so-called statement. They appear to be made up.

My email to the Redskins. I don't want to turn off my beloved Redskins, but yesterday put me one step closer.

quote:
Dear Redskins,

I have been a lifelong diehard Redskins fan, attending games since the 80's. Thanks to your players kneeling I will not attend a single game this year, I will not buy anything with the Redskins logo on it or that contributes to the Redskins bottom line in any way. You are playing with fire by allowing your players to protest the National Anthem. You are quite likely to burn yourself in the process. Maybe you should take a clue from Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys. That is how a real true American handles a situation like this. Mr. Snyder you are the adult in the room, take control of your team.

Sitting during the National Anthem is not standing up against anything. Don't be a coward. Tell your employees if they want to stay on the team to stand at attention during the singing of the National Anthem. This is the way you show unity.

If you want to protest, I'm fine with that. Protest any way or time that you or your players feel fit, other than the hour over the 16 game season it takes to sing the Anthem. That leaves 364 days and 23 hours to protest without spitting in the face of those that died protecting the flag or folks like me who just plain love America.

Any money I may have spent on games or merchandise this year is off of the table. It remains to be seen if I turn off the TV too. I counted six people kneeling down during the Anthem, please tell your players they are pissing off the fans that pay their (and your) paychecks.

Thank you,

Jesse

Yep it appears made up.

Here is an article explaining team stance on it.

At the bottom there is a poll. Currently 76% of respondents would be angry if a player didn't stand.

Does anybody have solid links or reputable sources to the sponsors of the NFL as well a good sources for links for the individual team? There seems to be so much mis-information and I'd like to make sure my efforts in letter writing are reaching the right people.

I found this one.

So, should the NFL implode and the sport die altogether, I'm wondering how this will change college football. Let's face it, college football is merely an audition for the NFL; is it not? Or all the fine players there merely for the education?

With the lost incentive of NFL prospects, those fine outstanding joots will simply not go to college. Then with lack of interest, the sport dies as does the business of college football (merchandise, school donations from big donors, etc...)

Anyone else thought about this? Football dies and money and talent gets diverted to soccer, perhaps?

Someone should start a petition to remove the NFL's anti-trust exemption.

Hell, if they want to flip their noses at the US, they shouldn't enjoy the benefits of it.

*THAT* would get their attention.

Bart: Alright, we'll settle this like men, with our fists.
Hedley Lamarr: Sorry, I just remembered . . . I am armed.

Back in the early 70s, I liked to watch professional football. I was a huge Steelers fan as a kid. Since then, I sporadically paid attention to the sport, but not at all in the past twenty or so years. I really don't care to watch thugs beat the hell out of each other while being paid millions of dollars.

Yesterday, though, I was really impressed with one young man. One guy who gets it.

Army Ranger, West Point graduate, veteran of two tours. He was the only one on the Steeler team to emerge from the locker room to stand with hand over heart. Reminiscent of Rocky Bleier who I had immense respect for as a kid. Vietnam vet who recovered from being wounded in action to come back and play pro ball.

I have a lot of respect for this Steeler. The rest of the team and the rest of the NFL can go fuck themselves. I have no interest whatsoever in watching them.
