Smokey and The Bandit was a LONG time ago. Wink

I believe Coors is still GTG, HOWEVER, I seem to recall some issue about them when Colorado started to tilt Purple-to-Blue, it was around the time all the gun-control bills were getting pushed through post-Columbine and others. There may have been some open throated support behind certain bills and politicos by people from Coors. I do enjoy a cold banquet beer but, a Montucky Cold Snack isn't too far off....

I'll let the Colorado locals confirm or, set-straight this one.

Not happy, huh? Would this be the guy that nonchalantly said that the US wasn’t even the biggest market?

You guys need to get glasses with a widget etched in the bottom. When you pour into a widget glass, it assists in releasing CO2 and maintains a better head on the beer.

Miller Light says "hold my beer Bud Light".

Sorry, but I'm just not feeling the rage against Miller Lite.

1st of all, this commercial is not a reaction in response to the Bud Light fiasco, as it came out at least 2 months before.

2nd, although I have no problem with pretty bikini clad women, I also have no problem with women who want to be recognized for their brains or productivity. It's ridiculous to infer that women can't be appreciated BOTH for beauty AND for talent. But, whatever.

Don't get me wrong, it's not a great ad, it just doesn't offend me like the whole Bud Light fiasco.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
-- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Did Miller Light stay on this disaster of a marketing path or did they do the smart thing and shut up?

"So here's to women, because without us there would be no beer!"

Horseshit, but for the sake of argument, to sort of paraphrase Al Bundy: "Without you, there would be no NEED for beer!" I would also note that Miller DID choose a fairly attractive woman for the ad, and put her in a short(-ish) snug fitting skirt and sweater. That ad is chock full of double standards.

The widget is in the can of Guinness and works that way as you pour into the glass.

As chellim1 said, its just not a great ad.
It came out 2 months ago, and it's not offensive as much as it's just a ham-fisted, clumsy while trying to be humorous, 'strong women too' type of ad.

Wife and I were having lunch at the campground we are staying, they have a bar and grill. Bud Light truck Happened to pull up why we were there. So I asked the bartender How's the Bud Light sales have been going ? She said they are selling 1/5 to 1/6 the amount of Bud Lights that they used to.
