I don’t drink anymore, but Yeungling has always been a far better beer than anything Budweiser makes.

No, here’s the fucking deal, Don: We’re tired of our institutions and culture being infiltrated and perverted with this stuff. The guy who was a die-hard Bud Light guy was a NASCAR and baseball in the spring and summer and NFL and bowling in the winter kind of guy. You’re taking all that away from him and now you’re taking his fucking beer, too. No, they want to ruin the icons. Fuck ‘em. They can have ‘em.

It occurred to me that transexual aside, this is still a marketing disaster for AB.

Bud Light is a beer long known for accompanying a variety of sports, in arenas, stadiums, race tracks, tailgates, back yards, basements and living rooms.

If they had run the same commercial with a man or a woman it would have also been a disaster. They chose a commercial theme where the spokesperson had no idea what March Madness was, didn't care, and clearly had no intention of ever caring. All the spokesperson cared about was her/him self. The message was forget all that sports stuff and look at me and drink this beer.

The TS element just made it that much more offensive to their target market.

Hardly. That wouldn't have mattered one bit. It's all about bud celebrating a sick, perverted asshole who gets his sexual fetishes off playing a woman. Worse, he's also pretended to be a young girl.

No, the sports thing is irrelevant. I honestly wouldn't have cared one bit about that. It's 100% this transsexual social contagion, and that's it and that's all.

Meanwhile, coincidentally, I discovered this while cleaning out the basement:

Can of Bud Light, right? Well, kinda... The top:

Some kind of commemorative thing? Thought it might be collectible. Been meaning to research it to see if it had any value.

Maybe I should've got on that a bit more quickly

(Btw: I've no idea whatsoever when, how, or where I got the thing. It's probably been sitting down there for twenty years or more.)

Coming from an old can collector.

I hadn't planned to do so.

That can is forty-two years old--from a time when, even though the product, itself, wasn't great, its maker was. A little piece of "the Americana that was."

Turns out it hasn't much value. Maybe $15 or so. For that I'll keep it. I'll find someplace in my newly-reconstituted bar to display it, I imagine.

Yep. In 1981 Anheuser-Busch was a great company. America was a great country.
It's a different world now.

Donald Trump, Jr and the GOP Want You to Shut Up About Bud Light

Bud Light’s marketing vice president hates you and your values. She decided to shake up the brand and put it in the hands of one of the most obnoxious trans activists to exist.

Donald Trump, Jr. wants you to let it go and keep drinking your Bud Light.

Turns out money is everything. The CEO of Anheuser-Busch is a Republican donor, and the company has given more to the GOP than the Democrats.

The National Republican Congressional Committee that elects Republicans to the House has taken down a website that condemned Bud Light.

It’s about the money. They do not care about you and your values. They care about the money. They expect you to grin and bear it because the company has thrown money in the direction of your preferred political party. They are not willing to hold their own accountable when their own can buy them, and you, off.

Do you want to know how the left so easily advances in culture? This. MAGA is, it would seem, all about the benjamins, to paraphrase Ilhan Omar. The question is, are you?

Pay attention these next few days to see which of the loud voices against Bud Light from the online right suddenly fall silent. When one can send them money and have them go silent, perhaps professed values are not values but price tags.

Perfect example of the Never let a crisis go to waste, mantra.....

Didn't take long to push the blame on the white, conservative non city dwelling Republicans.

There has been a push to create a narrative by the LSM that only conservative Republicans are the ones not drinking BL, unreal. DJTjr just helped advance that implication.

There has clearly been an attempt to label the anti Bud-Light movement as a conservative issue, there are reports that the outlying areas of the country are where the real backlash is based, implication is the less enlightened intolerant country folk, who are unlike the woke, tolerant, educated sophisticated city folk.

AB's CEO response was a clearly patronizing, his message wasn't an apology, it was we're sorry you just don't get our message as it was intended, hopefully you'll see the light and begin to embrace the tolerance we're advocating.

If anything, the continued boycott of BL should get stronger until they have no choice but to kill of the brand.

If AB's and the CEO are true conservatives, their support of the R party won't stop, if it does stop, well, then we understand a little more about InBev and AB...

Personally, I think it would be far more amusing if the Wokenistas found themselves obliged to drink that swill to keep the brand afloat

They won't. One thing about liberals/leftists/democrats is that they spend all their time and effort complaining instead of doing what it takes to remedy whatever it is they're bitching about. Remember the whole "income inequality" with the US Women's National Team? Instead of tuning in, bumping their viewership numbers so the USWNT would get more advertising revenue leading to higher player income, they bitched and bitched and bitched until the USMNT caved in and gave them what they wanted. This is how babies get what they want and unfortunately this is the trend in America today, logic and fundamentals be damned. If "they" think it should be so, they will dedicate all their free time crying and complaining until these spineless corps, politicians, etc. cave in. Fucking disgusting.
