I’d like to hear specifically from any retired Senior NCO’s here who are members about Walz’ Army awards.

Isn’t it very unusual to retire after 24 years as an E-8 and ONLY have ONE lousy Army Commendation Medal as your highest award?

For AF/Navy/Marine members here that would be an Air Force Commendation Medal/Navy-Marine Cops Commendation Medal

It’s far more typical to retire with at least one Meritorious Service Medal or a Bronze Star at that rank isn’t it?

I can only guess that either his unit did not like him or they withheld a retirement award from him higher than what he got. Also tells me he wasn’t any sort of hard charger or good Soldier.

Honestly, you don't have to be a senior NCO to know that is NOT normal, at least not in my experience. I've heard people "excusing" that by saying he was a reservist, IMO, that's straight up smoke screen type stuff. This guy was by no means a hard charger...

One Commendation medal at that rank is very unusual.

at hat rank for it to be his highest is even more concerning.

additionally, when we were deployed to Desert Shield/Storm, everyone was anxious and ready to go. Some trepidation sure.

However, halfway there (I was on the USS Ranger) we had an AMH1 (aircraft hydraulics, first class) who decided he was now a conscientious objector.

Two words which equates to "coward."

This is the same word I would apply to an E8 who FINALLY has the opportunity to deploy and be a warrior but decides to retire instead.

Walz is a coward.

How did he make E-7, or even E-6 with just an Army Comm? (honest question).

It's not unusual at all in the National Guard. Monthly weekend drills and annual training don't provide much chance to make yourself stand out, unless you hold a position of increased responsibility. I suspect that there's plenty of NCO's in the 34th ID that didn't weasel out of a deployment and really did carry a weapon of war in a combat zone that may not even have an AAM, let alone an ARCOM.

He is a pathological liar, he can't help it. He lies when most of the time, the truth would have been fine. His rank, the circumstances surrounding his leaving the armed services. Lying about combat, being a head football coach, how his kids were conceived, etc. And it is safe to say that Walz has likely lied about many other things we don't know about.
