Check on Long Island watch. They sell straps/bands for the Marathon watches. Link.. I heard Marc mention it, but have not locked. If you're goin' through hell, keep on going. Don't slow down. That's where I bought it. Edit to add I just ordered the Marathon strap. Decided the vanilla smell was worth the extra few dollars. This message has been edited. Last edited by: goose5, _________________________ OH, Bonnie McMurray!

^^^ Thanks again, fischtown! Helm did send me an email to confirm I got your approval. I told them you had contacted them. It wasn't a problem at all. I've been wearing it regularly for several days now and love the feel.

I finally gave in to the pressure from our friends at Strapcode, ordering up the DLC black Hexad band for my SRPH11. I've been wearing that with a NATO-style strap for a good while, but I often prefer metal. So I figured, "Merry Christmas to me," and it arrived today. This thing is heavy, y'all! Crummy cell phone pic: Installing it was a little challenging, because a) it's all black and b) the lighting in my work area isn't great, compounded by c) I left my "old man glasses" at work. But I got it done, and I'm very happy with its look and weight. (Yes, I see the white spot on the bracelet, a couple of links away from the dial on the right side... it's just desk crud, and was easily wiped away.) The only thing I can complain about is that I don't have the tool for removing a link (or three). Given my skinny wrists, this bracelet is about 39-1/2 sizes too big, even with the built-in adjuster drawn all the way down. Another Helm opportunity transfer available. A coincidence this should come up since fischtown recently offered one up to me. Got a Helm email that my time to buy a Vanuatu Titanium is coming up soon. I won't take advantage of this now and would like to offer the buy to someone else who'd enjoy it. Let me know and I'll pass on the email and notify Helm of the new buyer.

I know better than to click on this thread, but did anyway and now have watch envy. Can a watch be timeless? Marzy's Moonwatch is. Then stickman's left handed chronograph. That is sharp.

I picked up a watchband pin replacement kit from Amazon a few days ago, since one of the pins failed on my Seiko 5 and I want to do it myself. There were a couple Youtube videos that covered soft bands (leather and fabric) but I can't find anything on metal bands. How did you do it? I can't compress the pin and slide it into the holes with the tool that came with the kit. Kinda reminds me of trying to insert pistons into an engine block and the rings not wanting to cooperate.

I have a couple of the two-prong, fork-like tools. I was able to use one of those to help compress the spring bars to get them into place. It took some doing, and I had to make sure the end link was going in between the lugs almost "straight-on." I can't deny, it took some doing. Essentially, I pushed the pin all the way to one side (flush with the end link) and pushed the end link as far "forward" as it would go, then used the tiny fork to compress the other end of the pin, then pushed some more. Though I'm trying to avoid relying on Amazon, I did order up a small kit the other night. It should be here on Monday. Hopefully I'll be back in business with the SRPH on a shortened bracelet Monday night. God bless America.

Thanks, I'll give it a try tonight. It's either that, or use this as an excuse to buy another watch! -------------------------- Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats. -- H L Mencken I always prefer reality when I can figure out what it is. -- JALLEN 10/18/18
