6guns, check VOSTOK ladies watches. There is a place in Florida that does USA shipping and VOSTOK watches are available on Amazon too.

Merry Christmas everyone. I needed a new beater so, on a whim, I asked for and got this G Shock. So light and great for working in the yard or boating. Love the classic octagon face and the recycled materials.

Actually no. That big ole' chunk on the left hand side is the depth sensor for the "dive" side of that watch. 4:00 is the screw down crown.

12:00 inside the dial is the digital readout
Day/Date/Month-Time-stopwatch-alarm

Then when the watch is switched to "Dive Mode"
Depth alarm-diving time alarm
Newer models have an assent speed warning and an abnormal depth warning.

I'm wearing one of those right now. Wink
eTripper- I never thought of tossing a stainless bracelet on it! It looks nice!
Mine have always had NATO & rubber.

I was thinking more that the lump on the left side would be an annoyance to a right-hand wearer.
I'm a lefty, so on occasion, the crown rubs the back of my wrist. Not a problem with the 4:00 crown on the Monster though

I have a neat and unique southpaw (lefty) Khaki auto chrono inbound from Japan.

Quite a departure from the rest of the Hamilton Chronos in my collection.

I've had to toss it on my right wrist a few times, it doesn't hit the back of your hand like you'd think.

Not a bad watch for "old school" technology!
I've had one of these on my arm 99% of the time from 1989 - 2020.
It started out as a status symbol for guys in my Unit.
I blew my first one up. Yeah, it was my dumb ass fault. Had to get a second one.
IIRC, $250-$300 was the going rate at the PX. A lot of coin for a stupid E-3 in the Corps. Double it when you're dumb.
The second one lasted me 30ish years. I beat the hell out of that watch every day. It kept on going.

I tried to get it fixed when it died on me. No dice... Even our own David Truong couldn't bring it back to life.
Funny part is, I went out and got a new one (green dial- figuring I'd change it up). They guys on my team chipped in and got me a Christmas present last year- black dial like my original a few weeks later. Now I'm the proud owner of TWO! Big Grin

I think I could be content with a half dozen or so in permanent retention & would cycle out another 3-4 as interest is piqued.

^I have about 12 watches, all in perfect working condition yet I find I rotate about 3. I have thought about selling some, but they all have memories attached to them.

I do have a question for this thread and it may make me sound crazy. I have an Omega Seamaster Diver 300m. It's black with the ceramic wave dial.

Anyway, I have found that I only love this watch when I take the bracelet off and I substitute it for a strap. The strap can be silicone, canvas, etc. I just really only like it on a strap. I even bought a Forstner "president style" bracelet and that didn't make a difference.
Do you guys have any watches that you dislike in one form (on bracelet) and love on another (strap)?

^^^

Absolutely.

I disliked the silicone straps on a couple of Seiko models I've had -- one got a stainless bracelet from strapcode.com, one got a NATO-style band.

The Alpinist [that 6guns now has] came with a very dressy-looking black leather band. I had to "casual it up" a little, and put on a super-soft tan leather band.

There's no harm at all ins swapping bands/bracelets, and many now are coming with quick-change (no-tool) pins to make that easier.

God bless America.

I prefer a bracelet, my Citizen CZ gets the most wrist time, even on its grippy rubber strap. Want to get a black bracelet for it, but our budget has been focused elsewhere for now.
