I had 2 Pros and 1 Baer TRS and I sold them one by one. Every time I took either the Pro or the Baer to the range I wish I spent the time and ammo training with my Glock 21SF instead. And what was I doing with a bunch of .45's and bitching about the price of ammo? So I sold them and put the money towards my future ammo/training fund. Do I miss them? Yeah sure. But as a pure luxury, a disposable part of my shooting habit. But anyone who devotes themselves to the 1911 platform would be very well served by a Les Baer and particularly the SA Professional. They are truly exceptional 1911's. __________________________ They keep saying they just want "sensible gun laws" but they hold up countries where they are banned and confiscated as their ideal. Antis thinks guns are only good for killing people. I think guns are good for self defense. So I'm the one with the "problem"? The Bill of Rights affirms the Rights of the Individual Not the State. Ok, 91 pages of thread...I figured I had to add my two cents worth... I was a devout Browning Hi-Power/1911 guy. Then, around 1992, I thought, what the hell, I'll try the latest thing...a .40 caliber Model 23. Keep in mind the .40 cartridge was pretty new then, too. Well, I liked it. It made me realize there were some new guns out there that merited attention. So, in '94, I bought a P228 in 9mm. and, no surprise to anyone here, I loved it. Today, due to my employment, the Glock is my weapon (a Model 23 and a model 27). I recently bought a model 21, which, despite it's size, was surprisingly shootable for me, and I have small to mid size hands. I still love the Hi Power and the 1911...and the Sig P series, but I feel quite well equipped with the Glock pistol. Someone once told me that the more you loved music, the more music you love. I think that's problably true of a lot of interests, including guns.

I think it has more to do with a person's definition of "accurate." They're plenty accurate enough to get the job done in practical situations. That, in most people's book, qualifies as "accurate." However, when you compare groups from a Glock to those from a nice Sig, HK or high-end 1911, the Glock doesn't look very accurate.

I was thinking it had more to do with what your definition of definition is...is.

Nope. I won't. [buy a glock, that is]. I respect Gaston Glock and his weapons. I really do. I cannot and will not say anything disparaging about them. I would be proud to use one to save my life if I didn't have my own weapons around. But they don't feel 'right' in my hand. I pick them up and feel a sense of unease as I am trying to acquire the sight picture. All of the good things that are said about them are valid, imho. I think most of the bad are probably suspect statements. All I can state is what 'I' feel about them. And they don't fit right. To be honest, I'd rather have a Ruger than a Glock: both stone-cold reliable, both more accurate than I am [currently], both affordable, both 'safe' from ND [if finger is OFF the trigger]. However, Ruger's are a bit less expensive and they fit my hand better. Thus, no Glocks for me. Have fun with them. I respect them. But I won't buy one. I haven't decided if I would keep one if it were a gift though. Hmmmm. Sigs and Non-Sigs: I enjoy having options!

Not me! My son has a safe full of Glocks and my wife even has one. Whenever I get the urge for an illicit polymer fling, I slip off with one of theirs.

check YouTube and look up Glock 27 accuracy. You will see a video of a guy shooting a glock 27 and hitting steel targets out to 100 yards. This particular glock is uncanny accurate.

I have never found Glocks to be inaccurate. In fact the opposite is true. For the $450 they cost..the accuracy is quite good. I just took delivery of my latest Glock the model 29 in 10mm. Using Corbon 150 grain bullets @ an advertised 1325 fps (somewhat slower no doubt from the shorter barrel) it shot a 1 1/8 inch ragged hole. I put 4 magazines thru that same hole @ 50 feet. 40 rounds in total through a ragged hole is plenty accurate by any standard from a hand held pistol. I have with previous Glocks shot them from sand bags and gotten that hole size down to under an inch. The guns are quite capable. I recently put a Lone Wolf barrel in a Glock 22 with a Comp threaded on. That was a rather amazing combination. Not only was there little recoil but next to zero muzzle flip. The gun simply laid there and bored a hole. I test fired it about as fast as I could shoot it from 50 feet using 180 grain PMC. 1.25 inches. No wonder these shooting game guys like comps huh? Cheers Mac.

That is indeed Hickok45 and he does that with every one of his Glocks. He has one of the nicest backyards I've ever seen and is one of the greatest ambassadors of Glock next to R. Lee. No doubt the contrarians will say its the indian not the arrow. True, but he also wouldn't be able to make those kind of shots if Glocks aren't as accurate as some claim. And a pistol can only make up for so much if they don't manipulate the trigger properly. __________________________ They keep saying they just want "sensible gun laws" but they hold up countries where they are banned and confiscated as their ideal. Glocks not accurate? Mine hit where I point them. They are not designed to be target pistols and shoot nice 1" groups like a 2500 dollar Wilson 1911....hello! My 16 year experience with the two Glocks I own...along with several SIGs, 1911s a Hi-Power and my Makarov is that Glocks are plenty accurate for their intended purpose. - brickboy240

My G26 surprised the hell out of me when I first bought it. I ran a few mags through it then finished off the last one I'd planned on running through with a three round rapid point and shoot. At seven yards it produced a group of less than 2" and I'm definitely not the most accurate shooter out there.

My manager shoots a Kimber in USPSA single stack competition. So, some time ago, I poked my head in his cubicle and told him: Kimbers are what you show your friends, Glocks are what you show your enemies!! All he said was "Go away!" Recently, he bought a Glock 19 Gen4. Now, I keep nagging him about getting his CCW. ____________________ Definition: Gun Control -> hitting your target every time. When hell freezes over! Talk about a POS brick with a crap trigger that also has an overly long reach. I have NEVER been the least bit tempted by Glock tupperware. Very well said.... I have been a rifle / shotgun guy for ...er, well a while. I recently bought a handgun, Glock 17 gen 4 and have really taken to the whole handgun thing. I have bought my wife a Sig P226 Classic and we enjoy competing with each other on equal footing but more importantly we are enjoying something together. So far, each gun we've tried, we've enjoyed. mmmmmmm............No I didn't buy a GLOCK...... Just picked up my new SIG SP2022 today...... hehehe...I'm really kinda "giddy" about this since I only paid $3.. something for it from my buddy "BUD"! I must say, I was hoping for a nice weapon, I'm actually surprised, I don't know why I should be, but this SIG SP2022 is a VERY NICE gun! I had a P228 previously (it was stolen), and this gun is the same great quality you would expect from SIG. I'll give a range report and PICS after I go to the range, but it may be a few days..... I'm really surprised more of you don't have this gun! DAMN, I'm ready to shoot at something! "The STARS AND BARS don't stand for slavery, don't let anybody tell you it does!" If a Block looms in my future then they must not be going to make any more Sigs! No, won't matter, the ones that exist now will live far longer than me. I will own another Sig however... soon! Christmas is coming.
