What's funny is I don't use my Glocks as primary defensive guns as I tend to prefer DA/SA. That said I COMPLETELY understand your sentiment. I cannot imagine not owning any Glocks. Hell I held a Gen 5 G26 the other day and LOVED it soooo........maybe........ "Guns are tools. The only weapon ever created was man."

Thankfully they are easily available at damn near every place that sells guns! You’ll have one soon enough. ______________________________________________________________________ "When its time to shoot, shoot. For real? |
cslinger, I have been carrying a forfeited gen5 26 with Streamlight TLR-3 for a few weeks with the Magpul 12 rd mag and I have been loving it. It's so much more comfortable than the 45 with tlr-7 I have been carrying. I plan on carrying it for at least two more years before my chief retires. He's taking it as his retirement gun. Not minority enough!

I was playing with a Gen 5 26 the other day. I really like the Gen 5s in general and was amazed how good that G5 26 felt. "Guns are tools. The only weapon ever created was man."

I held one the GEN five and compared it to GEN5 G34. I think it would make a good range gun and a good home defense pistol as you get better velocity than a 34 or the 17. " The Road goes on forever and the Party never ends"

I've made some changes in my Glock life. For a couple of years I had a Shadow Systems CR920 and liked it a lot. Larger capacity than the 43 and 43X. Never a problem, misfire, bobble-worked every time, and accurate, too. But it was just a bit thick I felt. So, I've been carrying my Glock 43X MOS w/15 round Gen 3 Shield mags. After a period of time, I decided I preferred it over the SS. Not a lot of difference in the size/circumference of the two grips, but the Glock "felt" better to me. The Glock is less money than the SS but if you want night sights (I'm partial to Night Fission with the BIG yellow front sight,) you are in the Glock for another hundred +/-, so the cost is about the same. I traded in the SS at my LGS for something I "needed" and I think I am well set up for carry with my 43X most of the time. If it is real hot, I drop down to one of my 43s. With Plus 1, I have 8 rounds total. I always carry an extra mag in a Snag Mag. For EDC with me, it is the thickness of the grip that's most concerning. I looked at the Gen 5 model 26 and liked it fine, but it seemed thick compared with my 43 and 43X grips. Bob

It reminds me of the buntline that Joker pulls out in Batman (1989) to shoot down the Batwing...

One thing I love about Glocks, in this case the Gen5 Glock 19, is its simplicity to operate and breaking it down. Last summer I attended the Arizona Correctional Officer Training Academy with many candidates who had never fired a handgun before. We had only a few days of training with a Glock 19, before we had to qualify. Not one candidate failed the qualification test. I had experience with Glocks before, but was nevertheless impressed. That doesn't stop me from loving my Sig 226 and 229 equally. I’m here to learn more about firearms and would love to contribute as well. I’ve been following this forum for a few years and would feel honored to be a member.

Welcome to the forum. SIGs and Glocks are a great way to start here. But buckle up; you're going to be inundated with a LOT of other favorite brands as well. Oh...I suppose I should keep this post on topic: um, GLOCKS ROCK! -MG

Yes, we are a fairly brand agnostic church here. . Frankly I, personally would like to see a “yes” option on polls. Glock or SIG or CZ or BerettA ……… YES 9mm or .40 or .45 or.357 Magnum or ……… YES At least that’s how I roll. Glocks and their simplicity are amazing tools and personally like them or not one should give them their due. "Guns are tools. The only weapon ever created was man."

It's been 25 years now and I still don't have a Glock. Below is my latest purchase and IMO it's a lot prettier than a Glock. I've stopped counting.

Anybody know where I can get a couple rounded mag releases like Glock puts on the 19M and the government contract 19's? I think Glock's part number is 33713 but they were unable to help when I asked them, and Glockstore doesn't have them, either. They have some larger mag releases but not the one I want. Thanks in advance. -------------------------- Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats. -- H L Mencken I always prefer reality when I can figure out what it is. -- JALLEN 10/18/18

Take a look at the Vickers designed Tango Down stuff.

This. I have them on a couple of my personal Gen 4/5 Glocks, and they're a nice improvement over stock. Similar to the 19M mag release, just with a slightly more rounded middle, whereas the 19M's rear 2/3rds is flat. https://tangodown.com/vickers-...ine-release-gmr-003/ 19M: Tango Down:
