The G48 has become my favorite Glock. It calls to mind (dare I say it) my German P225. But in a lighter weight poly striker gun. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

Welcome to the weekly meeting of Glockaholics Anonymous! I'm actually contemplating getting my own sight pusher after all, even though I don't really need it, but, just because... -------------------------- Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats. -- H L Mencken I always prefer reality when I can figure out what it is. -- JALLEN 10/18/18

You know, now that you mention it, I can totally see it. "Guns are tools. The only weapon ever created was man."

The 48 is outstanding. The problem (to me) is the people that hang a light, optic, Shield Arms magazines, metal mag releases, etc is that you really don’t gain anything over a 19. And the 19 still has better performance. But………. Iron sights or a dot alone, it’s awesome. Most of my weekly off duty training has been with a 48. I have been keeping a respectable hit factor with it compared to a compact or full sized gun.

Part of what I like about the 48 is the fact that it’s a light weight, thin G19. I weighed it next to my PPS with 8 round mags and it’s like an oz lighter with 2 extra rounds, and a longer barrel/sight radius. It fits a niche for me, and adding lots of extra weight throws it into other gun realms for me. I might throw an optic on it at some point but may not. The only reason I would throw a light on it is if I am using it bedside in a capacity limited state, which I am sometimes in. "Guns are tools. The only weapon ever created was man."

Had the G48 out again today. I do believe it has edged out the G45 as my favorite Glock. "Guns are tools. The only weapon ever created was man."

It is a great compromise. 11 rounds in the gun and an RMR? 23 ounces. Fully loaded 19? 31 ounces. 19 with TLR7 and RMR? 37 ounces.

I have both the 19 and 23. I have tweaked them lightly with smooth PolyDat triggers, extended slide releases and actual metal night sights. And I do carry them if I travel to an area where I perceive the threat level to be increased. But for most everyday carry in the Yoop, the light flat 48 cant be beat. If I cant resolve the situation with 11 in the gun and a spare mag, its...Feet dont fail me now! End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

Purchased a Glock 45 with trijicon night sights over the weekend. Got a chance shoot it today, put 100rds through it. Loved it. I have previously owned a 19x and did not care for it at all.

Pic is cross posted in the "If you could only own one .45 thread". Felt it should be included here as a tribute to my 500th and 501st post. We all have our own preferences, as ingrained into us as much as our own upbringing by our parents. The 9mm vs 45ACP debate will never be settled. But I'm glad Glock provided the same sized pistol in both calibers. To each their own. I'm quite happy with the Glock 30S. Likely has more of a niche following. But tucks away nicely in some TTGunleather.

I shot the front sight off of my main CCW Glock 26 today, at about 1,100 total rounds. Has had the same Trijicon irons on it installed by the shop I bought it from. Doesn’t look like there is any thread locker on it, so I put a little bit of blue locktite on it, hopefully that helps? I kept shooting and it was easy enough to hit by point shooting at closer ranges. ...Then it comes to be that the soothing light at the end of your tunnel, was just a freight train coming your way...

Spent this week bouncing between the 48 and the 43x. Final drill was 7 yards, draw fire six from concealment, reload from pocket, and six into a second target. Times averaged 6 seconds-ish for both guns. Out to 20 yards or so I haven’t found much a difference.

I’ve put some more time in with my 48 and I really like the way it shoots and carry’s. Honestly in my meager skilled hands it’s not that radically different than a G19 for me. It has surprised me how much I am liking this G48 from both a shooting and concealment point of view. 20 years ago a G48 sold as a G19S would have been on fire as far as sales. "Guns are tools. I am not a fan of IWB carry but if I go IWB, the light, flat G48 is my go to gun. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

It's crazy how cheap the used market has become on the Gen 5 Glocks. Not to "toot my own horn" or anything but I recently bought a G17 for only $370 otd and it was slightly used. Not that I need another full size gun but I just couldn't help myself at that price.

You can get a Glock sight pusher off E bay for like 30 bucks , and it comes with a front sight tool and it all works well !

A quick search and I found several cheapies, which one did you get that works well? -------------------------- Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats. -- H L Mencken I always prefer reality when I can figure out what it is. -- JALLEN 10/18/18
