And it adds another reason to why I won't own a Glock.

The Gadget is in the final stages of production and should hopefully be shipping out soon. Check out the thread on pistol-forum.com for a ton of info and updates.

Great news Mark. Figured the project had ended with Todd's death. Glad to hear it's moving forward. Had not had any updates from the crowdfunding site in a while. I'll look for them.

I might be in the minority, but I love the way Glocks look. I picked up Glock number five last week..... a Gen 4 G 17 that I will be using for IDPA.

Making a longer story short, a nephew of mine just purchased a Gen4 19 after a disturbing incident at his apartment complex. He was already looking to purchase his first handgun in the next couple of weeks and has been to the range with me and others getting a feel for various handguns. The 19 was a good fit for him, and the recent issue near home prompted a sooner-than-expected purchase timeline for him.

He scored a TALO edition with an improved set of sights that included a hi-viz orange front unit (I don't recall the name-brand of the sights at the moment). He brought the Glock by right after the purchase so we could talk about cleaning / lubing and general handling. I also hooked him up with a nice starter supply of JHP ammo.

He's not simple. He just understands that the gun is the cheap part.

It doesn't matter. He's going to hate it. The G19 is the stupidest of all the Glocks.

Yeah, the gun is the cheap part.

Mags, ammo, sights, holster, mag carrier... My rule of thumb for a serious use semi-auto is double the price for an basic "all in" package.

Don't know exactly how all in it is going to be, but we'll give it an honest try.

Do I understand you correctly? You have purchased 30 G19 magazines, but do not own a G19?

I have the magazines, the pistol is 'enroute'. So I have paid for the G19, but I don't yet have it in my hands. It will be a week or so.

I've done the same thing. I picked up a dozen G21 mags a couple years ago because they were cheap (I think about $10 each, used) but don't have a 21.

With the recent sales price of $19 for OEM and $12-14 for Magpul and XTS Glock magazines, it's hard not to justify the purchase and strongly consider the Glock when all other OEM weapon magazines cost $25-50.

I'm slacking. I'm only at 20 mags or so for two G17's. I did pick up three more and two for the G40.

I may finally have to get a G19 though. It seems the best all around.

However, for a purely fun gun the G40 has got to be close to the best. It's a beast and has some thump.

I must be really slacking then. I only have 3 magazines for my G19. I have about 50 30 rounders for 5.56 though...

I bought a sizable quantity of hard to find 9mm ammo before I bought a Glock 19. It didn't really feel like I was doing things in the wrong order. I've since been catching up on the magazine inventory.
