This subject is a sign from God that I am to keep a few P7s and forget the Glock idea for now

Yeah...I noticed that you were selling a few nice HKs and wanting a 9mm Glock.

That is not a bad move as long as you are buying an earlier 9mm Glock. An older 3rd gen G19 or G17 or a 2nd gen gun.

The 2nd gen G17s are still out there as police trade ins.

Sad thing is that I am seriously considering ditching my nearly new 3rd gen G19 and grabbing one of these well worn 2nd gen G17s. Hey...at least I know it will run like the devil and not bean me with brass! LOL

Yup, ain't nothing wrong with these four that my wife and I brought back from our assignment in Germany!

Gen 2 Glock 17s, consecutive SNs. Either an Austrian or German distributer had the finish work done before they made it to the Rod and Gun Shop

Gen 2.5 Glock 26s, consecutive SNs.

Interesting is that all 4 of these pistols came with "-" connectors. I switched them out recently with standard connectors.

Cheers,

It's a wise choice to keep the P7's. I'd still look for an older pre-2008 Glock 19 if you're really wanting one. Or even better, a gen2 19.

I too would like to hear something outta Glock on this current debacle, especially why it's been kept so hush, hush. With the exception of this forum and others, there's no mention of it in the popular gun rags, or "gun TV", something that is a disservice to those who watch or read!
As to the turning to HK, or S&W or XD, yeah go ahead.
I've owned XDs and there alright, seem to bounce a lot when you shoot em but they do work. Yet I've heard some tend to rust with regular carry.
M&P; it's nice but it doesn't do anything my 5946 won't do, except be made for civilian consumption.
H&K; I have 4,USP9 fullsize, P2000, and two P30s! Absolute joys to shoot and reliable as the day is long! But as some said they are expensive, but they're worth it!
BUT I'M NOT ABOUT TO GIVE UP ON GLOCK JUST YET! See despite all the above weapons being reliable and available, the companies making them don't make a model in every chambering! None build a 10mm, Smith does have a .357 SIG M&P ( I think?) Springfield did build an XD in .45GAP. Yet only Glock builds a pistol or pistols in just about every chambering!
So I think I'll hunt up another G20 and it's little brother the 29, then a 2nd Gen 19! 9mm is my preferred defense round and it does a damn good job on varmints too! But I've always had a warm spot for the 10mm since a G20 once win me some cash in a local bowling pin shoot!
So yeah, I'll continue to buy Glocks! Dale

I wanted to get some more info before I replied. I went on Glocktalk and asked if people were having problems with new production Gen 4 nines or, guns coming back from Smyrna. So far the answer is coming back no.

Or a very new one. I think all these issue have been worked out.
That would suggest Glock knows the nature of the problem. If that's the case, why are users getting pistols returned to then still exhibiting this behavior?

I'd really appreciate a bit of plain speaking from Glock on this matter.

I can't believe how easy this pistol is to disassemble.
After trying this and that combo with the 3.5 and stock connector and the stock and NY spring, I was able to strip the frame in 10 seconds or less.

Amazing..

I ended up with the 3.5 connector and the stock trigger spring.
The NY spring made it a bit heavy, but it was indeed like a DA revolver pull as advertised.

This thread had a lot to do with my purchase of my G19.
I always balked at the Glock grip angle, but it is hardly noticeable when I handle it now.

We as humans, easily adapt.. Cool

I've sold 4 XD pistols because of the sloppy trigger.

This G19 is a keeper.
Thinking about buying another one or a G26..

Amazingly easy! I detail stripped mine recently and put a smooth face trigger along with a Ghost Rocket 3.5 connector in it. Also did the 25 cent trigger job with Flitz. Simple and very easy to do.

Oh yeah, I also put a smooth faced trigger in it too..
And I put a Vickers slide stop, and LWD extended slide lock.
The Vickers extended mag release is on back order..

Hmmm..a three year old..200 plus page thread about Glocks on the Sig forum...Hmmm?

I just bought a like new older Glock 19...and a well used older P226(got a pair of West Germans now)

What do I think about Glocks?...I own a couple...Sigs..a couple of those too..1911 pistols?..three of those...got three Nagant revolvers and a couple P08 Lugers..and other handguns dating from the mid 1800's to last year. From flintlocks and Dragoons to modern fighting handguns

They all good...I don't keep the turds.

A member who registered five and a half years ago and doesn't seem to know we discuss all sorts of firearms here? Hmmmm

Besides, the thread has a life of its own. Granted, that life was breathed into it by supernatural forces of darkness, but hey, beggars can't be choosers.

Hmmm...I've always known about any handguns were discused here....I just have not had enough balls to jump into this monster of a thread...never get/got past the first page before.

I wonder if a thread on Ballester Molina pistols could go three years/200 plus pages?....Hmmm...prolly not. Maybe the 1911 could...but only the $1000 or more 1911...cheaper 1911 pistols would need another thread.

The famous..or infamous Glock though...that's another story...even people that bad-mouth Glocks own Glocks! I ain't all that big a fan of the Glock(I don't think..am I?)...however I do realize that they be good futher-muckers.

If you're standing in front of the gunstore display looking at the bewildering display of handguns under glass...dazed and confused...buy the Glock...

I think you're misreading the thread. More likely (frankly I can't blame you now that it's his big), you haven't read it. This thread is a cheer for Glock, with a pause for a reality check following some very real and experienced issues lately.

Bingo! Value.
This is clearly why this thread is over 200 pages long and the "You will buy a Taurus" thread is not. Oh yeah. There isn't such a thread.
