And chance we can get this thread back on topic?

There are rumors that before Amazon took Parlar down last night that PDJT posted he pardoned Assange and Snowden, then signed the insurrection act.

Please advise if this is a dupe.

Looks like some protesters are being let go without charges, at least if your father says you are a good kid.

Prosecutors won't proceed with charges against Michigan woman arrested during Capitol insurrection

https://www.detroitnews.com/st...storming/6602945002/

The younger Grimes was arrested a few blocks north of the White House, just under two miles from the Capitol building under siege. She was charged with carrying a pistol without a license, carrying unregistered ammunition and carrying a large capacity ammunition feeding device — which Washington, D.C., law describes as a "magazine, belt, drum, feed strip, or similar device" that's capable of accepting more than 10 rounds of ammunition.

But that gun and ammunition didn't belong to Leslie, her father said — in fact, she didn't know it was there until the police discovered it.

If convicted, Grimes' charges could have put her behind bars for up to nine years or cost her more than $27,000 in fines.

I have searched the internet for anything related to this and I have seen nothing. I’m not saying it didn’t happen, but I would think that this would be headline news, especially if he pardoned those two.

If this opinion piece from The Wall Street Journal about the Trump presidency is too much of a thread drift from some of the vital topics being discussed on the last few pages, please forgive me, but I thought it might be of interest to some people who participate here.

===============================================

No, Trump Isn’t Guilty Of Incitement

By Jeffrey Scott Shapiro

House Democrats have drafted an article of impeachment that accuses President Trump of “incitement to insurrection.” Acting U.S. Attorney Michael Sherwin said Thursday that his office is “looking at all actors here and anyone that had a role” in the Capitol riot. Some reporters have construed that as including Mr. Trump. The president didn’t commit incitement or any other crime. I should know. As a Washington prosecutor I earned the nickname “protester prosecutor” from the antiwar group CodePink. In one trial, I convicted 31 protesters who disrupted congressional traffic by obstructing the Capitol Crypt. In another, I convicted a CodePink activist who smeared her hands with fake blood, charged at then-Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in a House hearing room, and incited the audience to seize the secretary of state physically. In other cases, I dropped charges when the facts fell short of the legal standard for incitement. One such defendant was the antiwar activist Cindy Sheehan.

Hostile journalists and lawmakers have suggested Mr. Trump incited the riot when he told a rally that Republicans need to “fight much harder.” Mr. Trump suggested the crowd walk to the Capitol: “We’re going to cheer on brave senators and congressmen and -women, and we’re probably not going to be cheering so much for some of them. Because you’ll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength and you have to be strong.”

In the District of Columbia, it’s a crime to “intentionally or recklessly act in such a manner to cause another person to be in reasonable fear” and to “incite or provoke violence where there is a likelihood that such violence will ensue.” This language is based on Brandenburg v. Ohio (1969), in which the Supreme Court set the standard for speech that could be prosecuted without violating the First Amendment. The justices held that a Ku Klux Klan leader’s calls for violence against blacks and Jews were protected speech. The court found that Clarence Brandenburg’s comments were “mere advocacy” of violence, not “directed to inciting or producing imminent lawless action . . . likely to incite or produce such action.”

The president didn’t mention violence on Wednesday, much less provoke or incite it. He said, “I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.”

District law defines a riot as “a public disturbance . . . which by tumultuous and violent conduct or the threat thereof creates grave danger of damage or injury to property or persons.” When Mr. Trump spoke, there was no “public disturbance,” only a rally. The “disturbance” came later at the Capitol by a small minority who entered the perimeter and broke the law. They should be prosecuted.

The president’s critics want him charged for inflaming the emotions of angry Americans. That alone does not satisfy the elements of any criminal offense, and therefore his speech is protected by the Constitution that members of Congress are sworn to support and defend.

Mr. Shapiro served as an assistant attorney general of the District of Columbia, 2007-09. He is a White House appointed official at the U.S. Agency for Global Media.

I went to bed in the USA and seem to have woken up in Belarus, where social media was manipulated/shut down this summer to control grassroots reactions to poor election practices.

The only difference is that the politicians aren't doing the skulduggery here, it's the Kool-aid-drinking 'woke', and those frightened of same, who are doing it.

I have read the letter and the update. Yes, it was written for a local audience and not intended to go "viral".

The letter is written by Chris Zimmerman, Chairman of the Nye County Republican Central Committee. The letter is patriotic and hopeful. There's nothing wrong with standing up against the stolen election.

It begins with this:

Original letter follows:

"As I write to you today, I have no doubt that this letter will find many of you crushed under the weight of despair or perhaps lost in a maze of confusion. It is my hope that by the time you finish reading this letter you will be able to confidently join millions of others who support the president and another four years.

Let me be clear: Trump will be president for another four years. Biden will not be president. Yes, I know those are shocking words in these crazy days."
****

It goes on to outline many things we have discussed here on the forum and goes into speculation about what President Trump might do over the next 12 days (9 days now).

My only problem with the letter is that the author speaks with absolute certainty that Trump will be inaugurated on Jan 20th and lays out a series of unfolding events to come, as if he has knowledge of those events:

So, what comes next? I don’t have the particulars but I can give you milestones to watch for as the coming days unfold:

1. Expect the emergency broadcast system to be activated. The FCC just recently released a memorandum speaking to the requirements under Federal law to send messages from the president to the public. See this link
2. Expect confusion. We are in a battle for our republic against elites that are attempting the very coup that they are accusing Trump of doing. In battle, there will be disinformation but know that plans are being fulfilled.
3. Expect high profile arrests to take place over the next 12 days and at any time. You may wake one morning to find someone in high office is no longer there.
4. Expect this to be a bumpy ride to the very end. This is not a television show where things are resolved in 45 minutes.
5. Expect more bombshell evidence to be released between now and Jan. 20th.
6. Expect some sort of internet blackout or outage: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Gmail are likely going to be affected. If you don’t have alternate forms of communication established now, it would be a good idea to start forming them even if it’s just checking on your nextdoor neighbors.
7. Expect Trump to be inaugurated on Jan 20th!
8. Expect the executive order from 2018 and/or the Insurrection Act to be enacted. This DOES NOT mean martial law. Remember that we have been under a state of emergency since 2018 which gives the president many powers to act.

HOWEVER, as stated in the "update", or clarification:

"Nothing in the letter was original to me. I have no “inside” access to the administration so what was posted was simply a summary of things that are readily available for any willing to do the research which was then provided to the membership for their consideration... "

As much as I want President Trump to remain in office beyond Jan 20th, I don't think it does any good to give others false hope by claiming to know something that one does not know.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
-- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

I do not know where all of this leads to or ends. The one thing I see is that there is a lot of panic from the side that claims they won. Why do you need a full court press of Trump and his movement if the entire movement leaves office in a little over a week? The amount of people being banned, cancelled, removed from social media, whatever you want to call it seems to me that something is afoot. It may just be a case of lack of patience, but I doubt it.

The panic is because if President Trump is not impeached (and found guilty) or removed by the 25th Amendment, he would be eligible to run again in 2024, and might win. That is unacceptable to the Leftists. They want him gone for good.

They are also afraid that if these investigations continue that all their dirty laundry will be revealed and publicized, and IMO there is a great amount of dirty laundry--enough to put some of them away for Sedition or other crimes.

Someone clue me in as to why POTUS would pardon Assange and Snowden?
IIRC Snowden stole and released classified info...and Assange just runs the website that dumps info he didn’t actually steal any of it.....or do I have that wrong?

All of this Q nonsense is just that, nonsense. I want Trump back in office as much as anyone else but he's not going to round up the bad guys, drop some evidence bombshells and they just let him waltz right back into the Whitehouse. Its not happening and I don't think the dems are afraid of Trump releasing classified info. No matter how many crimes were committed, who's gonna prosecute them? That's right, no one. That's where we are with the justice system now.
