I agree with Skins. Look at Italy, it is a first world country with very good medical care. The ENTIRE country is on lock down. They have 10,149 coronavirus confirmed, 631 deaths from it and only 724 recovered. That's 6% deaths. If you've been looking at the John Hopkins site, it has been growing exponentially the past 2 weeks. Look at the U.S., we went from 2 cases in Washington State to 972 cases in like 10 days, 28 deaths and only 4 recovered. IT IS something to be concerned about. IT IS effecting many people's income and bank accounts and investments, including my own. It is effecting many people in other ways, schools closing for who knows how long. BOTTOM LINE- we don't know what it will or won't turn into, how many it will effect, how many will die from it, BUT what we do know is that it is already effecting many people's pockets and many parts of the world. Nobody knows how serious it can/will get and it is best to be prepared for it and take precautions. If my money grew as fast as this virus, I'd be retired in a year. | |||

I think the number of reported cases is low by a factor of 5 and probably 10. Many cases present as just the flu or mild pneumonia. If you count that the mortality rate plummets. That doesn't feed the panic so... The public school system is going to force the US in to a terrible depression. Teachers always say they aren't babysitters but in fact, the US Public school system is the biggest day care operation in the world. I've held since 2016 that the only way Trump isn't reelected is if there is a major economic downturn in mid 2020. WVU is shutting down all campuses and transitioning to online. My daughter graduates in a little over a month, she’s freaking out about maybe not having a graduation From FB As we continue to monitor COVID-19, the WVU System will temporarily suspend face-to-face classes from March 23-27 as we transition to online and alternative class instruction, which will begin March 30 and will continue until further notice. This is a precautionary measure to protect our campus and community.
