Yes, really. I've been a dentist since 1990. I can guarantee you that I spend more time every week wearing a mask than the overwhelming majority of people who have been masking since Covid. When a dentist is doing a procedure or a surgeon is in the OR, they are often masked for hours at a time. Several colleagues and I have done informal tests with pulse oximeters while wearing N95 masks for several hours straight. No effect whatsoever on O2 saturation. I know the meters aren't perfectly accurate, but they could sure as heck detect a level of hypoxia that would be harmful.

Again, mask mandates are stupid, but you aren't being poisoned by wearing one out shopping.

MNSIG is correct... I usually only have to wear regular surgical masks in the OR but once in a blue moon we need to wear a correct ( tight) fitting N95. No they aren't particularly pleasant but no hypoxia or hypercarbia...they don't make me sick. Just saying...

Epoch Times is reporting that 40% of US Marines surveyed are refusing the vaccine.

Good for them.

Yup. And now democrats are demanding that the vaccine be mandated for the military.

I expect we will see an explosion of similar signs soon.

I don't know...I took a quick look at their website and didn't see right off or start digging too deep:
https://www.slhn.org/

I did note the logo on the sign did match their logo and messaged them to ask if the sign was legit. They haven't responded.

I have never agreed with mask mandates and agree that cloth facemasks are close to useless in stopping Covid, BUT this conclusion is utter nonsense. If it were true, you'd have a whole lot of very disoriented, sick and chronically ill surgeons and dentists in the country.

I missed the part where surgeons and dentists are wearing masks all day long, outside, in their car, out shopping, out at restaurants, basically all the time. Silly me, I just thought they wore it only as long as they needed to actually do something...

Which is most of an 8-10 hour day. I'd bet the cumulative masking hours of a surgeon or dentist far exceed that of a person going about their daily business and putting a mask on where required in public spaces since Covid. There could be exceptions, but not many.

I would hope HIPPA and such would cover questions about your 'vaccine status'.

They can ask - even pretend that it is mandatory though the fine print denies it.

But ultimately it's none of their damn business.

HIPAA would not apply. If they asked your provider and your provider told them yes or no, that would be a violation. HIPAA prevents providers and insurance companies from sharing your information without your permission.

They can ask you all day long and you can either give them your information or choose not to.

They are saying that refusing to answer or answering 'no' to the question of whether you have been vaccinated will prevent you from entering.

So will HIPPA prevent them from confirming your answer? If so then problem solved. Tell them what they want to hear.

A lot of people in healthcare are using the same masks over and over. My g/f is a CRNA and tells me they won’t buy enough N95 masks for staff to have a new one every day. She puts hers on the dash of her car end of shift.

You have to show them your 'papers' - ie the card you get when you get the shot.

It's your choice to show the card or not, so HIPAA is out again in that case.

I figure by this summer you will have to 'show the card' to enter a lot of establishments - definitely at venues for concerts, sporting events, etc. Will be interesting to see how many private businesses require it and what the reaction will be. I'm guessing air travel will require it as well.

That hospital is about a half hour drive north for me and one of my cousins is a nurse there. I'm not surprised at all, PA was one of and remains one of the most Karen-y states there are with this stupid pandemic. Roll Eyes
