Indeed. Make sure he's very proactive as everything I've read says that people who do suffer symptoms recover far quicker/better if they get treatment early on. ----------------------------- Guns are awesome because they shoot solid lead freedom. Old Sleepy Joe is already starting to manage expectations - now he is saying the delayed transition planning will impact his Covid response plan and...MORE PEOPLE WILL DIE!!!! For crying out loud - for months he's said he has a plan (only giving vague statements on what that plan is) and now we find out that people are talking to him before they even tell the current administration. For his entire 47 years in politics he's been a blowhard...guess that's not going to stop anytime soon. It boggles the mind why anyone would think he would be a good president. TDS is a very powerful disease. I also saw a snippet from a supposed Army Covid Vaccine planner lamenting how hard it will be to inoculate a town in Texas that has only 3000 people and is hundreds of miles from a major city...talk about moving the goal posts. https://www.wsj.com/articles/b...938?mod=hp_lead_pos6 President-elect Joe Biden warned Monday that delays to his presidential transition could hinder the federal government response to the coronavirus pandemic as he sought to coordinate with business and labor leaders ahead of his new administration. Mr. Biden said he was encouraged by a meeting he had with business leaders, including the heads of General Motors Co. and Microsoft Corp. , along with labor leaders such as AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka. But he told reporters that if his team is forced to wait by the Trump administration until Jan. 20 to begin planning the distribution of vaccines for the virus, “it puts us behind over a month and a half.” “More people may die if we don’t coordinate,” Mr. Biden said in response to a question about the biggest threat to his transition. Mr. Biden’s team has been pressing the General Services Administration to issue a designation that would let his advisers move forward with preparations to form a new administration in January. The GSA hasn’t yet officially acknowledged Mr. Biden’s electoral victory over President Trump, hurting the former vice president’s ability to prepare for the distribution of a coronavirus vaccine and meet with Health and Human Services officials over plans to address Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus. The GSA designation is at the heart of a postelection debate over whether Mr. Trump should stop refusing to concede the presidential election. Mr. Biden secured the electoral votes he needed to become the next president, according to the Associated Press and other major news organizations, but hasn’t received the GSA’s nod. Biden: ‘More People May Die’ From Covid-19 Due to Delayed Transition After meeting with labor and business leaders Monday, President-elect Joe Biden said that more people could die from Covid-19 if his incoming administration has to wait until Jan. 20 to plan for vaccine distribution. Photo: Andrew Harnik/Associated Press Mr. Trump tweeted Sunday that Mr. Biden “won because the election was rigged” but later tweeted that he wasn’t conceding and said, “We will win.” No evidence of widespread voter fraud has surfaced. The lack of certification has also prevented Mr. Biden’s coronavirus advisory board from being able to contact the White House coronavirus task force or Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s top infectious-disease expert. Mr. Biden said he “wouldn’t hesitate to get the vaccine” if Mr. Fauci and the manufacturers of two potential Covid-19 vaccines, Moderna Inc. and Pfizer Inc., said it was safe. Moderna said earlier Monday that its experimental vaccine was 94.5% effective at protecting people from the virus, lifting financial markets. Mr. Biden’s team has suggested it could pursue legal action to force the GSA to issue a certification but it expressed hopes of avoiding litigation. Instead, his team signaled a stronger public pressure campaign this week to force greater cooperation from the Trump administration. Shortly before Mr. Biden’s remarks, former first lady Michelle Obama wrote in an Instagram post that while it had been painful to help the Trump administration transition into office in 2016, the Obama administration had done so because “the American people had spoken.” “Our love of country requires us to respect the results of an election even when we don’t like them or wish it had gone differently—the presidency doesn’t belong to any one individual or any one party,” she said. Many Republicans in Congress have largely supported Mr. Trump’s pursuit of legal challenges to the election’s outcome. But Mr. Biden said that a growing number of Senate Republicans have called for him to receive intelligence briefings as part of a transition. He noted that Vice President-elect Kamala Harris already received them as a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee. Much of Mr. Biden’s discussions centered around his incoming administration’s ability to get the pandemic under control. When asked if more governors should close nonessential businesses and reinstate stay-at-home orders, Mr. Biden said it “depends on the state.” Mr. Biden said he had “enormous respect” for Republican governors who had issued mandates for wearing masks and added that it was “totally irresponsible” for leaders to politicize mask wearing. “This is not hyperbole. It’s about being patriotic,” Mr. Biden said of the need to wear a mask. “And I think you’re seeing more and more, as this God-awful virus continues to spread almost unabated, that governors are stepping up,” he said. Mr. Biden said like many Americans, he was adjusting his plans for Thanksgiving as coronavirus cases continue to skyrocket across the country. He noted that public-health officials he had consulted recommended a maximum of 10 people in attendance for Thanksgiving gatherings and they be socially distanced and wearing masks. “I would strongly urge, not just for your sake, for the sake of your children, your mother, your father, your sisters, your brothers, whoever you get together with at Thanksgiving…there should be no group more than 10 people inside the homes,” Mr. Biden said. “That’s what they’re telling me.” Mr. Biden said he and his wife, Jill Biden, had spent the morning trying to determine their own plans for Thanksgiving and had narrowed it down to a small group of family members who will all get tested prior to the dinner. Mr. Biden’s meetings Monday with the business and labor leaders centered on how to bolster the economic recovery as Americans deal with a resurgence of the coronavirus. He declined to say if his administration would join the new Asian trade deal, called the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, signed Sunday by 15 countries, including China. The agreement creates a regional bloc that covers around a third of global economic output. Mr. Biden said he wasn’t able to discuss such matters with world leaders until he assumed office in January. He did say that the U.S. should be aligned with other democracies “so that we can set the rules of the road instead of having China and others dictate outcomes because they are the only game in town.” As he prepares his administration, Mr. Biden is expected to name senior members of his staff this week. Rep. Cedric Richmond (D., La.), who served as a national co-chairman of Mr. Biden’s campaign, is expected to leave his congressional seat to serve as a senior White House adviser overseeing public engagement, according to people familiar with the plans.

Kid at my kids school has it. Took the opportunity to talk with the Tomminator this morning about how all the mask wearing and spraying stuff down doesn’t work...look at little jimmy, he got it. Tomminator gets it now. He sees the BS. They should just release all the restrictions and let us go about our day. 98% of us will live thru it. Those in the % of at risk can get the vaccine. This whole Democrat plan is to normalize authoritarianism to the point that citizens are used to being told what to do, and then enact structural changes to government, infrastructure, etc. A Flu was weaponized to do all of this. Plan better? That's what you're complaining about? You're shitting me, right? There is no need to plan. All of you should be telling your governor, mayors, etc that you are not going to play their retarded games anymore. But instead, the little cowering sheep are falling nicely in line and running to the stores to clean them out, all for a virus that the CDC has reported will be fatal in less than 1% of the cases. This country is completely doomed if it doesn't pull its head out of its ass and grow up. Definitely a good read! "The New England Journal of Medicine has published a study that goes to the heart of the issue of lockdowns. The question has always been whether and to what extent a lockdown, however extreme, is capable of suppressing the virus. If so, you can make an argument that at least lockdowns, despite their astronomical social and economic costs, achieve something. If not, nations of the world have embarked on a catastrophic experiment that has destroyed billions of lives, and all expectation of human rights and liberties, with no payoff at all. [The earliest version of this article misstated the conditions of the control group. They were equally locked down with those who participated in the study. The difference between the two concerned testing frequency and the isolation response. This does not affect this article’s conclusion; indeed it strengthens it: even under extreme measures, the virus spread, and more so with the extra measure intended to control the virus. Nearly all infections were without symptoms.] AIER has long highlighted studies that show no gain in virus management from lockdowns. Even as early as April, a major data scientist said that this virus becomes endemic in 70 days after the first round of infection, regardless of policies. The largest global study of lockdowns compared with deaths as published in The Lancet found no association between coercive stringencies and deaths per million. " ____________________

No I am not shitting you. This just does not relate to the virus but everything. From what I have seen most folks don't put money aside for emergencies, or retirement. When I was broke I was glad I put away some money. It kept me from being out on the streets. People did not learn from the previous lock down to stock up on essential items. Does not cost that much to get some extra items. You should always have a plan and then have a back up plan to that plan. That is what years in EMS and the military taught me. Working in health care we saw another lock down coming from a mile away. We planned for it at home and then our hospital system created a plan. I am seeing some the after effects of COVID. It might not kill you but it can mess you up pretty bad and we are seeing more folks having worse symptoms than we did back in early months. The most common thing we are seeing is folks developing lung issues that are going to stick with them forever. Having a kid who is high risk with lung issues makes me more cautious than others. I have written all my city counsel members, senate reps and governor multiple times. I keep getting the same canned results every time. I also don't trust the CDC because they keep flip flopping on things since the start. We will probably never know the true numbers which is sad. It is also horrible that the younger generation expect to be taken care of b/c they were coddle by their parents and now that mentally has spread to the workplace and politics. I do agree with you that we are doomed if we can't pull our head out of our ass and toughen up.

People ought to be prepared though, how so many people have absolutely nothing stocked up for an emergency, a real one not a fake one dreamed up by Governor Douche Sock is amazing. There's a volcano 35 miles away from me. We really shouldn't be seeing any runs, these dipshits should already have shit set aside for Rainier.

Sen. Grassley Tests Positive for Coronavirus https://www.newsmax.com/politi...020/11/17/id/997510/ Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley, 87, said on Tuesday he has tested positive for the coronavirus, adding in the tweet that he feels good and plans to work from home in Iowa. Earlier Tuesday, he said he was quarantining himself after being exposed to the coronavirus, though he wasn't "experiencing any symptoms,” CBS News reports. Grassley, the second-oldest member of the Senate and the senior-most Republican, said in a statement on Tuesday: "I learned today that I've been exposed to the coronavirus. I will follow my doctors' orders and immediately quarantine as I await my test results. I'm feeling well and not currently experiencing any symptoms, but it's important we all follow public health guidelines to keep each other healthy." _________________________ "Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on or by imbeciles who really mean it." And there you have it in living color. Grassley lives in an environment where I;m sure he has a mask on virtually 24/7, the environment he works in is socially distanced, and everything it disinfected like an ER, yet he still got it. Can we all just recognize that the 'experts', you know, the people who have been completely wrong about virtually everything having to do with this virus from the very beginning, don't have a damn clue. As such, let's all go back to living our lives as normal and just ignore the decrees of this elitist garbage. That's what I intend to do. Walked into the grocery store over the weekend and the little greater guy says, "Excuse me but you're not wearing a mask", to which I responded, "You're absolutely right. Have a great day". Its way past time to just put a stop to the nonsense. ----------------------------- Guns are awesome because they shoot solid lead freedom. Every man should have several guns. Here in Texas it seems like 99.9% of all the sheep are obedient mask wearers but somehow the virus never stops surging. I guess the 25 or so people who don’t obey are still causing the spread. No one's life, liberty or property is safe while the legislature is in session.- Mark Twain

I doubt there is much spread happening by causal contact at Home Depot, masks or not. Having a useless bandana under your nose does nothing anyway. If everyone had a fitted N95 AND was trained to wear it properly AND did so at all times when in close proximity to non-household members, then mask wear would be very effective. This is pretty evident in my world of dentistry. We are spending our days in clouds of infectious aerosols. There is little doubt that we are swimming in the stuff all the time, yet the infection rate among dental personnel is well below the general population.

Pure conjecture unsubstantiated by any evidence. Until there are numerous peer reviewed case studies performed that statistically prove that assertion with this particular virus any assertion that masks of any type are effective at eliminating or even limiting the spread of this virus are nothing but conjecture. Lots and lots of conjecture from all over by all sorts of so called 'experts' doesn't mean squat when its completely unsubstantiated twaddle. And the additional assertion by the 'experts' (i.e. egotistical morons) that swatches of t-shirt or tablecloth worn across your face are effective at stopping or slowing the virus are patently absurd on every level, and only further destroy 'any' credibility they 'might' have brought to the equation. These people want to play god with our lives while they knowingly lie and guess at responses to this bug. And the sheep happily cower and comply. Really makes me angry watching this once great country accept nothing but pure BS that removes their God given rights and the freedoms. ----------------------------- Guns are awesome because they shoot solid lead freedom.
