...In California as a whole, after desperate Californians took to the beaches for temporary relief from their house arrest, Governor Newsom threatened them with an even longer shutdown if they did not instantly return to imprisonment in their own homes. This ignores the fact that the sun kills the virus and that outdoor transmission is rare. Moreover, there's increasingly strong evidence that shutdowns do not change the disease's progression. What he's doing is tyrannical. There's no other word for it...

... The big question is, why is this happening? Why has California abandoned its goal of flattening the curve and moved on, without citizen consent, to wiping out the virus completely (which will never happen)? One reason could be that panicked Progressive politicians genuinely believe that the pockets of wealth in the California economy will be strong enough to keep the state afloat indefinitely. It's hard to believe, though, that they are that stupid.

The other reason is that the state is courting financial collapse on purpose. This could be because doing so would (they hope) destroy Trump's bid for reelection. Democrats in this one-party "paradise" may also be following the Cloward-Piven strategy, which is to overload the economy so that it collapses, necessitating socialist policies. Certainly, Newsom has said that the virus offers an opportunity for Progressives to "reshape the way we do business and how we govern."

It’s beginning to look as if California is deliberately trying to tank the economy

And has it occurred to anyone yet that the average age of those people dying of the Chinese crud is likely higher than the life expectancy of most Americans?

The simpler explanation is that the tyrant Newsome is angry. He feels like he's losing his control and power. He needs to feel like the hero, so he threatens punishment if the peasants do not obey him.

In looking back over the last several months, it is obvious to me that we are fighting a war against misinformation, along with the CCP virus. The CCP virus appears to be more deadly for the elderly with a variety of comordidities (e.g. obesity, diabetes, COPD, hypertension, cancer, etc.) than most strains of influenza. In younger people we also have a large number of asymptomatic infections which resolve with no medical intervention at all. Even in the healthy elderly, a significant number of infections may be asymptomatic:
Diamond Princess report

Before we can really get a grip on the lethality of the CCP virus we need to know with a reasonable level of assurance two numbers:
1. The number of deaths FROM the CCP virus, not just those “WITH” the CCP virus, over the course of the event or meaningful length of time
2. The number of infected people (symptomatic and symptomatic) with the CCP virus over the course of the event or meaningful length of time

We will never know the exact numbers but we will get close in a year or two. Current estimates range from 0.1% to 0.4% in countries such as Germany, Iceland and South Korea who have done significant testing and have a number of cases and deaths. It may be much lower.

Unfortunately in the US, the current estimates of the number of infections are limited. On a positive note they are clearly pointing towards the likely finding that the CCP virus is already wide spread in many communities (eg. NY, Santa Clara County, LA County, etc.) with many of those being asymptomatic and the vast majority of those who are symptomatic, recovering:

NY antibody testing

Santa Clara County antibody testing

LA County antibody testing

This means our normal, healthy, immune systems will adapt as it always has to new infectious agents and the vast majority will survive with little or no adverse health effects. For people with compromised immune systems, for what ever reason, the outcome will likely be less certain.

Based on the above antibody findings, quarantining healthy people and shutting down entire economies can no longer be justified. If continued. those actions will do much more harm than the CCP virus.

I personally have absolutely no faith in data from CDC or most state health departments. In particular, anything the CDC produce regarding this incident will be forever suspect and dripping with the stink of CYA and their incompetent control actions and guidance to physicians regarding death certifications. The NIH/NIAID falls into the same bucket. If you want to learn how to do it right, study Taiwan.

For those interested, the link below does a fair job updating and summarizing the available global data regarding the lethality of the CCP virus and the impact of various control actions.

Some folks in the UK are also pushing back against their petty tyrants:
Evidence Not Fear

I am 67 and relatively healthy. For my part, last week I started getting back to my life, doing my work, taking care of my health and moving about the world as I normally do. We also must recognize that there is a lot yet to be learned about this specific virus and how it behaves in the wild against the backdrop of billions of human hosts with their unique genetic and epigenetic makeup. That is going to take years most likely.

In the meantime, having read the Art of War, and being cognizant of the teaching of FDR - "In politics, nothing happens by accident. If it happens, you can bet it was planned that way.”; and Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals, I must also consider the possibility that the inflammatory response by many anti-American politicians (eg. Newsom, Pelosi, Northam, etc.), bureaucrats, and media outlets, and perhaps the CCP itself, is a continuation of the efforts we have all witnessed to overturn the results of the 2016 election using misinformation and fear - and, at least in the case of the CCP - perhaps, win the first battle of WWIII by crippling most other economies in the world without firing a single shot.

As expected, at least by me. Cold hard facts, even if not presented perfectly, are the enemy of misinformation and the purveyors of fear.

Yup, it's gone; couldn't see it. Apparently it didn't fit youtube's liberal agenda.

YouTube Censors Viral Video of Doctors Criticizing ‘Stay-at-Home’ Order

Deleted after racking up over 5 million views.

Paul Joseph Watson

YouTube has censored a viral video in which two doctors criticized the logic of whether California’s stay-at-home coronavirus order is necessary.

The video, which had racked up over 5 million views, featured Dr. Dan Erickson and Dr. Artin Massihi, co-owners of Accelerated Urgent Care in Bakersfield, Calif.

In the clip, Erickson asserts that there is only a “0.03 chance of dying from COVID in the state of California,” prompting him to ask, “Does that necessitate sheltering in place? Does that necessitate shutting down medical systems? Does that necessitate people being out of work?”

Erickson also asked why fatalities were being counted as COVID-19 deaths when other ailments were actually more to blame.

“When someone dies in this country right now, they’re not talking about the high blood pressure, the diabetes, the stroke. They’re saying ‘Did they die from COVID?'” Erickson said. “We’ve been to hundreds of autopsies. You don’t talk about one thing, you talk about comorbidities. ER doctors now [say] ‘It’s interesting when I’m writing about my death report, I’m being pressured to add COVID. Why is that?”

The video was deleted late last night for “violating YouTube’s terms of service.”

Earlier this month, YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki told CNN that the company would ban any video content that contradicted World Health Organization recommendations.

The public is being lied to about every aspect of this fiasco. That's been obvious to many of us from the start. I hope that it's now obvious to many more of you.

I was in the grocery store a couple of days ago and actually had a couple of people glare at me, and I can only assume its because I wsn't wearing a mask. People have been brainwashed and there seems to be no way to make them even begin to consider that possibility.

NHK is the national broadcasting organization of Japan not China or was there some obscure personal insight in your post?

I don't disagree with the moral to his story, but he keeps claiming that you can extrapolate from test groups to the entire population, which is IMO blatantly false.

Thus far, people who are tested are not a random sample. That's a highly biased sample.

How about the fact that the WHO is in fact a puppet of China? Whether they are broadcasting in Japan, China, or Timbuktu who cares that NHK is Japan's? It's completely irrelevant to ersatzknarf's point.

Yet you are ok with hypothetical models? His extrapolation is more accurate than the original hypothetical models we based our response on.

I get what you're saying... it's always difficult and even dangerous to extrapolate data from test groups. They never perfectly match the entire population.
But I think his main point is that the CCP coronavirus is more widespread than we previously knew and far less deadly than we feared.
