Without doubt, military superiority belongs to Israel, and yet Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has raised eyebrows by saying Israel faces a "strategic defeat" if it doesn't reduce civilian casualties in Gaza. The Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza says over 15,200 - mostly women and children - have died since the start of the war.

The White House has questioned the official death count from the Palestinian side; however, even by conservative estimates, civilian deaths are in the multiple thousands. In a recent New York Times article entitled "Gaza Civilians, Under Israeli Barrage, Are Being Killed at Historic Pace" (which proved controversial), the Times said more civilians have died in Gaza since Oct. 7 than have died in Ukraine after nearly two years of grinding war with Russia.

Lloyd Austin focused his Saturday comments on the long-term effects of mass civilian slaughter and not only the coming global backlash, but the potential for further radicalizing an entire population:

"The center of gravity is the civilian population and if you drive them into the arms of the enemy, you replace a tactical victory with a strategic defeat," Austin said in a speech at the Reagan National Defense Forum in Simi Valley, Calif., on Saturday.

The secretary added that he has personally pushed Israeli leaders to avoid civilian casualties, prevent violence to settlers in the West Bank.

"We will continue to press Israel to protect civilians and to ensure the robust flow of humanitarian aid,” he added. —The Hill

Despite this very rare commentary and warning, Austin still emphasized US will remain Israel’s "closest friend in the world" and American support will never waiver. He said Washington's backing of Israel remains "crystal clear."

Any civilian deaths are the result of so called Palestinians and Hamas Israel doesn’t target innocents. Hamas hides behind them and Palestinians protect Hamas. It is either weak mindedness or passive aggression to think otherwise.

Newsflash: Virtually every adult in Gaza is already in the arms of the enemy. Virtually every "child" over age 10 has been thoroughly programmed to be a future terrorist.

Israel isn't driving anybody into being a terrorist who wasn't already.

We can expect more of this from now on, I suppose. The American people are going to have to accept what is happening and why it is happening, and fight back. The people must fight back, but more importantly, government at all levels is going to have to be proactive in order to stop this shit.

We might as well anticipate suicide bombers before too long. Believe me- I don't want to be predicting such things, but right now, we are weak and complacent. We must make changes.

Isn't it painfully obvious that they are not for Israel, and they couldn't care less about us?

When they put up, they will do it by doubling down on communism.

A teacher with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) reportedly held an Israeli hostage taken captive by Hamas on Oct. 7 in an attic.

The teacher, a father of 10 children, kept the hostage for almost 50 days, barely provided food, and neglected the hostage's medical needs, Israeli Channel 13's Almog Boker reported Wednesday. A Gazan doctor also held another hostage, according to Boker.

A spokeswoman for the UNRWA acknowledged the allegations but declined to comment.

The Israel Defense Forces says troops operating in the northern Gaza Strip have located dozens of rockets hidden under boxes with UNRWA markings in a residential home, and other weaponry belonging to Hamas.

Troops of the 7007th Reserve Battalion were searching a home in a neighborhood when they found a room full of boxes bearing the logo of the UN agency that supports Palestinian refugees.

Underneath the boxes, dozens of rockets, mortars and other explosives were found, the IDF says.

I haven’t the slightest doubt that the “humanitarian aid” shipments flowing into Gaza are laden with weapons. Palestinians cannot be trusted, despite what anyone says. They are as complicit as Hamas at this point.

I would’ve guessed that the Israelis are inspecting those shipments. In any case, Hamas is running low on personnel, rather than weapons.
