If all they have are lies, I am not worried. In a lot of ways, this is similar to media reports and polls in the weeks before the 2016 Presidential election. Lies, lies, and more lies.

Kavanaugh Accuser Sued Her Former Employer For Sexual Harassment. But That's Not All: Her attorney was none other than Debra Katz

https://townhall.com/tipsheet/...ats-not-all-n2523023

Judge Brett Kavanaugh's third sexual assault accuser, Julie Swetnick, seems to have a few skeletons in her closet.

Swetnick, who accused Kavanaugh of gang raping her in high school, sued her former employer, New York Life Insurance Co., for sexual harassment, the Daily Wire reported. Her attorney was none other than Debra Katz, who is currently representing Kavanaugh's initial accuser, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford. The company ultimately settled with Swetnick.

According to the Daily Caller News Foundation, she has had financial issues over the last few years:

Swetnick also claims to have a security clearance with the IRS despite having recently had a $40,000 judgement against her for unpaid taxes. She settled a $40,303 IRS judgement on March 23 of this year, according to a public records search. Maryland court records show a $62,821 tax lien filed against her on Oct. 2, 2015.

And, the icing on the cake? Swetnick's ex-boyfriend, Richard Vinneccy, filed a restraining order against her. She allegedly threatened to kill him after he broke up with her, POLITICO reported.

The two dated for four years before the break up. According to Vinneccy, she continued to threaten him, even after he married his wife and had a child.

“Right after I broke up with her, she was threatening my family, threatening my wife and threatening to do harm to my baby at that time,” Vinneccy told POLITICO. "I know a lot about her.”

"She’s not credible at all,” he said. “Not at all.”

A Miami-Dade County court docket shows Vinneccy filed the petition for an injunction on March 1, 2001. The case was dismissed thirteen days later when an affidavit of non-ability to advance fees was filed.

Despite new accusers, Democrats war on Brett Kavanaugh could cost them midterm elections

https://www.usatoday.com/story...s-column/1437100002/

By disparaging Kavanaugh, Democrats have backed themselves into a corner. They might pay in the midterm elections.

Have Democrats gone so overboard in trying to demonize Brett Kavanaugh that they risk a backlash from upstanding men and the women who love them?

Let’s start with the premise that Democrats want to keep Judge Kavanaugh off the high court by any means necessary. Their modus operandi is to bring up alleged sexual assault charges late in the game to delay or derail the nomination process. They see it as a win-win: they either destroy Kavanaugh, discourage the Republican voter base, and deal a significant blow to the Trump presidency (the real target of all this); or Republicans hang together in the face of this political monsoon, confirm Kavanaugh, and alienate women voters in the process, leading to Democratic victories in the midterm election.

Democrats seem to think this political game won’t cost them. But they have left the reaction of men out of the equation.
Moving against Kavanaugh could cost Democrats

An NPR/Marist poll this week finds that a plurality of Americans are undecided on the issue, but there is a predictable gender gap with somewhat more men believing Kavanaugh and more women believing accuser Christine Blasey Ford. This supports the Democratic strategy in general, but it is noteworthy that many red-state Democratic Senators are still on the fence. Moving too soon against Kavanaugh could cost them at the ballot box if Ford does not come off as slam-dunk credible in Thursday’s hearing.

By most accounts, Brett Kavanaugh is a straight arrow guy. He has lived an exemplary and successful life. Yet his very squareness is the foundation for the Democratic story line, the contrasting idea that Kavanaugh has a malevolent hidden history. With the new and bizarre “gang rape” claims put forward by “total lowlife” porn lawyer Michael Avenatti, the story could become the Duke Lacrosse case 2.0. It’s the Lifetime movie version of a Supreme Court confirmation hearing.

To support their political assault on Kavanaugh, Democrats have been forced to take some controversial stances. For example, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-NY, says there is no presumption of innocence for Kavanaugh because this is simply a “fact-finding” exercise. Democrats in general have rushed to the conclusion that Kavanaugh’s accusers are telling the truth, imposing a significant presumption of guilt on the judge. Senator Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, significantly expanded the issue when she said that “the men in this country” are “perpetuating all of these kinds of actions” and need to “shut up” and “do the right thing for a change.”

But men are rightly concerned about Democrats normalizing the idea that raising 30-to-35-year-old charges with no hard evidence and no presumption of innocence can wipe away reputations and careers. Why would any man vote for a political party that is generating this toxic environment?

If Democrats win on Kavanaugh, these tactics will be become commonplace. Any man could find himself facing unprovable accusations automatically taken as fact, made by an accuser who spent “six days ... carefully assessing her memories and consulting with her attorney.” Imagine the impact on workplace disputes, divorce proceedings, or any situation in which a man might stand accused, rightly or not.
The Kavanaugh case could set an anti-male precedent

This puts an extraordinary burden on men, who would face a dual-track justice system in which they are always in the wrong, unless they can prove otherwise. And it’s not just men who should be concerned but mothers of sons who would not like to see their children’s futures wrecked by people exploiting the potentially anti-male precedent of the Kavanaugh case. Also men’s wives, sisters, female coworkers and friends should reject the extremist notion that all men are suspect, if not outright guilty.

The gender gap has been a fact of political life for decades. The last Democratic presidential candidate to win a majority of male votes was Jimmy Carter in 1976. Perhaps Democrats feel that they can unleash whatever attacks on the male character they want, and it won’t matter at the polls.

But while Democrats use the Kavanaugh confirmation process to game the midterms for a favorable outcome among women voters, it could easily backfire. They may find they have motivated even more men — and women as well — to turn out to vote Republican to defend the male half of the population against this wholly un-American approach to justice.

No matter what they say, they do not really know when it comes down to it if all of the dems will vote no. This is more true now than it was a week ago.

I hope they press Ford on not remembering how she got home.

It is 10 to 11 miles from the Columbia Country Club / Chevy Chase / Bethesda area to the Blasey home.

The Blasey home was 17 Masters Ct, Potomac MD in 1982. That home is now in Blasey Trust Fund.

IF she spent "most summers" "almost every day" at the Columbia Country Club, she would have traveled near the "house" quite often.

Lindsey Graham said it right just a little while ago..."if the Republicans turn their backs on Judge Kavanaugh, then we deserve to have the voters turn thier backs on us, and I hope they do." Indeed

Graham also said that he is more determined than ever to vote for Kavanaugh.

The news now by Shannon Bream is that Grassley may have a man who has come forward and supplied a written statement to the committee that he may be the one who had the encounter with Ford.

I did not read all of this article but, judging by the title, I have been saying the same thing for the last few days. I think their plan of stalling until the midterms will backfire against them. I think the center right people will be so disgusted by this they will come out to vote and the center left will be so disgusted they will stay home.

Just on Shanon Bream, Ed Henry was reading through judiciary committee timeline details and they interviewed a man twice under oath, Monday and Tuesday, who believes he is who Ford is referring too about the alleged sexual assault incident. No name was given or more details.

A couple of thoughts before bedtime:

1. Why did Kavanaugh only rape liberal women? You'd think someone that rapey would stumble upon a Republican as he raped his way through town.

2. I get that some victims don't come forward for various reasons, but many do report sexual assaults against them. With every new accusation of decades old, previously unreported assaults, it seems quite coincidental that none of the victims ever reported the assaults. What are the odds? And what is Julie Swetnick's excuse for not reporting all the gang rapes of minors that she was aware of. Maybe she was too traumatized after her own rape to report it, but she wasn't a victim of the other rapes - why not report them?

The whole thing stinks to high heaven. I hope it costs the Dems big in the midterms, but really even that is not sufficient punishment for their depraved lust for power at any cost. The Dems as a party have gone off the rails into a territory that defies description. Whatever it is, they are nowhere near fit to govern this great nation.

Only issue I have with this post is were those roads there 30+ years ago. But if not the route maybe more difficult, conversely more likely to be memorized.
