Yea, surprised to see him say that. Hopefully true but...
That POS said Trump should drop out of the primary race last time. I e-mailed him, reminded him we put him in office and we could take him out... at least it isn't necessary, he quit.

I actually think the memes of President Trump expressing joy are disgusting. He may really feel that way (and so do many here), but it is definitely not politically savvy to make it obvious. (I'm sure he didn't do it, but I think they are in bad taste.)

RE: potential court-packing

Hypothetically, is it within the Judicial branch's authority to refuse to seat extras thrust on them by the Legislative branch?

If they did so, asserting Judicial independence from Legislative branch as the rationale, what would the Constitution say were the penalties? The only thing I know of that can remove a Justice is impeachment, which would take 2/3 of the Senate.

Constitutionally, this is explicitly a power of Congress. If the judiciary blatantly ignores the Constitution, I'm not sure what happens.

I remember a certain prophetic statement here, something to the affect "There will be some much winning it will hurt, so sit back and enjoy"

Yup.

I don't care how you view this, or how this actually moves ahead. The President is the President. And he is winning, and it is great.

Salty tears at the Washington ComPost...

I like the sound and vision of "apex predator of U.S. politics" much better than "cocaine Mitch"

howardfineman @howardfineman

Here’s my latest piece for the @washingtonpost, this one on how #McConnell, whom I’ve covered for decades, is wrecking the credibility and machinery of all three branches of the federal government. No joke. We’ll talk about it on @Morning_Joe tomorrow.

Opinion | Mitch McConnell is the apex predator of U.S. politics - The Senate majority leader is interested only in total dominance.

Okay. I like that. Two of my favorite things: Star Trek and Haikus.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

He said nominate and confirm! Do it now! Hearings are not required, but have been a traditional formality.

He's mulling over the possible picks now.
