It is funny how one’s perspective colors one perceptions, particularly on the interwebs where tone of voice, facial expression, and other cues are missing.

I guess I also haven’t been paying that much attention to where Kraquin is coming from, so I may have totally misread his post.

But I saw it as totally a joke, funny as hell, and poking a little fun at those who might be taking things too seriously.

If I totally misread, then you’re right, another one who might want to consider reducing his kool-aid consumption. Otherwise, Bravo, funny as hell.

I‘m sure the dumping was at taxpayer expense. I wouldn’t bet on the cleanup being.

There is a good chance the nonprofit that supports the park or the skaters themselves will end up cleaning it up. It will likely happens much faster and with lower odds of things getting torn up that way, than if the waited for the city. Sigh...

So once again, in the name of helping the people, the gov't screws the people. And such is a founding principle of socialism.

My comrades and I are doing our part from Montana and sending pics of flocks of Canada geese, herds of cattle, goats, deer, elk...and so, so many pics of trout.

Excellent suggestions! I'll be looking for pics of Democrat politicians and health care workers failing to follow the guidelines they are setting for others...such as what I saw in one news story yesterday.

I would also recommend photos of Joe Biden sniffing women's hair.

It's quite obvious that it is the rights to Liberty that everyone is talking about here. However in this case Life and Liberty are in conflict. So, answer this, what is more important. My answer is that Life trumps Liberty. Because if your 6 feet under Liberty don't mean squat. I expect that our Founders would feel the same.

Because there is the provision written into the Constitution for Martial Law.

quote:
Article 1, Section 9 of the US Constitution states, "The Privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it.

This provision specifically allows the suspension of the Right of Habeas Corpus. In plain English that means that your right to Trial is suspended. By simple inference this means that you can be arrested and locked up AT WILL because you are not permitted to any argument against that arrest. This means your Right to Liberty is completely suspended under Martial Law. I will also note that one cause enumerated in the Constitution for declaring Martial Law is Invasion. Granted, we have not been Invaded by an army but we actually have been invaded by this Virus. Note that Article One does not specify the specific TYPE of invasion, all it says is Invasion.

Note, the power to declare Martial Law lies with the President and every States Governor. If you don't believe it, look it up. The simple fact is that all that is required for these lockdowns to be made 100% Constitutional is for the Governor in that state to declare Martial Law. You all need to be thankful that Martial Law hasn't been declared. Because that little provision provides the President or Governor the power of a Dictator.

So you folks just keep on blathering about the Constitution. Two words make those arguments go up in smoke and those words are Martial Law.

Talk about "blathering"!
Holy Hell!!!!

Your rant of "Habeas Corpus"? Yeah, NO. There still needs to be Probable Cause for an arrest.

Since Martial Law HASN'T been declared ANYWHERE in the US, your whole argument is invalid, and was a waste of your time.

Nice play on words with "Invasion"!
So by your logic, Martial Law should have been signed when the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Kinks and the rest of the groups came in the early 60's during the British Invasion!
Hell, Florida needs to declare Martial Law with the invasion of iguanas and pythons!

Again, be glad there IS an active US Constitution! Your blathering would probably get your tossed in the stalag.

If you want to quarantine, go ahead. You have this cool thing called "freedom", you get to stay at home as much as you want! No one is dragging you out of your house and making you interact... Well, not yet, Comrad Scooter.

It would not have played very well for them to be shown dragging a guy in uniform out of the water. Glad they changed their beach policy too. The other beaches here need to do the same. Lots of residents would like to use the beach for walking, jogging etc...all allowed under the orders now in place. I also noticed no social distancing going on, on the part of those officials.

They say sarcasm is the lowest form of wit. I guess the fact that I enjoy it so much doesn’t say much about me. Oh well.

Again, Bravo on your meme. It probably belongs in the funny political meme thread even if some miss it.

Two thoughts come to mind:

I wonder if he’ll get in trouble with his command for politics in uniform. I sure hope not.

Of course the officials aren’t social distancing. Do you not understand how things work? We are the government, we make the rules for you little people, we don’t follow them ourselves. Sheesh, even our gardeners still get to work, can’t inconvenience your rulers silly.

Good point. Though if I were a user of the park or part of the nonprofit, I'd be way tempted to call the City office and say, "you made this mess, you come clean it up." Or I'd send the city an invoice for the time spent by others cleaning up the sand.

God bless America.

I suspect the city would be just as happy (maybe happier) if the sand did not get cleaned up.

JAX Beach right after the beach re-opened. Yeah, I'd say folks have about had enough from the looks of the turnout. I'm not going to link the the article this pic was clipped from given the moronic commentary of the author.
