Quite. And again, the same type member completely ignores that 99 percent of the people contracting this virus survived. 86 percent have no or mild symptoms.

It’s just the vomiting back of the leftist mantra “We’re all going to die”.

“We either close everything and die waiting for the virus to go away, or we reopen and live,” Veneto governor Luca Zaia said Thursday.

The La Repubblica daily estimated Sunday that 11.5 million Italians — exactly half of the official workforce — have stopped receiving incomes and started applying for aid.

Much of the Western world is now debating how it can end weeks of confinement without setting off a second pandemic wave.

Yeah... what can't go on forever, won't go on forever.
Governments produce nothing useful so they cannot provide us with a living.
Things will open up and people will get back to work because they must. "Social distancing" will continue, but hopefully on a voluntary basis.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

It’s not just states but counties and municipalities. I’m in Palm Beach County FL, Boca Raton. All we hear is Liberal talking points that we have to isolate until virus is gone, think of the lives lost if we don’t.

Everyone keeps saying follow the science, then spout off like this is a looney tunes cartoon. Facts are that stats can be used to to lie, have always been used to lie and are doing so now. Destroying the economy and keeping folks from healthcare is and will kill more than this. This can be handled logically and rationally by opening up and being smart.

Wearing cloth masks and gloves is nothing more than political theatre just like the TSA at airports. So fed up with the hyperbole, “all or nothing” thinking as the lemmings blindly race to the cliff. Amazing how many folks have come out as Nazi’s in their behavior and intolerance- just look at CA and putting sand in skate parks. These are the same people that are constitutional scholars AND now are medical professionals. These idiots have no accountability and can only see as far as their toes - Darwin has been beaten by our modern society and we are NOT better for it.

Rant off

Let's not forget that there are a whole lot of "scaredy-cats" and pajama boys out there.

Less than an hour ago, one of the more strident voices on my local Nextdoor popped in to argue that everyone should wear a mask -- even when going for a walk. This, because she read a NY Times article that said COVID-19 could be transmitted via air.

I simply replied to her, "The NY Times has been lying to us for decades, and all of a sudden NOW they're telling the truth???"

Mutiny? Civil disobedience comes before mutiny.

You can't truly call yourself "peaceful" unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of great violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless.

Life trumps Liberty? How about brains??? We can do both. Yeah there may be some inconveniences, but you can reopen the vast majority of the economy in very short order while protecting public health. That seems to be missing here. You can recognize the very serious threat. (And it is a serious threat. If you're in an area heavily infected, you'll see it real quick). So you give some general guidelines of what's expected with your reopening plans for business (masks, social distancing etc) and let them start reopening. Restores liberty and the economy and keeps us safe.

Scooter, I’m sorry to hear you have such physical issues. I hope that you are able to get through this, and that you gain some perspective.

At some point each of us *will* die. I hope that each of us actually lives before our time to die.

ETA missing “of ”. s/us/of us/. Must learn to proofread, grrr.

As for me and my family we will enjoy liberty.

We are going to break the executive order as we have been since this began by physically going to church where there will be more than 10 people in attendance.

And we will physically be in the building.

Right out of the Stasi, except that the Stasi was more subtle. The people targeted never knew who was fucking with them, or even that they were being fucked with. Anybody reporting violations of social distancing in 2020 would probably have reported Anne Frank in 1944.

Excellent suggestions! I'll be looking for pics of Democrat politicians and health care workers failing to follow the guidelines they are setting for others...such as what I saw in one news story yesterday.

SAN CLEMENTE (CBSLA) — A popular skatepark in San Clemente was filled with sand to discourage skaters from using it during the coronavirus pandemic and to promote social distancing.

San Clemente had shut down all its parks and facilities on April 1 under the state’s stay-at-home orders, but skaters ignored signs warning against trespassing at the Ralphs Skate Court, 241 Avenida La Pata.

Since park facilities have been closed city officials say they routinely saw people visit the skatepark, even by some children accompanied with their parents, according to the San Clemente Times. City officials told the newspaper they followed in the footsteps of other cities, and filled the skatepark with 37 tons of sand.

The nonprofit group that has raised money to support the skatepark, however, says the city made the decision to fill the skatepark with sand without notifying them first.

Scooter, you stated that you studied a great deal of world history. Yet, even though it is basically repetitive, you still seemed to learn nothing from it. Nor even from our own Declaration of Independence, Constitution and Bill of Rights.
Those truths it seems, are not so self evident to everyone.
