I've noticed some remarks on the forum about MPX trigger upgrades (i.e. Geissele 2 Stage [G2S] Trigger). Other than picatinny furniture items, what other AR15 Items (e.g. charging handle, mag release, etc) can be used on the MPX as after-market items?

John from Sig contacted me back this morning and after seeing the pictures they want the gun to come back to them. Looks like they are trying to do the right thing. Hopefully it leads to an improvent to the charging handle to eliminate any issues anyone else is having.

Would you mind posting up the pictures you sent to Sig here?

I'm curious to see at what level of damage Sig felt they wanted the gun returned.

We'll be VERY interested to hear how Sig responds to this issue. Thanks, johntsi!

Of course not, mine doesn't seem as bad as others I have seen but I did notice it also was hitting the upper on both sides of the charging handle and had cut the corners off.

Sorry for the poor quality, took them with a cell phone.

No worries, and thank you for posting your pics.

Please keep us posted as to Sig's response.

The loosey goosey charging handle would bother me more than those wear marks.

That's good news. I'll call Sig tomorrow. Mine is much worse. There is actually chipping and folding of the upper where it meets the lower.

Trigger, grip and safety. With the proper side folder mechanism, you can use AR stocks as well. I'm not 100%, but you might be able to use AR bolt and mag releases, but with Sig's slick Ambi controls, I don't really know why you would replace them.

The bolt and charging handle are very different.

Shackelford,
Thanks for the info. Gathering information to determine after-market possibilities.
I expect with time more after-market items will appear.

That's awesome to hear, was worried they wouldn't be out by the time my form 1 was back.

The Kate Moss is delayed. She just got escorted off an airplane while drunk.
MMMMM Vodka!

And does anyone also shocked that a supermodel is flying a value airline?

Uuuggghhh... I just spoke with my dealer (Sig-direct dealer) about the eta on my 2 MPX's. Sig is telling him like October - November!!! That's crazy!

By the way, what is the scoop on the "Kate Moss" stock? Do we expect availability for MPX anytime soon?

Folks

I am looking to add a Sig Brace to my MPX. I don't see them on the SIG site? Can anyone point me in the right direction? Sig or other vendor.

Lastly I plan on getting a Form 1 done to SBR this at some point. Who makes a good side folder for it?

Thanks

We're making a few different style sliding and folders but I can't crank them out fast enough right now.

Bad news guys, looks like changing the trigger voids the warranty. Very sad considering it truly needs a lighter trigger IMO....

MPX Trigger Compatibility

The SIG MPX has a fire control group specifically designed to accommodate the high impulse of the MPX operating system. The MPX Trigger Bridge (indicated below by arrow) is in place to reduce wear and extend the life of the factory installed fire control components. Removal of the Trigger Bridge is NOT recommended and will void the warranty of the firearm. While the SIG MPX fire control components are similar to the AR15 platform, and aftermarket fire control components may fit, installation is NOT recommended in the SIG MPX. Doing so may result in damage to the MPX proprietary fire control components or the aftermarket components you installed.

So it will damage what? The pins? The trigger itself? I'm just shy of 10k rounds and I want to know what "damage that will be caused?"
Seriosuly other than wear on the trigger sear engagement I don't see what that helps....
