Currently 74° and 56% which is good.

Last few days have been high 80's and low 90's with lots of humidity.

Some friends upgraded to bigger window units (which they have permanently mounted through the wall) and gave me one of their old ones. As much as I hate the thought of what it's going to do to my electric bill, I hate trying to sleep on damp sheets in a hot, humid room even more. It's been a godsend.

Good news is, it might get used 5 or 6 weeks out of a year in a bad Summer. And then about 12 hours a day max.

Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

79* at 1830, much cooler downstairs in our finished basement. No AC and very rarely feel like we need it.

No AC here. The room I’m in is 74°; in the basement where I sleep it’s 56°.
Sometimes during the hottest periods I run a fan.

Right now, 72 with AC and the outside temp at 97 with 16% humidify. In the winter we keep the house at 69. We keep the temp in the house where we are comfortable. I didn't spend my working years investing and saving to have a comfortable retirement to worry about utility costs. When the bill comes I pay it, whatever it is.

Currently 71 in my house. I got my newest electric bill from June today and it's $50 more than May and I'm ok with that as I'd rather pay a little more by running the AC and be comfortable.

It's an older house... but 77° really isn't uncomfortable to me.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
