Same here. 318 with a 3-speed. It eventually got an A833 4-speed. Was my DD for 3 years. Replaced it with a brand new '75 Dart Sport, also with a 4-speed. |

| VW Beetle. Probably a '66 or so. About the same time, an old Willy's Jeep, from the late 40's or early 50's. |

| Ford 6N, followed by a Ford 650, I think it was. On road, there were several at once around me, but primarily a 1959 Ford F100, 3 on the tree and a 292 Y block. And now I have 3. 1966 Mustang, 1996 Ranger, 2024 Bronco. Strangely enough, I’m not a one brand guy, but all my stick shifts have worked out that way. |

That adds non-synchromesh into the mix. You have to manually match the gear speeds or they will clash and grind, especially when downshifting. This can be done pretty quickly with practice, however. My brother has owned a 1929 pickup for >50 years and in the last few years did some "souping up" to the engine. I have never driven it myself, so no experience with non-synchro transmissions. The Model A was the first Ford car with conventionally placed and operated shifter and pedals. |

| My buddy in high school’s CRX. Fun times. By the time I got my first car, when I was 18, I was GTG and bought a turbocharged 6MT AWD car.
What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone |
