Breaking into someone's house with a plan to take them hostage and shatter their kneecaps with a hammer, and then bludgeoning a bystander in the head when your primary target isn't there, is pretty fucking far from "sane justice".

While I detest Mr. and Mrs. Pelosi's politics, I do feel sorry that Paul had to endure this attempt on his life. Like many, I was skeptical about the whole situation until I watched the video footage yesterday, of the break-in and then when the Police arrived.

Having now seen the video, I agree.

Wow. He did not talk about space alien invaders as the reason. Come on. This guy has a LONG history of psychological problems and lives in a schoolbus. I do not identify with a guy like this. There have been many references to his drug issues as well as his mental health concerns.

All he said was that the guy sounds sane based upon the transcript of his police interview and I agree with this. I'm aware of his mental health history, but if you read the transcript, DePape does sound perfectly lucid. He ranted a bit, but no more so than many of the people in this forum.

Even with the evil and illegal acts they were responsible for?

From the sidelines it seems this was Karma cashing out on his corrupt ass. We all know karma comes at you heavy in different ways.

If we allow criminals to be subject to lawlessness because they’re criminals, then we have no respect for the law. Any excuse for failure to provide equal protection of the laws to everyone can be applied for the failure to provide the protection of the law to anyone. That practice is one of the hallmarks of tyrannies: The favored are protected until they are favorites no longer and then they become the targets of the same lawlessness that they used against the previously unfavored. If you believe there are people who should not be protected by the law, be ready to accept losing the same protections yourself.

^^^Nobody is suggesting ANY of that. Karma however, is a different story...It shows NO mercy, recognizes NO privilege, and does NOT discriminate! Wink

While I firmly believe that anyone who breaks into someones house should receive the death sentence, right there, right then; I doubt anyone would've been too upset if Nancy would have been the victim instead of her husband.

Understood. I guess the past few years of covid and her flaunting the laws and getting haircuts and bragging to us about her high priced ice cream while while the rest of us battle over toilet paper has shortened my fuse.

And this does not include all of the allegations of insider trading and the complete disrespect and lack of accountability for disrespecting a sitting President at Trumps State of the Union address.

I would not be a good King of the World. The amount of heads on pikes, people swinging from trees, people in shackles, and rotten fruit thrown would make the flooding of the earth in Noah's time look like a Caribbean cruise.

A hammer to the melon does not bother me as I truly believe it is not God or man that applied the justice. But karma as nhracecraft has suggested

It certainly seemed that way to me. If karma manifests itself by a horrendously illegal act and that’s what we’re celebrating, then we’re celebrating the illegal act. It’s not some vague supernatural force at work here, it’s invading someone’s home, terrorizing a old man, and then putting him in the hospital with what could have been a fatal or permanently debilitating injury.

But yes, I believe in karma as evidenced by one of my favorite sayings: “Dear Karma, I have a list of people you’ve missed.” Roll Eyes

A home supposedly guarded and monitored 24/7 by .gov police. All the while trying their best to disarm the rest of us.

This is far from doddering old man getting his ass beat with a hammer. He relied and continues to rely on 24/7 protection, the likes none of us will ever see.

Just look at his recent DWI. The rest of us would be paying 10s of thousands of dollars in legal fees, 10 year driving probation's that, if we are lucky, will allow us to just drive to work, and a lifetime of having to try to explain the issue away just to feed your family.

Devils advocate:

The dumb fucker fell for the oldest trick in the book.......rely on someone else to protect you.

If the idiot had just shifted his politics slightly right, and stood up to his pimp Nancy,s bought a gun, took simple training and carried the damned thing, he possibly , I say possibly as a gun isn't a magic wand, been able to defend himself like him and his cunt wife that want to deny us.

Shit face had his politics come back to bite him in the ass.....de fund the cops and ban personal protection.

I don't know, I'm not really seeing it that way. Certainly nobody's 'celebrating' this though.

The vast majority seem to be expressing empathy for the plight of Paul Pelosi, are critical of the 911 operator & response by the Police, and have utter contempt for those that manipulated the entire situation for political purposes and withheld info from the public that would've brought near immediate clarity to what happened.

Regardless of whether your wife is a traitorous wretch and enemy to this country, or you've cheated the system for your own benefit and significant/ill gotten financial gains, NOBODY deserves to be attacked in their home by a deranged whackjob or assaulted with a hammer to the melon!

Just to be clear, I'm neither suggesting that Paul Pelosi has somehow received any due Karma here, nor reveling in his unfortunate circumstances, but rather pointing out that those who may be perceived to be 'celebrating' are simply implying that Karma 'may' have played a part here.

That said, apparently there 'may' be some that are all in on the deserved Karma thing...

If there are any fans of the Pelosis in this forum, they are keeping it to themselves. I just don't want to see an old man bashed in the head with a hammer. If anyone thinks I have to defend this position, the problem is not mine, it's theirs.

False.

A member who is a law enforcement officer in the area where the arrest occurred posted on the outcome of that case and how it compares to "the norm" in that are.

He got the same thing anybody else would.

He's also an old man who, frankly, will be able to go on about his life after this on account of not having to ever apply for work, etc.

As I posted in the Pelosi DUI thread, Paul Pelosi is an asshole, but nothing happened to him on his DUI that wouldn't happen to anyone else.
