Brought BTrace to the island with me. Heading home tomorrow so bringing back with me.

It is a small grocery store located under Silver Sides restaurant in West End by the roundabout. As an aside, if you’re staying in West End, Silverside is the only place where you can get a decent old-fashioned. In fact… It may be the only place in the West End where you can get any kind of old-fashioned. Most of these places don’t have any type of bourbon selection. Just scotch.

Scotch and Rum. I am heading to Guanaja, maybe talk them into a booze run before the ferry.

As an aside, Eldon’s grocery store sells Yuengling beer by the case! That was a bit of a surprise as well.

I was just there but from a cruise ship, all the Woodford and BT I could drink on the boat Big Grin

Last year I was in Poland, the BT was about $20 for 750 ml. I guess because of the exchange rate being a lot better on the Zloty and Euro than it was

We recently took a cruise to Alaska, Blanton’s was part of our drink package; so I was drinking Blanton‘s old fashions in the cigar lounge!

Meanwhile in Minnesota, there’s zero chance of finding it on the shelf, 100% chance that it will be well over MSRP if they have it behind the counter, and most likely that it’s already been allocated to friends of the store.

Sing it brother. I had a chance to buy a bottle at a local store for $125 and just couldn't do it. Saw 2 bottles in Chaska a few weeks ago for $235 each. A Michter's 10yr Rye was $350. It's insanity.

My Brother called me yesterday, all giddy. He has been chasing Bourbon for a couple of years.

Ohio stores have been receiving A Lot of Buffalo Trace offerings this week. Buffalo Trace, Antique 107, Eagle Rare and Blanton's.

He scored his first bottle of Blanton's yesterday at Deer Park Deli. He asked me for other delivery dates for local stores.

Today he called from the Sharonville store, after scoring his second bottle of Blanton's.

As I reminded him, it ain't about the juice, it is all about the hunt. You never forget your first score!

For the Trifecta, he picked up his third bottle at the Madeira store today.

He cannot believe it.

I really want to try the Old Forester Whiskey Row Bottled-in-Bond but it looks like a limited release. Oh well, it was too expensive anyways.

Grabbed a store pick of Elijah Craig Toasted barrel proof.

On the upper end of the price for bourbon from me, but damn. That's some good juice!

Really nice nose, sweet caramel with subtle spices going down. Drinks under its proof. This is one that needs nothing but a Glencairn.

Cheers~

I grabbed the same bottle, it is good

A local distiller, ASW did a toasted rye and a bourbon, they are both outstanding

I thought I would never buy another bottle of Blanton's
The three bottles I have were bought near me for $59, I had become quite friendly with the owner. He sold it to the Patel's. They are $129 now Frown

I went in to my new favorite spot Saturday and they had two bottles of Blanton's left, $79 limit two. Grabbed some BT too, $29 for 750ml, $39 for a liter and $69 for the biggun. It's at least $10 more around here for the 750 usually

Agreed on the EC Toasted Barrel. The bottle I had was delicious all on its own.

Good weekend!

Friday I picked up a Dickel 15 and Elijah store pick 10 year.

Saturday was store picks Four Roses small batch barrel strength, Woodford double oak, and Rittenhouse Rye.

There will be old fashions next weekend and sipping out of the glencairn with a cigar!

Cheers

I got lucky this past weekend when my small town ABC store had a few bottles of 1792 Sweat Wheat on the shelf. I've been on the lookout for a bottle for a while now. At $40, its an excellent buy.

Been finding stuff more easily of late. Got a bottle of McKenna BIB at my local store. Only one they had. Stopped by a kinda large liquor store in the city where I work part time. They had 3 cases of Bookers (limit 1) and Buffalo Trace on the shelf. First time in months I've found BT.

Oy I'd have to pass on the $250 shot also!

I forgot to add that I also picked up a Weller 107 last Friday. It keeps going up in price and is at $59 here, but I like it enough to keep reserves.

Cheers~

Is Blantons a thing? I have been doing free ffl transfers for coworkers and their family. A coworkers father asked if I liked bourbon and I said sure do.

I just did two transfers for him last week and I got a text today about bourbon. After saying yes I do he sent this pic

another coworker saw it and asked for the cap.

Yes, Blantons is a thing. That's a nice gift. Retail seems to be around $65 but depending on the state you live in, a bottle of Blanton's can fetch up to $200.

The caps are kinda cool when you first realize what's going on.
