Johnny - I would have done the same with the Woodford dub dub. They are sitting on shelves here in Oregon at $200. They are not everywhere, but they are available.

I have not tried it and I'm sure it is delicious, but at more than 3X the cost of a double oak it is hard to justify. Youtube reviews seem to follow the same logic.

Grabbed a W 107 last Thursday for $59, because I just can't pass it up when I see it.

Cheers~

I’m in another “Whiskey is Neat” social group and they are coordinating a Woodford Reserve Double Oaked barrel purchase. I’m in for 2 bottles and will report back when received.

1792 BiB, DSP 12, Spec's store pick. Pretty good. I used a little for peach cobbler. There was a smidgen of peanut but that is fading, thankfully.

Yeah, the Costco we frequent down in Fort Collins has had some nice bourbons lately, I picked up a Heaven Hill bottled in bond offering that’s nice, and also one of my favorites of all, Russell’s Reserve Single Barrel. I haven’t bought it in a long time because the price keeps climbing beyond what I like to spend. Truthfully, this was too high as well at $67, but it’s really good, and I thought I deserved a Christmas present.

Costco had Old Overholt 12yr rye so I grabbed a bottle. I like rye with some age and Costco pricing is about $20-$30 under elsewhere.

Rumor has it that the ANGELS ENVY TRIPLE OAKED is very smooth. At $60 it seems reasonable, but my wife was standing next to me Frown

I've picked up a few store picks lately but nothing super hard to find. ECBP, a new MM Private Select, a Knob Creek Cask Strength store pick, and was gifted a bottle of Horse Soldier Barrel Strength.

I’ve likely missed mention of it in the thread, but has anyone here tried Baker's?

I bought a bottle for a friend last week. He was so excited about it, I was tempted to go get myself one. (No, he hasn’t shared yet. Razz )

Nice one Swede! That should be tasty.

Went into my local store to get some Five Farm's to gift to a friend. If you have not tried it and enjoy a little Irish Cream in your coffee it is pretty darn good.

Anyhow they had a store pick Blanton's for $79. I had to stare at a bit to realize one needed to be added to the bourbon cabinet. It is quite good with a lot of caramel notes up front and a soft finish.

Cheers~

Merry Christmas, friends and neighbors.

The Lovely Girlfriend bought me a bottle of Booker’s this week. I haven’t sampled it yet, but am very much looking forward to it.

Merry Christmas to all.

I will be enjoying some Eagle Rare this evening, while smoking an Eagle Rare cigar my Daughter gave me last night.

Has anyone tried the Eagle Rare 12 yet?

Thx.

I gave my husband an Elmer T. Lee and an EH Taylor Single Barrel for Christmas.

Penelope is (re)releasing Havana soon and that's a bottle I want for myself. I'm a big fan of Penelope.

nothing new here (although I did pick up another bottle of A107) but had my BIL in town and when he told me a couple of bourbons he didn't like, and some he did, I decided to taste our way through the BT mashbills.
