Dang. Was gonna order one but they’re sold out.

I put another 100 rounds through mine. Got my RMR zeroed and was able to get hits on steel easily at 60-70 yards. I’m impressed with the gun.

Wow, they're sold out of a piece of plastic that costs more than the gun itself. Only in America.

Not that I think the price is justified, but it’s 7075 aluminum, not polymer.

Oops, I just assumed it was plastic. I should have read the specs. Still way too expensive.

I was reading the specs. Does not come with mag release or mag release spring. Wonder what fits it?

Looks like Magpul is releasing the subcompact and full size grip modules for the Ruger RXM. Both are listed as "Coming Soon" and for $40 on the Magpul site.

Subcompact

Full size

Local shop has the RXM's on sale for $379...might as well pick up a second one!!

No new uppers needed. These new modules use G26 or G17 mags, but still use the standard RXM's G19-length slide.

Effectively a G26L or G45 configuration.

I get that, but what if you want the shorter upper? Are these just set up to accommodate the 19-length slide, and not a true subcompact?

Correct. They're built specifically for the 19-length slide.

Notice how the railed dustcover is flush with the muzzle of the 19-length slide.

Even if you could install a G26-length slide, you'd have the frame protruding past the end of the muzzle.

I’d say they are waiting to see how well these sell and if they sell well other slide length options will follow.

RXM Trigger Update:

Timney seems to be the first major trigger company to introduce a dedicated RXM trigger - a version of their Alpha. It's only $100 list price, so I bought one directly from Timney.

I learned a few things about the RXM during install:

First, the factory Ruger connector is geometrically the same as a Glock 3.5 lb minus connector, which explains the rolling break that I wasn't very fond of. I think Ruger did this because the modular FCU changes some of the trigger system geometry and may increase the pull weight with a standard connector. Polishing the connector helps a little, but not much.

Second, the factory trigger bar doesn't have a dot projection on the side that keeps the trigger bar more aligned with the FPS plunger. On my RXM this was allowing the trigger bar to flex closer to the frame and engage the FPS plunger too far off center, making the pull feel heavier and crunchier.

The Alpha has the trigger bar projection and when installed with the factory connector and heavier (red) trigger return spring the pull weight is is around 3+ lbs but still has the rolling break.

Adding a factory Glock 5.5 lb connector makes the break much more crisp and brings the total weight to around 4 lbs. A Glock 5.0 lb dot connector takes off a little weight and adds a little roll. I like the 5.5 lb best.

So I bought a NP3 coated 5.5 lb Glock connector from Overwatch Precision and also their NP3 coated Glock factory FPS plunger and their NP3 coated "improved" plunger. Both are better than stock but the improved one feels best.

So now I have probably the best Glock trigger I've tried, at a reasonable weight. Kind of close to a Walther PPQ or PDP.

I also got a new black grip frame because I didn't like the gray that much.

For those that have both [or all 3] how are these in comparison to a G19 and/or the PSA Dagger?

I have Gen 4 and Gen 5 Glock 19s. And two RXMs. The RXM has superior sights to the stock Glocks and is optic ready. The triggers on the RXM are both similar in feel and pull weight and to me, are equal to the Gen 5 19. Performance wise, in regard to accuracy and reliability, they both have been 100%. I have about 500 rounds each through RXMs so my testing is ongoing in regard to long term durability. I would not hesitate to carry the RXM. Bonus: as long as your holsters will accommodate the RXMs taller sights, your G19 holsters will work.
Will the RXM unseat the G19 as the king of poly 9mm compacts? Probably not. But its an excellent alternative, is modular and a killer deal!

Not a chance. The G19 is the top-selling Glock model and has been the top-selling pistol of all brands for many years, only very recently getting competition for that slot from the SIG P365. In comparison, the Ruger is a drop in the bucket in terms of production and I just don't see any clone or close copy of the G19 ever catching the G19, not in annual sales figures and certainly not in overall production figures.

I thought about a Ruger and dug my 19 back out and have been carrying it for awhile.

Buuuutt..... I did just preorder the GlockStore 26X frame to try. It's basically a Glock 19 sized frame to take a Glock 26 slide.

So basically a fat 43X but capable of taking all the larger capacity magazines.

Not minority enough!
