Hour and a half ago, I bought a P229 in .357 with spare .40 barrel from SigForum member jayodes. After 13 years of membership here, I finally swung my first Sig! Cool

Congrats! That is my all-time favorite pistol that I've owned. While many consider the P228 as the "best" Sig, I have sold every 228 that I ever purchased, but my P229/40/357 is the one I prefer over all others.

Thanks! Now, all I need are ammunition and a range (Illinois sucks for ranges).

2009. 220R SAO in .22LR. It wears a .45ACP Carry-length upper and Hogue rosewood grips now.
My first gun purchase after surviving a medical adventure with a mortality rate in the high 90% range.
It was a great way to celebrate! Big Grin

Mid 1995. I was trying to get on as a reserve deputy at a small department. Many had traded in wheel guns for Glocks. There was a Taurus 92 or two, and a Smith 5906. I only had really shot the M9 and M1911s. I handled just about every 9mm pistol in the shop that day. The P226 felt the best and I bought a box of ammo and carried it home.

Over the next 13 years, the gun had near 80k through it. I took my first LTT class and my first GGI class with it.

Like an idiot, I viewed it as “worn out” and got rid of it. In Feb ‘08, I was forced into a Glock when I joined a regional tactical team. Now, I can shoot a Glock at a high level as well. And in a position to implement policy. May be time to bring the 226 back.

A Swiss P210-6 in the early 70's. Pennsylvania required registration and I received an inquiry from the state asking "What is a SIG?". I replied that "SIG" stood for 'Swiss Industrial Company' in one of the local languages.

A 229 that was a CPO that never left the factory. The lower frame was a German SAS frame. No idea why it never was sold before coming out as a CPO to me. This was in the mid2000s when Sig would tell you these things. Still mine.
