The point is that, besides Sphinx, many, many, 1,000's more people would be/are monitoring their Facebook page than are monitoring this website(much less this particular subject) and Sphinx is VERY aware of that and of the impact it could have on their company.
I.e., IF you truly want to be 'heard' by them, your odds would be significantly better making a post on their Facebook page than posting here.

Thanks for the post and your efforts. I haven't heard back from my contact at Kriss who I emailed on Dec. 4th.
I do find "there was a recent trade show where they were going to talk to some sight mfr(s) about getting this done" kind of funny that Kriss would wait for a trade show, but then that is their business.
Your thoughts on the ToolTech option mirror mine.
If you want a bit of fun, go to the NRC's site, and type in "Kriss" in the "library" search. All kinds of document exchanges, and to my NRC ignorant eyes, it looks like they got the OK back in March, but I could be completely wrong on that.

It is my understanding from my contact at Kriss who I spoke with on 12/9 that they are still pending NRC approval for the night sights. Once that has been finalized they will start production.
As for other vendors it is my understanding that there is not enough economy of scale to justify the production of night sights by another party. The volume simply does not justify it. There would not be enough units sold to make it profitable for anyone involved which is why Sphinx is still waiting on the NRC.
Sphinx is aware of the desire for night sights and they have a solution which is being held up by the NRC. I do not pretend to understand the process so I can only go with that I have been told. As I have said before Kriss wants to sell night sights as much as people want to buy them but they are not able to produce them at this time.
Received my new Sphinx Compact special run model (black with aluminum frame) with full-size grips and two 17-round magazines from Mississippigal today. Took it immediately to the range and ran over 200 rounds through it. The pistol ran perfect. It shoots a little lower than my other SDP, but better low than high IMHO since I can always file the front sight down a little if I can't find an adjustable rear sight for it. This was my first transaction with Donna and it went very smoothly. I recommend sending her your business.

So far I have successfully fired the following ammo through my new Sphinx with the full-size handle and 17-round magazines: 115 grain (Magtech, Freedom Munitions, and S&B); 127 gr reloads, 124 grain FM, 147 gr RN FM and 147 gr JHP Remington Golden Saber. However, last night I experienced my first issue. The gun would not chamber Freedom munitions 147 grain jacketed hollow points remans. Locked up the slide. I put some of my SD ammo (147 gr JHP Remington golden saber) in and it fired and cycled fine. Next I tried some FM 147 gr round nose remans with no issues. I went home and tried the same bullet (FM 147 gr JHP) except for being new ammo and it would not chamber - locked up. I then tried Freedom Munitions 115 JHP and 124 gr JHP and it cycled the ammo with no problems. It also cycled FM 147 gr round nose and 165 grain RN. I thought I had some FM 135 gr JHPs to try, but I must have shot them all.
I took the top end off my regular Sphinx and put it on the new one and it cycled fine with the 147 JHP FM. I switched out the slide releases and it still cycled 147 JHPs just fine with the old top end (I read in other posts that their gun returned with a new slide release). So now I've narrowed it down to the top end.
Probably should have done this first, but now I took both barrels out and did the "plunk" test. The 147 gr JHPs from FM would not seat as far down as the old barrel. The bullets stick up almost 1/16" further. Voila! That is the problem, at least on mine.
There must be something about the shape of the 147 JHPs from FM that is different that the 147 JHP Golden Sabers. Of course their is a difference between RN and JHP, so it must be the shape of the bullet.
Next I will measure the oal of all the ammo to make sure it is the bullet shape.
I measured OAL on some of the bullets I have fired in the new Sphinx and they are as follows: 147 gr. JHP FM - 1.1" (problem in new, but not old Sphinx) 147 gr Golden Saber - 1.125" 147 gr RN FM - 1.110" 124 gr JHP FM - 1.100" 165 gr FM - 1.125" 115 gr JHP FM - 1.065"
My measurements are not exact as I used a machinists rule and not a mic or even a vernier caliper, but I find it strange that the Golden Sabers are ~ .025" longer yet feed and fire without issue. It must be the bullet shape combined with variations in manufacture between the two Sphinx pistols.
I'm not sure if this bothers me that much since both guns function flawlessly with my SD ammo, but I will have to be mindful of not putting 147 FMs in the new pistol and I need to get some more 135 gr JHPs to see if they work OK in the new pistol. I could use the top end from the new to the old, but I don't really want to do that as the new pistol seems to be a little more accurate than the old one - however that may be attributed to the full-size handle affording a better grip. I'll have to check that out by swapping the top ends out.

I believe you are way over-thinking this. The purpose of testing ammo with a pistol, particularly SD ammo, is to find a reliable round, not an unreliable round. Just don't feed the pistol the FM 147 JHP re-manufactured ammo.
If you use 147 gr JHP Remington Golden Saber as your defense round, run a couple of hundred flawless rounds though the new pistol and call it done. Swapping gun parts is totally unnecessary and while it might satisfy an inch to find out why one round, and a re-manufactured one at that, won't work, it is not needed. Just don't use that round again.
